Reaper. That is all. XD i main it since day 1 when it arrived, always will. Nothing can replace my fave dps class of all times c:
Former WHM main until Endwalker. Now I'm a Summoner. Has some healer-friendly aspects like Rezzing, phoenix providing a Team-wide Regen and another Heal you can target, and a raidwide buff.
Easy rotation if you are new to DPS that doesn't require looking for RNG procs, so I can spend most of my time looking at the battle itself. Flashy summons. The rotation also has enough variety of types of skills (cast times and instants, and a ground dot).
Another DPS if you still want some healery aspects is Dancer. It has a small AE heal, multiple partner and a teamwide buff, a damage reduction skill for the team, and a team-wide shield.
For Melee DPS I really like Monk, which is a bit more combo oriented and mostly a personal preference thing as I like the archetype.
Summoner, it looks good, it feels good, and I don't have to think too hard about doing stuff, I can enjoy the game and not use too many keybindings.

If you're new to DPS or trying one out from being a Healer, SMN (Summoner) is probably the most straightforward in the game. The tooltips are oddly complicated SOUNDING, but it's actually super easy once you get the hang of it. You might look up the command to make the Egis smaller so they don't block out the sun (or maybe you like Titan taking up the whole screen, in which case you can make them large size instead. :D), but after that, the rotation is straightforward. There are very few things to track, so you don't have DoTs or upkeep buffs like most Jobs do, you don't have procs you have to react to that make your hotbars explode like a Vegas slot machine, so you can focus more on the fights. But it's also very flexible. Your heal (Physic) doesn't really work since it scales off Mind instead of Intellect for some reason, but everything else does, including your Raise or the party healing Phoenix gives you. And it has a party damage buff, so you have lots of party support and utility. Bonus points, it shares the Arcanist class with Scholar (the only two Jobs that share a class), meaning if you level SMN, you get SCH for free if you want a second Healer Job.
A step up from there is RDM (Red Mage). RDM does have procs (if you get Fire or Stone or not), and there's more optimizing to do with it, but it's still a pretty straightforward system of alternating between short and long cast (so the Dualcast makes them instant) in kind of a dance of 1-2 3-4 1-2 3-4 which is also pretty flexible and you can mix it up a lot. Keep your White and Black Mana somewhat close, then shoot in for a 1-2-3 melee combo and a 4-5-5 magical finisher. It does have the procs, but they aren't TERRIBLE once you get used to looking out for them, and there are no DoTs or damage buffs to track besides using Manification and Embolden on CD. It's probably the easiest DPS Job in the game to just understand, even if it has a bit more if you want do well (SMN is easier to do well on, but they're both pretty much so). RDM has the best raising in the game once you unlock it (at level 64) since it can Dualcast something fast (Jolt/Fire/Stone/Cure) into Raise for Raise to be instant. Oh, and unlike SMN's Cure, RDM's Vercure actually works since it scales based on INT. Though it's not SUPER powerful, it can be useful in pinches or when soloing stuff. Finally, it also has Magick Barrier, giving it yet a bit more party support and utility.
Those are probably the two most straightforward DPS Jobs in the game. MCH arguably is one as well, but it has a lot higher button/actions per minute (APM) that can make it a bit more hectic, and less heal-y style utility. Both SMN and RDM can Raise, and are the only DPS that can do so.

I'd recommend looking up Wesk Alber's YouTube guides, "FFXIV: Endwalker Arcanist/Summoner 1 to 90 Leveling Skills Guide" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDm0...mIovFT&index=3 (he also has a RDM one - he has one for every Job if you want to look through some). They're made to be super new player/new player to that Job friendly, and he explains things super well, I think. Might help to glance through his videos on any Jobs you're interested in to get a feel for if you think they're too crazy or seem worth giving a shot.
Note his update in the description: "Patch 6.1: Searing Light is no longer Carby Based. The Summoner itself casts it." (Basically, your party buff is more usable now, which is a buff, and some potencies were buffed making SMN even stronger.)

Hard to recommend just one, as the fact you can play them all is one of the joys of the game, so here is my opinion on all of them! Disclaimer, I am overly optimistic about things so…
Red Mage: My favourite class! It has an easy to understand mechanic involving balancing what type of attack spells you use before launching into as devastating melee combo. It keeps the job active but not overwhelming. Dualcast also gives it some great support opportunities to Revive others. Also, magic + sword is always just a cool combo!
Dancer: Dancer is perhaps my second favourite job. Its simple with a basic and easy to understand ‘Step’ mechanic, yet has lots to keep you active. Pus its the most mobile DPS job, very good for new players I feel.
Black Mage: One of the most complex jobs, due to how its mechanics work and need to know your opponents rotation as you will need to be standing still for periods of time, but when you do get a hang of it its so much fun and has a addictive flow to it. Fire go boom!
Reaper: Like some of the others, Reaper is complex enough that you will not get board but not overly confusing. It has a fluid rotation and some great animations. Sometimes feels a little rough around the edges, but it the newest DPS so thats understandable.
Samurai: A little bloated I think at endgame, but very enjoyable. Its mechanics (collecting stickers!) may seem rough but is easy to get the hang of and it has beautiful animations and skill sounds.
Machinist : A very active job that will teach you about oGCDs well! Its worth it though for a satisfying rotation and cool skills, like a robot queen and shotgun!
Ninja: Very intimidating due to its mudra combo mechanics, but when you get the hang of it it there is alot to enjoy with some of the best melee animations in the game.
Summoner: Great fun in its current form, though I will admit I kinda miss the old one. Its the most simple magic DPS job, which can lead it to be called boring, but there is nothing wrong in that I think.
Bard: Sometimes feels a little uneven with how buffs work and kinda wish it had more Archery elements, but when once you find its rhythm (hehe) its lots of fun.
Dragoon: A personal fav due to it being my ARR job, though not as overly keen on it as the expansions have gone on. Just does not have the same satisfying rotation as other melee jobs seem to have. Still very much enjoy it, if you like classic FF Dragoons you will like this!
Monk: This is the only DPS I have yet to get at Level 90, but I am close! Its Chakara and Stance mechanics put me off this job for a long while, but after finally levelling it its actually fun! Very solid when you understand what leads into what and how the Chakara system works in endgame. Plus, who dose not like punching people?
My personal favs currently are Dragoon and Monk! Leveling dragoon can feel real slow at first but I find its 90 rotation to be really fun to do, the flow feels really nice to execute and a lot of moves connect to each other in fun ways. The movement is also very satisfying. Monk is awesome- sounds are pleasing, I think its cool to punch things :P, has a combo nice flow, and there's quite a lot of room for optimization if you enjoy that- but you don't have to even think about that to just have fun with the job!
I am really enjoying NIN right now. I am currently leveling it, but I have been playing it since Stormblood and was the first DPS job I picked up coming from being a healer main. The last week or so has reminded me how much I love this melee class. It is a very versatile job that does well in both single target and AoE situations. The EW expansion has only expanded this adaptability in both areas with abilities like Phantom Kamaitachi and Hollow Nozuchi. Shukiho traits allow for even more Bhavacakras, and Hellfrogs during AoE situations are really fun to press. Once I get my Raiju skills I know I am only going to enjoy NIN even more at max level.
Figuring out viable situations to use Hide to get off a Meisui free trick attack feels really good. Shukuchi, and the traits that enhance it basically ensure it is always available makes for ridiculous mobility. When you are really good at this job, you cause sick damage while being exceptionally difficult to hit. I find great shame in acquiring tiger cookies (vuln stacks) while playing NIN. It's just a fun job to play if it melds with your particular playstyle. It can be intimidating to take up, but the rotation is actually pretty straight forward with enough time during burst phases to get your high damage skills in it.
That said, I do have issues with the job and feel it can be improved further. Mug's secondary buff with increasing drop rates is useless and misleading. I think Mug should lose that and be updated to Sneak Attack at a later level with an updated animation. The mudra system can be expanded and Ninjiitsu combos can be performed with sequential presses of the ninjitsu button. I really don't think Raiju skills need their own button at all. Same goes for Kassatsu, which I feel can be a buff granted after certain conditions are met, so skills like Goka and Hysoho can be comboed as well.
All in all, it is a solid DPS job with strong Naruto vibes if you are into anime.
i really love dragoon. with all the jumps i get that feeling of freedom in fights, also the positionals which make you almost dance around the bosses.
then there are the many off globals which feels great to burn trough them when your mind dives deeply into the fight.
i also like the two skills to buff other players (i played chanter in aion wjich resolved around buffing and shielding your group... way more than anything we have in ff14, so the few remaing buffs like the eye makes me pretty nostalgic)
Playing healer as main but sometimes you just want to dps.
Last tier i enjoyed BLM lots but i transitioned to SAM now.
The Ogi Namikir (big seathed slash) and Setsugekka is what im after.
I love big strong hits and definetly find them on BLM or SAM. :p
Melee: NIN
Phys Ranged: BRD or DNC depending how busy I want to be at the moment.
Caster: BLM or RDM depending how 'supportive' I want to be at the moment.
Not Red Mage.
I really enjoy the changes made to MNK in Endwalker. Feels like a much more complete class and has a lot of flexibility when you properly learn it.
They are all average to me, in terms of fun.
Average just means average, or okay.....not bad.
Bad means bad.
I would say NIN, because of the hand gestures. It looks neat.
I would say Blue Mage, but cant' do that for a lot of content I would like to take them in, and Red Mage I already had enough of my fill of that for now. So with Endwalker I been toying around with Summoner. Specifically experimenting with spellspeed summoner for more casual content as making your demis come back quicker as a simple sort of joy. For those not aware, spellspeed does affect the CD of Demi-Bahamut/Demi-Phoenix. Like 50.28 seconds in stormblood content. This also does affect your other cast times you may not notice as much like ruin having a 1.25/2.09 cast/recast times. This does have a bit of a knock on effect of chewing through your MP very quickly.
Exactly. Being a ranged DPS feels pretty pointless because a tank who even slightly knows what they're doing makes you feel like a redundant button mashing sidekick. The game is now pretty much melee oriented for whatever reason. Damage, utility, mobility, the holy trinity of being a melee player.
It'll be Monk until the servers are shut down unless the devs remove the form based combos and they give it the typical combos the other melee have.
I’ve yet to really find a job/class in this game or another that feels as smooth or enjoyable as red mage.
Reaper and Black Mage are def my top two.
Runner up is Dragoon
For me, it's NIN. The 123 animations feel super slick. The mudras (when the game's not lagging) are satisfying to land. Even the little things like Shade Shift have some sick animations. The burst is thicc. The glams are sexy.
Whilst I guess I'll always be a Bard at heart, I am enjoying Samurai a great deal!

For me it's Monk, sometimes I like to mess around on Summoner and Ninja, but no DPS job gives me the rush and a feeling of satisfaction the way Monk does. At least when it comes to DPS I can't play any outside of Monk for more than like an hour without feeling bored.
" Diet Samurai " post 6.1, though I had more Fun with it at 6.08 - I still pick SAM now over anything else because I believe they will return Kaiten in the year 2030.(Obviously no sign of copium overdose whatsoever with me)...
Depends on what you like and the weapon you prefer if you into range mch is selfish and just goes merica with a gun just guns blazing and doing damage with tools like a chainsaw crossbow drill and a chain anchor to name a few brd is lotr legolas style with songs that buff dnc is same as brd with buffs and mch with burst dmg
If you want mages smn is easiest as it just has a simple rotation and rez rdm is kinda simple at first jolt Versailles jolt until 70 then you rotate to verholy or verflare with the black white gauges and the ocational sword blm is easy at first but at 70 you have to rotate ice and fire timers to access the gauge thingy I forget what its called
For melee drg is easiest at 50 you get your jumps rotation and at 60 you get the 4th and 5th move for rotation then it's just mirage gauge for the 2nd form geiroskul and extra jump with the 2 eyes Sam is more trying to get coins at first then it's using the gauge to do different moves as it fills same with rpr but no coins but with 2 gauges and mnk is the fastest of all dps as it is button smashing and positionals there all fun you just got to find what style and dexterity you like for your hands as some are easy and alot of movement while others you have to be patient and know when to use moves. I'm more of a Tank player but I love Black Mage, Feels pretty solid and powerful in general with some recent changes by the gameplay just feels so good for me, If you mess up you feel it on BLM, If you do well you also feel it. It's a job that it's both easy to pick up but also hard to do well at.
I also Like RDM, Machinist, Bard, Monk.
Reaper, it feels really smooth to play. The rotation is nice and the aesthetic is great.
I did love samurai but the removal of kaiten and auto crits kinda killed the job for me. It's felt really hollow to play since no matter how many times I try and get back into it.
Monk I also loved in stb and shb but it feels weird to me now post rework and I have yet to get used to it. The removal of positionals on it really bothered me. It was the little mini game monk had that I really enjoyed and they removed it.
I like the direction they took with summoner but it needs a bit more depth added to it. It's a bit too simple right now.
I really do like black mage also but I suck at playing it!
Bard mostly. One of the only remaining classes with a true proc system that matters and a burst that's never exactly the same and makes you prioritize and think. It just feels good to unravel it, I just wish it lasted longer...
I play reaper because it is like a slightly easier machinist, and I already liked machinist.
My favorite damage dealer is summoner. It's not complicated and its spells are satisfying to watch. I feel I'm making a contribution in duties and raids.
Blue mage. It has plenty of casts, flexibility when you're not tryharding, healer/tank/dps builds aren't identical, spells interacting with other spells, mp management can rear its head at times. I don't particularly think launcher/ultravibration/level 5 death are particularly healthy for it in the long run, but maybe the enforced small pull dungeons will allow for some aoe spam. Masked carnivale's also good, but I guess deep dungeons are the equivalent for other jobs.
Dragoon's not bad either, but I miss the tether and blue dragon aura. And sensible buff timings, but that goes without saying.
Don't like what they did to monk, don't like samurai without resource management. Bard's boring without procs. Summoner is a loathsome parody.
Black mage isn't for me but I can recognise it's good. Haven't felt any desire to play ninja since 5.5, red mage is fun if you don't take fight design into account.
Black Mage being number 1 and Red Mage being number 2. Dualcasting feels good with verraise, and the melee combo into the finishers is nice. It has a nice balance of oGCDs to GCDs. Only problem right now is just enchanted Reprise feels bad to use.
Black Mage simply because it is fun to play even if I mess up at it. The risk and reward is all there for me to best optimize if I want to. It also has a lot of flexibility in how I want to recover in a rotation if I mess up mechanically.
DRG would be a close third because I like the gameplay, but no blue aura makes me not feel like a dragoon as much anymore. It was pretty integral to have the blue aura even if the upkeep is simple, but it feels so weird without it now because I just feel like a naked lancer rather than a dragoon cloaked in dragon aura. RPR replaces DRG simply because enshroud is nice to use at level 90. Fast paced attacks, lots of flexibility in delaying gauge spending but low enough cd to feel active, aesthetically nice, and fun positionals to hit. Feels very empty at lower levels though. It's almost as if it's a different class based on how slow it can be early on.
PvP monk, hate the pve version but the pvp is a lot of fun.
For me its RPR, even if double/triple enshroud feels like ass.
Has been Nin for me since I started it in Stormblood. It has fast apm and in combat movement (gapcloser and teleport that's resettable) , rotation is different for like ...... 6 mins, Hyosho Ranryu is always satisfying (come on 1300 P + 30% + 10% + 5%) plus w/e other buffs peeple throw at me . Mudra's are a great system and have 9 abilities condensed onto 4 buttons . Love the Kakashi LB3 . Aoe rotation is insanely fun . Glams don't share esthetic with any other gear set. Kinda OP in new DD since I can spam raitons and stack raijus . Just being a melee/caster combo hybrid is just the bakers kiss with this job haha
