Anyone else tried playing on iPad or another tablet?
Frame rate was really bad so it was pretty much unplayable for combat, might work for simple things like crafting though.
Thoughts?

What app lets you do that?
Splashstop streamer, maybe. Basically a remote apps that lets you control PC from your ipad.
im trying this from my tablet!
i did on the past to play with my psp , nice for craft
Splashtop streamer.
It works great if you have a good network and good computer. Set your pc to the native resolution of the iPad and do the same with ffxiv.
It works so well for me with almost no slowdown. I use it when I'm gathering and watching tv in the lounge room. I use an Xbox wireless controller also.
I too have used Splashtop streamer and it was awesome, played with a wireless xbox controller and really enjoyed myself. No time to talk, but never the less, it can be done. :)
I was using Logmein. If the screen refresh rate on Splashtop any good? Logmein only seemed to update every few seconds but I'm not sure if it was the software or just general latency.
For a moment, I thought you where implying it was running directly on the system.
But yeah, remote streaming is pretty rad.
For the first time in history, I actually really want a tablet.
I've used logmein, but i use it at work, where i have a 10mb/s download and remote to home with a 1mb upload so it is very fast, i ofc turn down color quality and keep the resolution low, streams much faster if you knock it down to like 720p.
The issue with logmein is it doesnt handle right click drag well, so you cant move camera with it, but it does the job to craft away or buy stuff.
Now I wish that I waited one month longer for the galaxy tab 2 10.1 instead of the 7.1!
Never used the remote desktop application, would I require a controller?
sweet, now wait for 2.0 . Im sure will run x2 better then current 1.0xxxx , if not better :)))))))))
I think it would be cool if SE actually made an app for simple things like controlling retainers and a simple crafting interface. would be really cool.
Crafting on your ipad... Reminds me of : http://youtu.be/NdjOyG6NnCA
how do you control the game though? a keyboard for your ipad?
I use TeamViewer on my iPod while I'm at work to do a bit of crafting. I managed to do a bit of chatting on a weak signal. It's a free app, btw.
ya i have an issue with splashtop controlling the game, since the directional arrows are wasd and if you hold one of those keys you get all the alternative versions of the letters, so to move i had to hit auto run quickly as i moved XD, kept walking into walls lol
I did it using GoToMyPC almost 2 years ago. No screenshot as proof and i only got the trial...
I suggest a good wireless game pad with Long reach if you wish to use it in your house. Make it Easyer.
finally have time to make a quick video on how smooth FFXIV streams on Ipad with splashstop streamer, also contains United we stand CS if you havent done it and do not want spoiler.

I tried it on my asus transformer pad with slashtop. there were some pretty big issues that you have to realize.
1: the bandwidth needed to do it outside a local area network is huge.
2: the wireless xbox controllers they are talking about are probably linked the the main system and not the tablet. when I used my dock keyboard for input on the tablet, I had to press the movement key for each step. so is the xbox controller inputting to the main system or the tablet?
I tested this out on my Xoom and it works, it's just impossible to control with the virtual keyboard. It's very difficult to move. I ordered an xbox 360 controller with otg cable to plug it directly into the tablet, but it won't arrive until Thurs/Fri. This will be for use while i'm away from home so hopefully I can get the controller to work with the tablet like it would work on the pc.

works with a wii classic controller after you do some mapping.Quote:
Did the controller arrive? If so, did it work as well as if you were using it on a PC? :3
