Question about 2.0/Legacy

I'm hoping this is the appropriate place to ask this. I just joined the game a few days ago so if this is a stupid question I apologize.

Basically, the Lodestone says that to qualify for Legacy come 2.0 a player must have paid for 90 days of cumulative game time anytime between January 6th, 2012 and the launch of the 2.0 beta.

So my question is this: am I able to pay for 3 months of subscription time (all at once, like to choose the pay for three months option instead of a monthly fee) and instantly qualify for 2.0? Or do I need to wait out my 30 free days from buying the game and literally purchase each individual month as it comes by in hopes that the beta doesn't launch by mid October?

There you have it. Can I buy the three month deal (if they have one) and qualify, or do I need to wait out three months with the monthly plan?

Sounds to me like you need to log in and subscribe for 90 days asap.

You need to have started playing before the end of May, and you must sign up for the 90-day subscription before the end of this month. If you didn't register in May then you unfortunately can't qualify at all.

Ahh, I see. Well, that sucks, looks like i was about 2 weeks too late. :(

Can't you just register the 90 day subscription on your account now? Or is the option not available for you anymore? :(

The option is still there, but according to that dev post I would have to have started playing during May. Is there anyway I could directly speak to an admin/dev/gm or something to clear this up?

Mmmh I understood the option will become unavailable after June 30th, so as long as you pay the price for 90 days before that (that is, if you select the 90 day option and the money will be taken from your account before that), you'll get the status.

Alright, thanks. I sent them an email explaining my situation and everything so I hope I get a response soon! When I do, I'll post what they told me so anyone else who may have this problem can see what the case is.

This game only began getting billed Nov/Dec. 2011. That is what they mean by "playing before the start of billing", it has nothing to do with free trials, which is what I think is confusing everyone.

I started playing for the very first time AFTER MAY 2012. What do I need to do to qualify for the Legacy campaign? You get NOTHING.

Well that is really crappy. They should update both the Lodestone and Customer Support sections for the legacy system. Both only give a description saying something along the lines of "Pay for 90 days cumulative game time from January 06, 2012 and the start of the 2.0 beta to qualify!" shedding no light on any of these dev posts. :(

We have received questions from the community regarding when they need to begin playing FINAL FANTASY XIV if they wish to qualify for the Legacy Campaign.

In order to fulfill the requirements for the Legacy Campaign, a player must register his/her copy of the game no later than Thursday, May 31, 2012, and have subscribed for a minimum of 90 days beyond the conclusion of your free trial period.

Information regarding the transition from the current game to version 2.0 will be announced on the Lodestone in the future.

I have the same question. I registered my game on May 31st, but because SE didn't allow me to register a payment method until later in June (had to contact SE support services to get them to fix my account), I didn't "start playing" until later - even though my game was registered.

Now I'm on my 30-day trial, but I'm signed up for 90-days as soon as billing kicks in. Am I out of luck anyway? Did we have to "start playing" before May 31st, or just have our game registered?

Both of you will be fine, sign up for the 90 days to be safe. It's register before May 31.
