Every scene this song is used is awesome, almost surreal.
Does anyone know what it's called?
(And has there been any word on what status of score/ost of the game is in regards to 2.0?)

Sadly, as far as I know, the only tracks that have names that we know of are on the FFXIV Field Tracks and Battle Tracks album. Of these, some of the names are kind of interesting - especially 'Opening Theme' for the iconic theme that winds up being used in character creation, rather than in any opening.

I LOVE Van Darnus' theme. It's so ominous, so terrifying - there's something about the rhythmic four-beat underlying structure that fills me with dread. It reminds me of the Master's Theme from Doctor Who, that might be part of why it gets to me so much.

Oh, and the Gobbue theme, of all things! It sounds like something Mitsuda would have written, in all the best ways. :D I love the soundtrack to this game, both old tracks and new, and can probably dork about it for hours given the chance. XD

Ooh, and I forgot: the dungeon theme! Back before there were any dungeons in the game (!) it drove me crazy not knowing where that theme would play. When it finally popped in when I did Toto-Rak for the first time - and then when it went crazy when I started fighting something - it was pretty incredible. I love the use of dynamic scoring in dungeons; I wish the normal field/battle tracks were at least motif reflections of each other.

I really like that song its one of my fav in the game

Yer its an awesome track. Sort of remorseful but hopeful at the same.

Castrum Novum and the Garuda fight are my favorites.

Mistbeard Cove's Chrono Cross inspired theme. I know it isn't used exclusively in Mistbeard Cove anymore, buuuuuuut.

Although I'm a Limsa Lominsa man, Twilight over Thanalan is just beautiful.

I'll always remember it like I did the nostalgic music to when I first ventured out of Bastok and heard Gustaberg Music.

Also I hope they introduce a castle type dungeon with music like Castle Zvahl. I like that real creepy sound.

Best BGM...... crafting................ you get brainwashed + some how it lures you into sleep mode in 5minutes or less.

I can never find the music but it played in all the towns when the Grand Companies were all being revived. Does anyone know which one I'm talking about? It was the event before the Firefall Faire.

I was super happy when they added both of the Castrum Novum tracks. I've been waiting for those to be in game since launch.

Beneath Bloodied Banners is also one of my favorites. The first time I saw the Prerelease Trailer, and this this track kicked in (at 2:34), I knew Uematsu was back. His return to Final Fantasy, more than anything, made me want to play this game.

The post-Uematsu music for XIV is all really good, too (especially Garuda and the final AF quest music), but I miss Uematsu's presence. I wish he would write some more music for us.

Garuda's theme gives me chills I love it so much!

There's just too many tracks I love, haha, so I split them into categories. No doubt there are more categories, but nonetheless, those are my favourites.

Oh, and I need to give a LARGE special hats off to the Prelude theme (Prelude ~Remembrance~) which appears on the title screen. So far the most gorgeous rendition of Prelude I've seen in an FF game.

As of now, it only plays during a faction leve that occurs in Coerthas, so it's one of the rare tracks. I love it as well, especially since it contains segments of Answer in it; however, without a context, I can't accurately judge it.

Oh and Halls of Flames is pretty awesome too. I loved being in Ul'Dah so much more when it played through the whole city. Actually I like all the GC hall songs, and a ton of others heh. I listen to the songs more out of the game than in I think... Also, I think it fitting in this thread to show appreciation for AMagicalKarp. He gets us the new tracks fast :o
