Honestly easier to test it out yourself
Okay at perception 155, not a bit of difference, I also talked to somebody on our server that had the Hamlet diggers helm and the Militia bracelets equipped. They said not a bit of difference noticed with those two, hq discovery +20 and perception +30. I find that to just be sad/stupid, why even bother putting this gear in the game, work so hard to get it and not even make any difference....
Oh and it was a good test he was running because he was mining with two characters side by side at the same time...
its 0.1% to HQ find per 1 perception, so the +10 armlet gives a 1% increase
Every item has its own HQ find % per your lvl like gathering grade 1 at lvl 50 might give you 25% hq find per item and gathering grade 5 item at lvl 50 would be only 5% HQ find
Just get to the max available 170+ and have a +17% hq find...
hope that helps
Stat increase on quality and double down are the same. every 1 = 0.1%
all i can say, is i see a noticable difference when i have percetion/hq find gear on as opposed to when i dont
They need to add a comprehensive stat breakdown page.
One that shows the effect of stats on things such as HQ find and quality on crafting, m.acc/acc on hit rating etc.
I really hope they plan to do this in 2.0 the current stat window is pretty useless in informing players of what effect stats increases actually have.
At 165 perception (including +15 from rollanberry lassi), one out of every eleven dark ores is +1. I usually get a +1 every second node, sometimes two in one node.
Okay I just got done testing this at Hala on Gold Ore, perception was at 177, does not make any difference....In fact on one node Master of Rock kicked in after the first swing. The next 6 swings were on golden ore and not one hq. So yeah I guess I answered my own question, it still doesn't make any difference what your perception stat is....
Devs? if your reading this, are you going to fix this/ make stats matter in future patches?
Thanks
Also tested the 177 perception on grade 2 node today, no difference in hq drops on that either..
As stated in previous threads about this exact topic.
Cap output to 8 attempts per node (~115)
Cap gathering to 1 swing per item (Varies depending on what you are gathering).
Fill the rest with perception.
Perception doesn't give enough impact to make a pure perception build and ignore the other stats. Better to have a reasonably balanced set that caps attempts, 1 swing per item, and as much perception as you can fit in the other slots. You will find a greater return being able to mine faster, and more frequently then you would if you increased perception by ~3-4%
Something tells me there is a cap for perception that we are not seeing. And its a bit hard to test for it given the circumstances behind it all
I'm up at 195 and still can't get HQs very well, but still not sure of the cap. Moreover, the PER on the off-hand doesn't shop up in the attributes, so that doesn't help. So, really not sure.
there is many things affect the HQ, the most i noticed is the day and time you gathering in, perception is just increase the chance of getting HQ a little but try to keep your gathering and output stat 100+
Perception does make a difference, but in my experience things like time/day/moon seem to make a large difference as well. Of course I can't say exactly. I can say that my largest hauls have been during a new moon phase at night. My dryest spells seem to occur during the day in the waning and waxing phases. I never really paid attention to *what* day it is but that is what ive noticed. Perception does make a difference, but after a certain point its probably hardly noticeable anymore. Ive been everywhere from 147 to 170ish. Honestly I never really noticed a statistical difference. But the night/moon/day thing I was talking about was a huuuuge difference for me. Like woah lol.
Also make sure you pump your main stats, either VIT or MND. Ive noticed having my stats higher affects ability activation and whatnot. Master of Rock is your friend..ive gotten 5/8 hqs because of it at times. Btw the HQ rate on something like Gold Ore is insanely low. So if thats ever your benchmark i'm telling you its not you.
1 hq gold ore after 3 hours mining at 176 perception with a level 50 miner. Ugh.
Do not forget secondary stats such as MND(for miner). Multiple people have tested and confirmed stacking these stats also increase HQ rate. Then again most of this is personal testing and speculation. Personally i believe getting output to 115.. then filling it in with a good mixture of the other stats is the way to go. Still not sure gathering is really worth it when your shooting for HQ. Even if its taking less swings to get an ore.. thats not really increasing your HQ rate per hour
I hate your face!! .. just kidding. Im still gonna debate the 114/115. After our last debate in july i went back and retested it and still came to 115. Im gonna chalk it up to secondary stats. Ill update my website with 114/115.
Haha, I remember that. I should probably retest again as well then. I suppose X amount of Y stat could influence Output. It's just strange since you're the only person who's told me the 114 data point is wrong.
Edit: I'll make a new thread for Output when I get around to testing it again. Don't want to string the Perception thread along about unrelated business.
I am definitely a big enough man to admit if im wrong. So lets both do some testing and get the exact number.
EDIT: You know even if some people are getting 8 at 114 and some at 115 that still means it can still cap at 114. Ill give this one to ya. Good thing is were not arguing religion here... there is a correct answer, and the point is to find that.
why is there a discussion about output here,
we are looking or hq ore which is 1 per swing no matter what,
and gathering would only effect the swings it takes to get to the ore (first strike +114 gathering or second same location strike -114)
the goal is to get a much stat and perception as possible, without spending another 3 mil, 176 is about as high as i can get it.
Because finding the cap for any stat is helpful. Finding the cap for Output means you do not have to waste putting anymore gear twards that, which allows you to put more into Perception/ gathering/ MND etc...
i guess what i was getting at is if you are gathering mats that are higher then your lvl, then a cap of 114 gathering is needed to get on the first swing
and if you are gathering mats that come as more then 1 per gather then 114 output is needed
but...
If you are going for hq ore, logs, and rocks where you can only get one at a time. and know where to strike
~you dont need gathering or output in any way~
perception gear that is not super expensive
Explorers Bandana 24
Woolen_Doublet 18 (HQ 19)
Cotton Work Gloves 4 (HQ 5)
Raptorskin Survival Belt 12 (HQ 13)
Linen Bottom 7 (HQ 8)
Dodoskin Espadrilles 4 (HQ 5)
Electrum Earrings 5 (HQ 6)
3 rings 5
Rolanberry_Lassi 15
There is +100
if you go with the gathering hats from hamlet. it would be +106 with Perception: +30 HQ Discovery Rate: +10 = (1% hq find)
ooh.. wait a min.... please forgive me if i am wrong here... I believe you are basing this off Fishing( just checked your lodestone). It is a tad different for MIN and BTN. As a fisher you can cast your line out in any spot and it doesn't deplete correct? As a MIN or BTN. you locate a node and swing away. You only have a specific number of swings before you must move on and find another node. There is a max of 8 attempts.. so at 114 Output you reach that max. It would suck to only get 5 swings instead of 8 and have to move on to the next spot.
have you guys even considered the fact that Gathering has Raw Stat requirements too?
I think in a way were are debating the same point... with your gear set up you are most likely at 114+ Output anyways. One thing id like to point out is that i believe a felt coif of Toiling melded with MND may outweigh the explorers bandanna or Hamlet helm. 20+ MND is definitely better than 2 perception.
EDIT: as Kiote mentioned stats like gathering and Perception have raw stats. From what i know and most speculation is Gathering=Vit, Percetion=MND
Sorry, I know this is an old thread.
My MIN stats are: Gathering: 72, Output: 106 and Perception 190 (with food), and I've noticed a lot of improvement lately since I got my Crimson Standard Ring from the GC, I managed to mine 20 Gold Ore +1 out of 80 Gold Ore, that's 20 HQ + 60 NQ, that's around 25% HQ Rate.
When I went mining for Darksteel I was getting lots of NQ but after a while I managed to get 3 HQ from one node, and ended up getting 18 HQ Darksteel Ore HQ out of 65 Ores, that's also around 25%, same ratio also when I went mining for Cobalt Ore. That also was when I only had Master of Timber and Master of Rock, I just got Master of Fish, so I'm hopping I'll be able to get even more.
Just need to double meld more Vitality into my pants and body piece.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that these numbers were all under a full moon.
