pvp in this game is trash

The title does not say enough. No info about:

1) The gamemode(s) played to base this opinion(ated fact) on
2) The technical issues you may have with PvP if any
3) Your job choice and what you played against
4) Your general skill level and experience in PvP

OP's not entirely wrong, but the sad thing is that I like this trashy PVP more than I like PVE.

It is the worst out of all mmo's I've played for sure, even when I still played WoW, at least in wow if you press a skill it instantly goes off, registers properly, really good snappyness to the combat, taking a lot more skill to be good at for sure then current ff14's.

But it can still be fun because skills feel fun to land.

While I do agree I have to say WoW felt better to play when I lived in NZ and played on NA servers. I also played a rogue. Then I do now and j live in the states.

I agree. Say what you want about the original PVP, it was fun because it was actually based around your actual role (Healer vs dps vs tank), but you were in a balanced team of 1 tank, 1 heal, 2 dps. The major complaint was it took too long to que and it took to long to win matches. Why? Cause one one one your couldn't win a healer could self heal indefintiely while a dps attacked it. A tank could handle getting hit by 2-3 players and surviving with and sometime without healer help. DPS vs DPS had some skill based battle, Which is why SE abandon old pvp and made EVERYONE A DPS, that way quest would be smaller and battle faster. Why I play as a tank or healer now, they DONT play as their role.

"Caster" I feel are the handicapped roles now. All other jobs can MOVE AND HIT at the same time. CASTERS HAVE TO STAND STILL TO CAST.

BUT, the can cast at range. WHATs range? 15 feet away?easily reach you.

What are you talking about. The nu-pvp is heckin GREAT. Everything Yoshida touches turns to gold.
Excessive cc and insane bursts is peak fun. Style over gameplay is the way to go for sure, just like in pve.
edit: forgot the "all or nothing" mechanics too like immunities and one-shot skills.

Delete SAM's LB from the game and fix the Circus Crowd Control meta.

Is it? Many regard World of Warcraft as the best mmo pvp available and they also offer bonus xp on wins, literal loot boxes for participation, and a weekly loot box based on time spent and performance. There are also things you can miss out on forever in the form of mounts and the like. So when you really think about it things like the series and daily xp bonus is just a standard modern mmo practice.

I don't really think anyone is forcing you to participate. There's plenty of content people don't participate in and it's fine. The mental sickness of "I have to do everything!" has become so pervasive in the mmo community and it's sad.
