Firefall Faire 2012?

I missed the one in 2011, and it would be a real shame if the event didn't come back in 2012. I really want those swim suits.

Will there be a Firefall Faire in 2012?

They already stated we won't get bikinis or anything this year (Unless they changed their minds) and had in mind some kind of Kimono for this years event.

So the binikis are permanently missable for now? I think that's a little weak of SE to punish players who didn't play previous patches.

I myself couldn't enjoy last summer's event due to heavy lag + no option to set the game at 30fps.

how about everyone who going to play 2.0 and would never get anything or see anything from legacy in the game themself? so you miss out on the binikis you get them one day. Just how FFXI each year event there a moogle seeing pass year events i'm sure they would do something like that later down the road.

During the recent Easter event, you were allowed to get the old Easter stuff from last year. Maybe they'll do that again.

While I understand that players who missed the event want the items. They were meant for the people who were there and actually took part in the event. I was there, and I didn't get all of the swimsuits due to being low level at the time. However i'm not going to complain about it because I didn't take advantage of it when they were here. They should be kept as a reward to players who take part.

This will be the first rare/ex reoccurring event so it will be interesting to see if they allow newer players to obtain the older items. I think we will be able to obtain some of them but not the higher tier ones like the Gold.

Also they brought back the egg helms from last year no? The bikinis seem so popular it would be foolish if they did not bring them back this year. Enough with the special snowflake syndrome. :(

I have been waiting since I got my new PC in October 2011 for them :( I was unable to get them last year because I had no computer that could run XIV...just played XI on the xbawx ;~;

I really hope so. I hate how several Final Fantasy games have missables unless you use a guide. I don't want FFXIV to be the same as so many other MMOs out there. Permanently missables sucks and should not be allowed to be present in a 2012 MMO. Everyone should be able to enjoy the same amount of content, no matter how small it is.

This if a forum. I have a right to complain if I don't enjoy a certain element of a game I am paying monthly for, just as much as you have a right to not read this thread if you don't like it.

I imagine like the Easter event the old swim wear will be obtainable again this year in some form or another.

I threw away most of mine and now that we have storage I could at least store them now.

They actually said We wouldnt be getting New Swimsuits this year, in favor of getting Yukata, but they never said anything about not getting the Old ones.

I and several others like me didn't get a swimsuit, so I'm going to complain despite getting something other players won't be able to get once 2.0 launches...

Oh ok thank you! :) It looks like they said they won't let us craft (recipes) those exact ones, but newer ones they are looking into, thats good enough for me! Yay ! :D It seems like they didn't say "NEVER RELEASING SWIMSUITS FOR SUMMER EVENT" hehe I have a feeling we will be able to get them again.

I ended up restarting recently and dont have my goodies from long ago :(

i would say that it probly wont be permanent, but they wont be back in the near future

omg, Guys do you not realize that right now, they have to get 1.23 next month, then go full force for 2.0 in Septembers beta... This year I understand why they don/t have the time to do these things this year..

What do you want:

This years reward is Kimono Yukata per Rep post a while back on the JP side and the swim suites they said that's only for those that participated in previous one... but if many players push it might happen :)

you understand there two teams right? one for 1.0 and one for 2.0 so anything made for 1.0 wont delay anything.

And you do Realize that 1.0 is coming to a close within 2-3 months with Beta starting up in September. They don't have a lot of room to Delay the current version at all really. So dealing with the lore and battle content is main priority.

The few dev team members left for current version is working their ass off for us per last gamewatch interview so we'll see how much they can do. After reading that interview I kind of feel sorry for them if it's really small group trying to push everything we're getting right now with this limited server capabilities current FFXIV has.

So...people who didn't play last year by their own choice (when the game was free even) are now complaining they missed out on certain items when you know...you coulda logged on at any time for free (at that point) and done it.

Never mind that this is probably jumping the gun: FFXI had NPC's that sold you items from previous year's events.

Stop whining over faping material, that's all the swimsuit is.

I'd really be disappointed if we couldn't get the swim suits this year! I was definitely looking forward to getting them since I couldn't play XIV last summer ; ;

EDIT: Also, it would be silly that f2p subscribers would be allowed an item that p2p subscribers wouldn't have access to. If there was a subscription fee back when the suits were released I could see them being exclusive, but there wasn't so it doesn't really make sense >_>

To be honest the ones that missed this event do not deserve them at all. The game was free to play at that point in time and everybody was able to get these without a problem.

What you don't realize is that those swimsuits can attract more potential customers for your bazaar, and increase profits.

I also find it funny most of the posts here are complaining about complainers. Really, this is the nature of a forum. It's useless to tell me not to whine.
Look at that thread where people are complaining about a jump toggle option. Plenty of people there that could use your wisdom.

Those 2 statements are what is wrong here. I am paying monthly for a game where I won't even have access to vanity items that F2P people had access to. That doesn't seem fair to me.

And "without a problem", really? Did you perhaps forget all the lag/latency issues that plagued the game when it was F2P? The sole reason it was F2P in the first place? And everyone wonders why people abandoned ship to another online game?

As long as they don't punish those of us that WERE there by not having new content, then it doesn't really matter to me.

Just do the same event again on top of the new one. I can only imagine that the code or whatever is still there.

What is all this f2p p2p nonsense now?

The game was never meant to be f2p, and money was spent on purchasing the game disk.

Just because SE decided to not charge a monthly fee because their game sucked does not mean it didn't cost everyone last year money to purchase the game, nor does it make it an f2p title at that point in time.

I love the mentality though:
"I didn't show up when the game had no monthly fee but I am here now to make sure I get legacy status! GIMME SHIT I WASN'T HERE TO OBTAIN WHEN IT WAS FREE!"

I am flabbergasted.

People didn't want to believe in this game a year ago, quit, missed out on a bunch of content, and are now demanding that content/items be provided to them because they missed it due to their own choice not to partake in the game at that point in time.

I can understand people who weren't able to participate, I refuse to understand people who want everything handed to them when they couldn't be arsed to stick around for the content in the first place.

And over some freaking bikinis. How is this a serious thing? Really.
