Samurai Zantetsuken = 1 Hit Instant Kill, 1-5 Players in a single swoop.

DRK Salted Earth = Mass Kill for them, cause Players fail to get away when there are 2 or more DRK's using this Spell. We have only 1 Purify and most times there is no way to get away ... so you die.

Ninja Shukuchi = they get away to 99%. Nearly impossible to Fight, except you have 5 or more Players using every damn Skill and Spell they have to Kill 1 Ninja. So Players just let them run away and give up to Fight them.

Summoner has only 1 Damage Button ... LB the rest makes so less damage that I wonder if the Dev Team was blind, ignorant as they tested Summoner Damage. And Mountain Buster fails so often that it is not even worth to use it.

Warriors can fight forever till they get killed. Alone you can't kill 1, you need a whole damn Group.

A Bard LB is so useless that I wonder why it gets even used.

A Sage makes too less Damage and needs to long to cast a Spell. If there is a Sage in Frontline ... then it is a new Player or someone leveling Sage.

Frontline is a sad Game and with every change it gets worse. Since the last Moogle Treasure Trove, Players don't give a crap for Points, Kills, to Win. No matter if you are 1th Place or 3rd Place. The Rewards comes so or so. They ruin the Campaigns for the rest Players who tries to win. Thx God that I will be soon Series Level 25, for the Armor.
After that I will give lesser as one Fart on Frontlines, I loved to play Frontline everyday, 10 or more Campaigns but right now ... no Thx. :(

SAM is cringe but it's even more cringe seeing 5 people dropping to the most telegraphed Zantetsuken in the world. If you're a job with a shield put it up and bait it on you outside of your group of people who are clearly mentally AFK. Then /laugh and /sweep the SAM.
If there is no coordination from the other side (most cases on EU/NA) you can flash guard and run away instantly. DRK alone can't kill anyone but maybe one ranged that doesn't have recup bound, it needs other hard hitting LBs, guard breaks or just coordination in general in that tight window where everyone is packed up (as MCH I like dropping turret then either Bio or CS on everyone). I agree it's an issue on JP DCs though. At that point it's just awareness and preventively backing off if you sense a DRK murderblob approaching, and then just wait for your chance to counterpinch the DRK murderblob back.
Assfuck NINs with blota, but they really should down the strength of their shield. It gets way too big at BH5.
SMN has Aegis (amazing) and great aoe damage outside of Bahamut.
Warrior is a tank, and it's also mega squishy outside of LB (FL DR aside but that goes for all melee) once they've used up CC. You can't solo anything in FL, you need a group at all times.
BRD LB is the Spire, it's great.
SGE is good and has literally only one skill that needs to be cast, just like RDM it's just hard to perform well with.

Why should you be able to 1v1 a warrior?

It's a tank job, it's supposed to be able to stay alive for a while, and without a bh warrior is most likely not gonna kill you neither, it's great in group settings to prevent one person from getting away, but by itself it's just a job that's gonna stall or prevent a cap or something.
Also why warrior specifically and not the other tanks, you aren't gonna 1v1 those neither?

A good bard Lb at the right time means you'll get the most points out of the big pillar/ice if the enemy doesn't have a bard.
Only thing it needs is for it to be instant, not stun yourself for 2 seconds, that's the only bad part about that lb, but the buffs are pretty good if used at the right time.

I had my own way with playing frontlines and influencing teams before 6.1, but after the change there was no sense of wandering around alone. I did try and give grouping a chance once again. However, I gave up entirely once I saw how worse things are being in a group. It's been a year since I did frontlines (until a couple of days ago), and I do not have any regrets dropping it.

Summoner got nerfed because people were turning frontlines into summoner's rift (lol). Regardless of the nerf summoner is...somewhat still abuseable. Damage is nerfed? Okay. I'll just summon Phoenix every time my team goes in until I get a bh3. Only risk is diving in. Sucks that they got nerfed over the Bahamut burst. However they're not useless.

Main issue right now is how unwinnable Shatter is, probably because it's more dependent on ice than BH, the former being completely random and unreliable.

Yes, with the new skills Frontline Is unbereable if taken seriously.. it's like a rock paper scissors between 3 Jobs.. i personally chose ninja cause i dont premade. In my data center you can ALWAYS see at least a premade of 3-4 drks that at the end of the match Will have top Kills. The only One that can kill them Is me via LB. At this point It Is like a minigame for me: "kill the dark".

The fact that purify can't be used to protect you from Draw In effects is enough to say that Draw In effects shouldn't exist (stares at you DRK). It's getting so tiresome going into PVP and fighting a group of 2 or 3 friends going DRK/DRK/Insert-3rd-here-normally-DRG that do double Salted Earth which just ping pongs you then a DRG lands on your head.

People might say "Oh, you can do this too, it's strategy!". Sure, it's strategy to have 1 class be able to pull in numerous people into a spot (let alone if there are 2 of them) and another land with their LB for massive damage. It's even worse when both DRK hit their LB as well WITH the DRG landing. Legit just wiped out ~14 from my team and around ~10 from the enemy team.

3 People coordinated should not be able to do this. Remove draw in effects and just turn Salted Earth into a 2sec heavy if hit by it and have the explosion allow a -30% Healing done debuff for 3sec or something.

The correct response to a DRK+DRG combo is to guard the moment you get hit by salted earth and wait a few seconds. It won't work guaranteed but it seems to be the best chance of surviving.

That said, I think the bigger problem is battle high in general. To be blunt, it just scales too well with many of the limit breaks from the rework. Getting hit by a DRK+DRG combo when everyone involved has no BH can still hurt, but it's survivable. When that same DRK+DRG combo has built up some BH however, that's when things start to get stupid and things just snowball worse from there. And it's not just DRK and/or DRG, it's basically all of the AOE LBs that can cause similar nonsense when BH gets rolling, but DRK and DRG just have it the best right now.

All those classes are honestly pretty balanced by themselves. Warrior is the only one I agree with, but I do think it has more to do with the glaring issue of how much damage reduction everyone has. 30% DR on half the jobs in the game is rough and it makes it hard to do anything by yourself compared to before they buffed the DR on every job.

Thank god I was done farming all FL mounts. Now I just do it for the memes. Can't really take it seriously.

The biggest problem in this game is , mele characters are not really mele, even samurai and every other mele job can hit you from a massive starter range.... I play with Bard, and at this point i feel stupid, because my buffs are worthles, my dmg is worthles, and a NINJA does more dmg at range than any other ranged character in the game. The normal mele range is massive, mele range needs to be like 2-3step from any character, not 10+ like it is now. Dark Knight Salted Earth is another stupid thing, it has a massive range, it's 2 almost 3 times the range of the skill animation effect. Tanks are invisible if they know how and when to use Guard, the MP is regenerating to fast so by the time guard is over they can heal again even if they started at 0mp when they hit Guard, Guard itself just have to big of a reduction ... 90% that is just to much, at this point Frontline is totally destroyed.

Nice to see someone thinks that way. Recently I have been learning to pvp as BRD and I just thought I was too smooth brained to understand the whole LB.

BRD is Shatter king. The ice has no DR at all. So all the buffs you put out get full effect on them. Slap on the buff, stand near your party and win the majority of every ice you fight for. The real problem is that your contribution isn't really a seen contribution. You job is just buffs and silence and that's all.

DRK is out of hand in Frontlines. Here's a match I had earlier today:

Salted Earth is crazy enough on its own but the fact DRKs get 10 seconds invuln on top of it means there is virtually no counterplay. Even if you manage to avoid the wombo combo, there is no way to punish, they will get away 99% of the time and then the next DRK comes in to do the same thing. The fact Purify immunity doesn't work on knockbacks/draw-ins just makes it even worse, since multiple DRKs can just ping pong you to keep you in place even through Purify.

At the very least I think the LB needs to be adjusted. 10 seconds of invuln is just too much on top of Salted Earth. Even on PLD the invuln is pretty bad but at least PLD is just annoying instead of a massive disruption and potentially lethal threat. I would like to see a change that lets you break invulns with enough damage, or allow some abilities to pierce them. Otherwise could potentially just shorten the duration. Salted Earth could potentially also have a cap on the number of players it can affect, plus allow Purify immunity to negate the suck-in.


There are some other annoying jobs like Ninja (way too much defense, range and escape potential for a melee, plus crazy LB that lets them build BH better than anyone) but nothing as drastically game-changing as DRK premades. The whole reason 24-man Frontlines was removed was because of premade dominance, yet here we have 72-mans where a 4-man premade with the right class combo is enough to steamroll.

I have no major problems in FL mostly playing DRG/MCH/RDM.

DRKs aren't actually a problem just bait em and force their LB up asap.

In other hand Samurai Ult it's what ruins the whole FL experience, there is nothing more annoying than having 3-4 Sam's diving with chiten.

I f*king dont understand how ppl can teleport down from big heights without taking damage on varios jobs, and if i try to replicate the same think instead i take damage. (example, drg backflipping but also others)

I do that on BRD a lot! The backjump just teleports you to the ground with zero damage. Broken AF, but well, it is what it is.

Yeah, this. I like to pvp as SMN. But they nerfed Bahamut to near uselessness. It doesn't even do 20% damage to anybody, let alone a tank or melee that is stacked with DR. I don't even use Bahamut anymore (it only does actual damage in CC, but no longer in Frontlines). Better to use Phoenix, and only for the dots. Especially on DRK so when their ridiculous salted earth, shield, LB, invuln combo dies off my dot will kill them. I can completely unload on someone and I'm lucky if I do 30% of their health. Meanwhile, I'm made of glass and anyone else can kill me while I have practically no defense. All SMN is good for anymore is trickle damage or just go after objectives, Maybe the occasional slow (since they took our stun away too) that will help my teammates kill someone, if it even does any good. A two second slow that only works maybe 30% of the time is pretty useless compensation for removing something that actually helped us. If they're building ranged casters as glass cannons, they need to buff our damage more. Or give us more useful defenses.

Beyond that, it's an endless chain stun clownshow. There's no skill involved in PvP anymore besides whoever presses the stun button first or the most. Stunned, pulled, stunned again, pushed, then one-shot killed or killed in two hits. Or I'm killed in one hit by a melee from across the map (which is also ridiculous).

Might as well remove Purify from the game. It's worthless. The Resilience buff doesn't do anything. Clear one stun and there's six more right behind it. Guard is only marginally better - I get to live for 5s more before chain stunned immediately and killed. Guard's cooldown lasts so long that the meager 5s of damage mitigation doesn't help anything drawn out and requires running away or baiting the enemy toward more teammates. But the kit is pretty worthless for ranged otherwise if there's nobody around for support.

It shouldn't take 20 people to kill a ninja or a monk. They nerfed SMN's Bahamut for the big power, but what about DRK or NIN killing 10 people at once? This isn't the same thing? Dial back the overpowered LB's, or cut down on the range of some of the abilities for melee. They're melee. Why should they be able to kill people half the map away? There's other changes that can be made if they'd ever put some time into it to make the formats more inviting to people if they seriously want casual people to play.

Frontline used to be a lot more fun. Now it's one roulette and that's it for the day. Done. If it wasn't for the series malmstone rewards, I wouldn't even be playing it.

Having to win 100 Onsal Hakai frontlines is genuinely a nightmare.
19/100 currently, once I’m done, I’ll no doubt not touch Frontline at all unless maybe once a day to lvl up a healer. It’s just bad.

Onsal it's the only fun map.
Perfectly balanced in terms of map size / traveling to objectives/ there isn't to much rng unlike Seal Rock and fighting for mid can be really fun.

All the other maps sucks, shatter or borderline unplayable as melee.

I needed like 1200 Campaigns for all Mounts / Rewards and thought that was slow. When I see it now and compare it to the Campaigns a few Months ago it got worse.

worst thing about frontlines is that there is always one team that will not cap nodes frequently/score or at some point in the battle give up and let the enemy team steamroll them

My biggest issue with the dominating DK+AoE strat, is how it punishes participation.
As a bard, I generally feel more useful popping my buffs and tossing a situational silence than getting too close, where a momentary slip and failing to shield at the exact moment will cost my team more points than my damage is worth.
The answer probably is to play an AoE job, but since winning barely matters anyway it's certainly not worth moving off my comfort pick.
