What are your thoughts on RPRs\\'

It's good.

I really enjoy it, granted I don't fully have the class down and I have never really played melee before. In my opinion, it is a great class for synced down content to be able pick up and play the rotation better than other classes.

It has a great survivability and damage mitigation tool kit. I haven't leveled up other melees so I have no idea what they have besides bloodbath.

The animations seem to be really smooth, least on female au ra, I can't speak for other races. (I haven't forgotten MCH Hroths)

I still wish the burst was more easily accessible but overall, it feels pretty good where it's at.

Climbed to Crystal with it in S2, good fun, lots of room to cause swings in fights due to your LB being so insanely fast to charge, pretty solid damage for how tanky you are, plus you have a gap closer/get away option.

Hmmmm, I respect your opinions, but personally, I think it should go back to the drawing board. It's one of those classes that can be overly punished for lack of coordinated teamwork, and the abilities are way too situational. But that's my opinion. I hope one day it gets reworked into a better, more forgiving class.

needs a damage buff imo

It's not a pure dps melee like some others. It's doing pretty well on the mass CC/support/heal side of things, while still having a pretty good sustained damage overall.

Reaper is essentially a throw pick in CC. Lowest DMG, trash burst, and when you LB they're just gonna Purify and then stun you. Literally any other job is better.

You can't purify Hysteria.

The problem with Reaper at least to me its the long CD's and low damage.

it’s a pseudo-tank. and i think it’s pretty decent in cc. i haven’t played it much but i think the tankiness plus the crowd control from the LB makes it viable enough to play if you really want to.

The tankiness element of Reaper I feel is a bit skewed in their favor, their bubble can absorb pretty much absolutely anything that isn't an execute ability, which makes it intensely frustrating as the system doesn't seem to register the shield is gone until well after it has been popped by an enemy attack.

End result, if they are getting LB'd, 9/10 times the shield absorbs it after the audio cue has played out even if another attack broke it first. Heck, have seen it happen in a 2v1 situation too, guy got away clean despite it all. So great for Reaper players, annoying for anyone else.

Tactically speaking they are great point breakers, and their mark shouldn't be underestimated, even interrupts people trying to elixir up after you've given up the chase. It's basically better than when it first launched, but is very much a specialist, outside of that one additional factor that people fighting them will likely contend with.

I would call it an advanced melee class, it absolutely requires teamwork to shine as the only time they're good at soloing is when their enemies can't fight back and the mark is active, they otherwise lack the staying power of other assassin types. I suppose you could fear people off cliffs too, but that's less about its role as much as positioning.

So really, only issue with it is the bubble, or rather how that bubble interacts with the system mechanics. Otherwise it suits its purpose. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a bug, or simply Reaper being so ridiculously thick it can survive anything, but it sure feels like something is off anytime engaged to one.

I started playing PVP after 6.1 update and in that time I've ONLY played RPR and what I have to say about it is:

It feels like its a Pressure Class, if you're able to keep the pressure going with your Crest, Harvest Moon and Recup abilities you'll be able to survive a long time in 1v1's even against Tanks or DRG's. You'll have MORE than enough time to build Soul Reaver stacks. The issue I see with RPR's (the VERY few i see and even get to duel) is that people back off or run a lot. Don't be scared to keep attacking. Usually that pressure makes the other person want to run away giving you the advantage in chasing or at least make them go defensive. Plus you have Harvest Moon (which you can throw) to pick up that HP if they get far enough. Now ones of the issues I run into is IF the other person is keeping track of your CD's for Crest & Warrant or by denying you the DMG you would ramp up or shielding on your LB, Warrant Burst combo. Course that being said, you cant just Ogga Booga buttons, you gotta watch your own health too there is a lot of classes that kill you way quicker than you can if you dont keep your HP up. TBH the main focus for me when fighting isn't their actual HP bar, I want to wear out their MP bar so I can get the chance to kill, if that makes sense. Unlike other classes that try to set up CD's to down you in one combo.

But in CC while things are ideally the same, wear down and pressure, there's things that can stop you from doing that:
The first thing is of course them knocking you out before you get to do anything cause they know that downing you starts your stacks over or you rushing/chasing at bad times. (Blame the bloodlust)
The second is your team not being aggressive enough to get you ramped up & going. I've notice a lot of times when I lose (pushing my own mistakes aside) it can be because my team isn't aggressive enough for me to get stacks from assisting them cause they run away to heal up which I understand sometimes, or getting HP low enough to heal decently while Crest is down (bonus points if you get a group of low HP enemies) thus clipping your wings before you even get off the ground. But in CC things can get pretty complicated so kind of hard to say things about it, has a RPR I feel like we have the obligation to adapt to our team comps, since we are not the ones that are dropping enemies quickly by ourselves.

There is ALOT more to it but I am not trying to type a thesis I didn't even mention the LB much. Honestly I believe that in its current state, RPR is a great class, IF you know how to really take advantage of its sustain abilities overall. It took me a while before it just kind of...clicked. That being said, you aren't gonna be rolling heads or anything, and if you're chasing a kill counter THIS IS NOT THE CLASS. Reapers shine from the shadows helping the team kill marks that, if not with your pressure, would of gotten away.
