As long as it's optional so it doesn't ruin my characters, I don't care either way.
Although, if they did add alcohol, it would be an interesting effect if you drank a lot, you would start getting a beer belly. -

While I'm all for as many character options as possible, would it make sense for out characters to have beer-bellies? Considering we're adventurers/soldiers, we're supposed to be in good physical condition. But then, we do have lalafell doing as much DMG and tanking as good as a Roagedyn, so I guess my point has already failed lol.

That's exactly why I want to be able to make not-so-beautiful characters. Not saying I won't make any pretty characters, but I certainly want the option to not make one that is pretty. It adds more variety and "realism" to the game, in the sense that a world inhabited by only pretty people is kinda... well, unrealistic.
