It's the lag. 6.3 did something screwy to the client and networking code causing frequent lag spikes and client crashes. I've been crashing every 10 minutes or so ever since it came out. They're working on it. Lodestone post saying they're aware of the issue

Its not lag for me but I can confirm we have a bug report on it now. If it was lag I would take hits from aoe attacks. I tried today same issues with the Mudra still if you haven't check the bug report area other Ninja's are reporting it as well. In Allaince raid no one was lagging at all. So its strange if I was lagging I would see other ppl just stand still then tele across the screen. It seems to be mudra only for me other skills not affected.

I thought that I was having a stroke after the patch. I can't say exactly what's wrong, but the way that they go on CD looks and feels different - it feels like I can't quite press them as quickly as I could before to queue them or something. Anecdotally, I've had several Raitons turn into Fuma Shurikens since the patch, and that wasn't an issue previously.
I haven't had any crashes, nor have I noticed any particular lag. Mudras have just been weird.
Visible network lag has only been part of it. Mudra's probably most noticeable with the short cooldown, but every now and then it'll hiccup my casts too. You know how sometimes you press an oGCD and the game just pretends you didn't? It's been doing that with GCDs lately.
I don't see a post where they've noticed the issue with it.

Same, I'm surprised it wasnt even mentioned in the latest "Known Issues [...]" post as this bug was pretty obvious Day 1 of patch 6.3, at least I know I saw it and thought it felt unnatural.
Makes P8S prog a bit maddening whenever my Hyosho gets thrown into the void in the middle of a party buff window.
Hopefully they take care of it in the next emergency patch, whenever that's going to be.
They made a dogshit networking fix to lower bandwidth that "Works in Japan" and it turns out that it doesn't work anywhere else outside of japan, the maint did not fix it so expect it to be ignored for several months if not forever.
I even contacted in game GM's on the matter for this. This is a bad bug for Ninja's since the release of patch 6.3 even the hot fix didn't do anything. I don't have every classed leveled even though I been playing since 1.0. I take my time to level things and enjoy my time in the realm. This has left a bad impression with so far. They need to at least say we are aware of the bug and now looking it. Not one mention of it from the Dev's or nothing. Please any SE staff give us something to know your listening on the issue at hand please. Ninja is my favorite dsp class and it needs to get fixed asap. Please SE fix this issue. This is a in game bug affecting our game play and time.

but til there's some word the game is Basically Unplayable for me, since ninja is my -only- functional combat class.

I think RDM has had a similar problem with Dualcast. I've also had it happen some on SGE with Eukrasia.
It's some weirdness where it's KIND of lag but not EXACTLY lag. On RDM it manifests as you cast the first spell, maybe get the Dualcast buff, but you try to cast a second spell and it insists on doing the long cast unless you wait ~1 sec or something. Had the same thing happen with Eukrasia Dosis/Diagnosis where I hit Eukrasia, the UI element lights up and the animation plays, but then it tries to cast the regular Dosis/Diagnosis spell unless I wait a sec.
Thing is, it's not doing it all the time, it's just kind of here and there. So some weird networking thing. There's always some weird glitches after patches, at least they seem to be aware of it and working on something.
It has been unplayable for me, as a leveling character, not able to cast Huton with Mudras has been a real problem, the two more common skills are Huton then Suiton as opening that allows me to increase my damage without hide... Now it's all over the place, I hope they can fix this timely
I attempted to post about this bug on the Japanese forums but because I didn't include the entirety of my computer's system information (which is about as relevant to this issue as what I had for breakfast this morning) it got ignored and moved to the "insufficient info" forum. Apparently they're much more strict on that side and I don't really care to try again.
i saw at least one jp forum post abt it (or at least, linking to the thread in duplicate bugs bout it) so it does seem global. which puts to bed the (frankly uuuuuh kinda crass and ignorant) rumor that it was caused by something that "works fine in japan" - it clearly dont work for anyone.
i'm not sure that it's the same as the issue rdm/healers are experiencing because a friend who mains tank/healer didn't know what i was talking about until they tried to play as nin. then it became extremely obvious.

NIN was the only Job I had left to level to 90. :( I'm bunnying mid-burst and it feels like carp. Honestly my only relief in this moment is that it's not just my awful ping causing this.
On another note, whilst you're mentioning the bunny... I think it's about time they remove it and add a small potency attack to compensate for getting mudra wrong...I mean it can still incorporate the bunny in some way to show the mudra failure but at least give it SOME form of attack with a little potency.. nothing drastic just enough to not make it a wasted gcd.
Dancers don't get punished for inputing their dances wrong and monk gets a consolation attack if the enter their masters gauge wrong with celestial revolution.
The bunny is way too antiquated now imo....
I wrote a ticket yesterday to the support (in game bug) I hope you all did that too :) That way they have to read it.
I was having this problem and thought I was going crazy because no one else in my FC noticed it. Ninja is my favorite DPS class so I really hope this gets resolved soon. The mudra are literally the fun part of Ninja and having them get lost and muddled is beyond irritating
This is also occurring for me. This is affecting every player that does not live near the servers. This needs to be fixed before the 6.3 ultimate or else a lot of ninja players will need to swap jobs for progression. Please fix, thank you!
Hello, just adding my voice: if there isn't a long pause after inputting the first mudra, the second will not go through, causing the wrong cast, or a rabbit to appear ruining the combo.

This is really frustrating as ninja is a face paced job and having to pause sort of defeats the purpose...as well as kills all fun.
I was wondering why this thread is under classes and jobs /dps roles and not under reported bugs...I hope anyone from SE ever reads it

They didn't say anything when they closed it, whether the hotfix was supposed to address this issue or not. (apparently the issue is still persist)

Yes, that is strange, I thought when I (and many other ninjas) report it ingame to the support there is a result in any form... but they do not mention it right now. Wrote to the GMs yesterday, that I find it strange (and asked why they put the original ninja bug thread behind closed doors)... sigh it is frustrating
got a message from the GMs today, they wrote it is a known bug and they try to resolve it as soon as possible

i havent heard from the in-game ticket yet. for a brief moment this morning i thought it'd been fixed, but then it began again. i guess it's related to something server-side, then, since a low player load (mornings, east coast usa on fairie) it wasn't as pronounced as later on (after 4pm est) when more people are logging in.
I was excited to start playing Ninja, but it's really disheartening to play with this bug
so here's what has come down the grapevine to me in terms of what's causing the bug. clearly im not a programmer so stick with me while i translate it into nin-main-brain.
something something something, the update -first- runs ninjas thru the PVP code. probably because more people pvp ninja than main it. while its doing this, it puts our mudra on the PVP mudra timer.
then it goes OH SHI- WAIT YOURE NOT IN PVP and changes it
so basically we're getting stuck with PVP timer for like, one mudra. and because we're not in pvp, it throws everything off.
here's hoping the upcoming update fixes it....

Nothing about NIN mentioned in these notes for 6.31.
can also say its doing it for me with dancer on the dance steps make me wonder if its doing it cause of the changes to sambra and curing waltz?
Still not fixed, as expected.
I was hoping that this issue would be resolved in the latest hotfix, but it is still present. And I see no mention of it in the known issues list, which is sad.
It is possible to play around it, just by delaying your actions after the first mudra button press by half a second or so, but it is a bit difficult to keep track of when you're in a frantic situation, and it's easy to mess it up.
I just hope this isn't an issue that takes months to fix, especially considering the fact that it's a problem that was needlessly introduced. It definitely makes ninja much less pleasant to play.
There is only the way to report it ingame to the support, until they fix it. I am disappointed too
Just checked the patch notes, scroll down and you find it.... at last they wrote about it as a known issue
While it is annoying, it truly isn't that big of a deal, particularly if you don't have pre-bug muscle memory.
If you were interested in NIN, I would still recommend playing it. (As a general matter, you're probably better off not lettering forum/reddit doomsaying dissuade you from trying things.)
