Why does WAR get more healing buffs? Why don't they ever buff DRK or SCH the same way?

This isn't the "full emergency rework" they made it out to be. Some potencies got adjusted, dots removed, and bulwark added back.
Overall, relatively tame and lackluster.
Mch finally got the thing... but still has issues.. Hey SE! Fix Mch aoe, flamethrower still useless af and queen/turret needs aoe damage...
I think the only thing that really confuses me is adding a new ability for tanks to disable our tank stance. We could just use it, and then tap it to turn it off before. Simple and effective. Maybe there's something I'm missing here, but that seems...off, and very unnecessary.
If the stance buttons are toggles, good UI/UX practice would be for the buttons to change color or shape when active so that you can tell by looking at them and nothing else whether pressing them will turn something on or off. It would be a good thing if this is how they handled it.
However, we have some conflicting signals here. The updated Job Guides don't show "This button cannot be assigned to a hotbar." so maybe they are extra buttons. It would be better if they are still the same buttons, just color changing to indicate state.
with how stance buffs work probably still works the same
just if you want that buff off right away you push it
I knew they would nerf nin to the point monk and drg would become the only melees worth playing in pvp, again.
I don't know why they nerf MNK's Riddle of Earth into 2 mins cooldown that only gives 10s damage reduction and self regen?
Old 3 stacks RoE was way better than this...
Yeah i knew it from the start, pvp ninja was too good, and it would just slowly get nerfed until it tips over into the trash. They need to fully rework it, not keep nerfing it
This change is probably for level syncing content like dungeons and fates. It’s so annoying it gets turned off when you level sync. The way it is going to be now makes it so raids will be the only time you need to turn it off if you are the OT. I think it’s a great change.
Old RoE is a penalizing ability, which many players - myself included grow sick of. The old RoF would reduce the amount mitigated once you start using weaponskills, which is absolutely horrendous, especially in fights where damage is coming out consistently like Barb EX. You really did not need the three stacks, especially when taking this penalty into account.
What this does is gives MNKs even more sustainability than they already had before. RoW+Bloodbath could already be used for essentially what was a pretty powerful regen effect, and now they have two, plus a consistent 20% mitigation.
To me about the tank stances is that they might be thinking about bringing stance dancing back as Atonement if you look at the job guide has a thing stating that it can only be used while under Iron Will. I'm so glad you can use Curing Waltz and Shield Samba while doing your steps. Also glad Bard in PVP won't be missing out on the damage increase from their LB.
It just makes for smoother weaving. Disabling a buff effect normally has a slight delay attached. It's one of the reasons why the old Defiance/Deliverance swaps were so smooth, because you never disabled a buff on WAR, you only activated them. If this addresses what I think it does, it's a QoL change. Hopefully they had the sense to make the two effects share a button, though.
Those PLD changes are....wholesome. I'm personally still not liking them on paper, but will have to try it firsthand when the server comes up!
Psstt! For every buff other jobs get in their damage, especially in their burst window, are also a buff to our Chain Stratagem! :p
People heard PLD was changing and immediately looked to what happened to summoner. Y'all are sad. :rolleyes: It didn't even lose all the DoTs. Circle of Scorn is still the same.
Divine Veil finally got its overdue update and more healing got woven in. Overall, there were great changes to that and other jobs.
It kind of is. Now you just burst Fight or Flight and Requiescat together instead of using it separately. Goring Blade too, it looks like. It does kind of lose something not using Goring Blade as often, although we use Holy Spirit instead.
They did. WAR spams Storm's Path and PLD spams Royal Authority. WAR does Fell Cleaves sometimes, PLD does Holy Spirit sometimes. WAR uses Inner Release, PLD uses Requiescat.
Where PLD is better and has been better even before this, is they have a whole extra combo after Confiteor, whereas WAR doesn't have a combo after Primal Rend (hint 7.0).
What helps break up the 1-2-3 combo compared to WAR is that PLD also gets to spam 3 Atonements regularly.

Sword Oath is one of the two statuses granted by completing a melee combo. The other is the new Holy Spirit/Circle booster. The PLD basic combo will be:Quote:

I don't think you play Paladin if you don't know how much these changes do to our rotation, it's not summoner levels of rework but It's pretty massive a lot more then any recent change other then SMN. It's not "small adjustments"
EDIT: just adding circle of scorn is nothing like how goring blade or valor worked, they were strict and always apart of our rotation, Scorn you press on cooldown lol.
I hope the PLD change is decent, because those potency changes look oof at face-value. But idk how those line up anymore, so... who knows, it might pay off.

Dang so when I read that I remembered that Sword oath used to be the name of one of the stances for PLD. And I had just read the Iron Will removal thing so it stuck in my mind when reading the Atonement section. As I had been pondering why did they give a stance off button. Which is still confusing and unless we need to actually use it all of the turn off X for the tanks button isn't gaining a spot on my cross hotbars. Doesn't mean that they're not thinking about going back to stance dancing. Not that it worked well since all you ended up doing is gaining enough enmity so that you could then turn that stance off in order to dps better. Which would go against their whole we want to make things easy on everyone mentality they've developed. Even if stance dancing was slightly more engaging.
Where's the range increase for Succor on Scholar? Nobody asked for a separate button that turns off tank stance. Nobody asked for a buff to Shake-It-Off. Warriors are not the healer, stop acting like they are. Where's the removal of the MP cost from The Blackest Night? Where's the raid buff for Machinist that people keep asking for? Square Enix has heavily failed their players with this patch.
