No.
It is already the one of, if not the most, reactable and counterable limit break in the game - and actually requires some skill, planning and timing on the part of the user. Unlike all the single click win buttons, Ninja, Monk, etc.
You can, as a matter of fact, see the status of limit breaks on the enemy party list which should clue you in.
If you make DRG red, then you should make anyone else on the enemy team using their LB appear with a neon sign about their head telling you what to do to counter them.
Easiest LB to counter in the world, just walk away. Just Guard. Game even tells you if they use their LB.
What makes more sense is if they changed the color of the DRG on your own team to green. That way when both DRG on opposing sides LB at the same time, you can tell which DRG is which.
Tl;dr Its annoying seeing my own teammates pop guard when I'm using LB.
Guess they should've kept SGE LB to only one color too since you can just look at the party list?
This isn't a matter of gameplay or countering, this is an accessibility issue. DRG LB marker is obvious by itself but when you have a job on your team like AST with a bunch of blue explosions going out, it gets harder to see it. And also what Sinstrel said with ally DRG LB, it can be a little frustrating when your own teammate forces you to look away from the fight to see which DRG just ulted.
You can go into character settings and set PvP effects to limited.
What all of you are suggesting will completely kill the usefulness of the LB unless it's used in conjunction with another LB, such as WAR or DNC, which happens only one in a million times because you're playing with randoms and when it does happen is completely by accident.
Go complain about any actually problematic LB.
lots of fragile drg in here bloviating as if the request is to gut the class. i dont see any other smn's complaining about my request to change the visual on the circle.
So if you can easily identify DRG LB by turning off visual effects and looking at the party list, what usefulness are you talking about? Being a noobtrap ult?
I think regardless of the color change, it's still a very strong ult for contesting the payload. It forces you to either use Guard (if you even have it up) or run away or else you die. It's an ult made for teamfights, so of course it's most optimal use is through the use of other teamfight ults, but it's still very useful for getting others off your spot and super strong in overtime.
I'm not saying DRG has the most problematic LB. I think MNK and MCH's LB are the dumbest designs and I want them to be reworked. But anyone can still talk about anything they have an issue with, regardless of severity
The color is a red herring, depending on the map floor colour/tint it will be hugely visible (volcano map, blue on red), or hardly visible (palaistra, blue on sea green). Making it a different colour whether it's an enemy or ally would therefore change literally nothing but swap the maps on which it's easier to spot or not.
It should be made different, or maybe keep it that way, but just change how the one from an ally looks like. It makes no sense for usability otherwise. The absolute worst though are the SMN circles. What an eye sore.
What about Seiton,, no problem with? MNK is problematic as well, but MCH actually requires setup to pull off, and at very high level, the correct targets as well, because otherwise people will survive it and it will be wasted. MNK doesn't care about any of that, and will stun lock the target for ages on top of charging faster.
I think PvP as a whole needs more visual clarity and better colour/shape design.
TC needs to spend less time whinging more time gitting gud
How about no? The blue ring is already way too obvious and its outright the most reactable LB in pvp. Making the circle red would make the LB literally pointless to use outside of just escaping. Its use offensively would disappear because it would become ridiculously easy to avoid.
imo the circle shouldn't exist at all.
TC could be referring to Frontline specifically instead of CC. This change would be useful for Frontline and wouldn't really matter in CC since DRG doesn't seem to be as prevalent at higher tiers.
Hello Towa, I haven't seen you in forever!
I think the big difference between the two, in my opinion, is their use. Sage is not an offensive ambushing LB, and I think that fact alone is enough to have different standards.
Though if we had to make them both the same, I'd make them both blue instead!
I would LOVE this but it might be a little too much, lol.
The limit breaks in general need to be worked on. Half of them can easily be shut down or rendered useless and the other half deliver massive advantage immediately with little to no counterplay. The friend or foe colors for all markers should be a thing regardless. It really is an annoyance in Frontline and occasionally in CC.
That's a you problem then.
There's no reason to gimp a LB because you can't be bothered to look at the multitude of visual information on the screen with the obvious jump animation, a big blue circle moving around on the ground and the party list UI showing who has LB up. Maybe stop getting tunnel vision and pay attention to your surroundings.
To be frank, I keep seeing total party wipes even in diam/crystal. Not saying the LB is exactly easy to pull off right, but it still seems to consistently keep getting people off guard. In lower leagues and casual, almost nobody notices it usually and 4 out of 5 players eat it in the face. Not seeing a big issue with it myself tbh. If you want to pull it off easily, just wait for a big brawl so that your blue circle is completely hidden by all the visual effects (playing with visuals off is a big disadvantage on its own so that's not really a counter imo).
I wouldn't mind a faster LB resolution for it tbh. 5s is probably too much at high level (but definitely not at low level, it's one of those LBs that literally wreck entire teams of casuals but drops in efficiency at higher level).
The LB wouldn't be gimped by making it possible to immediately discern your team's from the enemy team's. You're not dunking groups of people at skill levels where such things matter, anyway.
yes its a me problem, thats why im asking for the visual to be changed, because im old and cant see it. accessibility is not gimping anything. reducing its radius or damage would be gimping it. please stay on topic, and stop trying to make it about "skill" like a typical toxic egotistical pvp player. ive already stated i can barely see it when i use it myself. i only can see it when i use it because its directly on the middle of my screen, and still barely visible.
it is also to the point of not being able to tell which team is using the LB, enemy or ally.
So riddle me this, what exactly is so gamebreaking for DRG's viability if enemy DRGs have a barely visible pink translucent marker instead of a barely visible blue one? If your argument is focused on keeping their LB ring hard to see, then color shouldn't make all that much of a difference. If someone wouldn't notice a blue marker on top of them, odds are they wouldn't notice a pink one either. If AST's LB and MCH's turret have different color indicators for friendly or not and SMN has a visual cue to indicate as such, I don't see the problem in asking for a different color of equal obscurity to the original. If you have a problem with that, what you're really after is leaving DRG's LB ambiguous just for either CC matches where both teams have a DRG or in the fustercluck that is Frontlines where the argument for changing the color is is a bit more warranted, but their adjustments for job abilities never get made solely for Frontlines.
Anywho, do I think the PvPpersonteam is going to adjust it? Probably not? Not unless they decided one day to go on a LB-adjusting spree in some odd patch. I believe DRK and NIN's ground AoEs are of the same issue where there's no indication of whether or not it's from your teammate, you just have to know, of course those 2 are hardly as game-changing as a LB. I don't agree with making the marker any more visible, but the argument to having a different color is valid.
So we should make the most reactable LB in the game even easier to counter because you're bad? Got it...
I was pointing out why its fine the way it is right now. If you bothered looking at my earlier post I'm completely in favor of the circle being gone altogether. OP wants the enemy teams DRG circle to be red, not teammates. I don't really have a problem with a teammates circle being a different color, but the color is fine the way it is right now for the enemy team.
seems like egotistical toxic pvpers never miss a chance to leave their comment. its no wonder the devs pay little mind to the pvp aspect of the game, or these threads. too many unsupervised children using the boards, such as above.
I'm going to mindbreak all DRGs I see this season. Please look forward to it.
kids cite "reality" when the "reality" is there are no clear indicators of which spells are friendly or hostile (which is the request), in a game where the entire combat system is designed around such indicators. humorous, to say the least.
one can argue here that the only users playing "victim" are the ones who think this is a demand to nerf one class LB, when it clearly is not. some may find it helpful to return to remedial english. many board users are using words or phrases they do not clearly understand the meaning of. the result of a generation being raised online, and not in school, i wager.
DRG LB is good at making people spread out and away from the crystal or force them to use guard. Making the circle red and easier to spot would relegate it to ONLY that strategy. No one would ever get kills with it ever again because it is outright the most reactable LB in the game. It has a delay between the jump and when it drops. The LB shouldn't even have a circle at all and force people to pay attention to their surroundings and to look at the enemy team list to see who has LB's or not.
Sorry that you're not good at pvp.
a fragile egotistical pvper has once again turns an accessibility issue into a "skill issue" by taking personal offense to a simple request (which they have seemingly confused for a discussion). says a lot about their own personality, to be sure. apparently this user also doesnt know you can just activate the ability after use immediately, therefore eliminating any "delay" they may be facing. a learning moment for some? im happy to be of help.
"not good at", someone for sure is. im not that good at seeing things, as i am older and slightly impaired. others appear to be "not good" at other things. critical thinking, humility, basic deceny, among others, it seems. hmm
