PvP Hub needs a makeover.

Look, I love Limsa Lominsa, and the rest of La Noscea. Its rolling fields, cliffsides, jungles, forests, and gorgeous coastlines make it a favorable location.

HOWEVER, the PvP zone is a bland mess of mismatched boat parts. I like how creative it is, but isn't it time it got a makeover? I think it should get an upgrade, and look more like the established parts of La Noscea.

If they want to drum up more interest in PvP it should look like the realm cares about it. I don't think the boat that is so iconic in the Wolves Pier should ever be gone, but the dock should have a more brick and mortar type foundation. I want to see grand looking flags, and a sense of cultural regalness. It should look more like a beautiful fort built in the middle of the ocean rather than a rag tag looking mashed together mess of planks.

To be fair this is a place where ex-pirates go to let loose. It fits that kind of aesthetic imo.

That may be but whether it fits the lore or not, it is still boring.

Broken pieces of wood in middle of the ocean is exactly fitting for PvP in this game :p

Look, I get it when people like that aesthetic, but a prettier pvp zone would attract more people into PvP. You really don't see people just casually sitting and hanging out as much.

I don't think the PvP hub zone has much weight in how people mind PvP.
Most of the time you aren't even there as you don't need to be to initiate a match.

I do think that's the last thing on the list of my worries for pvp right now tbh.

Overall wouldn't rate the hub as too high a priority, as it's mostly just a training/sparring ground. But since it's the topic of the thread, personally I think the biggest issue is that it's thoroughly disconnected from a lot of the game world, even the Gold Saucer is more integrated. Almost everyone ends up there, even if they're just skipping past all dialogues and following quest prompts and thus ending up there by accident. PvP has a similar introduction quest, but not only does it require more cognitive input from the player as it requires manual travel to what is essentially a remotely travelled location with no air travel shortcuts, and new players are given what is almost a throwaway explanation of things when you get there, which can make it difficult to make it stand out as "random location you get to by a particular boat waypoint."

Overall, I'm more worried about how well integrated into the world the hub is, and how it explains the mode versus the aesthetic appeal. There's very little reason for new players to stick around there outside of setting up their hotbars and cashing in rewards, and maybe getting into practice duels with whoever else is around.

SEnix absolutely know presentation is key, given how they go about their cinematics. I feel that lesson is missed with the PvP hub/tutorial zone, I certainly wouldn't suggest simplifying what players need to learn; just make it something they can see more readily in the hub dedicated to the mode. At present the hub is nice, but serves little purpose, and has the downside of being remote when compared to its PvE counterparts.

i think they should implement a new pvp zone in ul'dah's underground arena too, would be nice since it was part of the games lore and constantly shown in the gladiators/PLD story as a playable area. But I get what OP is trying to say kinda would be nice to see it get an upgrade. A full Relocation of Wolves Den should accomodate for new features to be added to it. For instance, NPCs ability to initiate duels for 1 vs 1 2 vs 2 and 3 vs 3 standing right infront of a caged like arena. A two slot increase to training dummies expansion so instead of four there could be six. A new Public or Free company based tournament mode introduction once classes are completely balanced. For those kind of events. And possibly mini games like various excersize regimends and dart throwing to virtually feel like you're apart of the game with each of their own control scheme setup.
