...but no hrothgar npc for the tiger year....
Whats a hrothgar? Isnt that a mountain in Skyrim?
Can he wear an ugly helmet, though?
A whatgar?
As much as I like male Viera, it's weird that we got back to back events starring one in the main role. It would've been nice if a Hrothgar was the main NPC for the 2022 Starlight event.
Yeah that was a missed opportunity. I'm just sad we didn't get a FATE where we battle a killer rabbit.
I mean I wouldn't say other races (aside from Elezen) get called abominations, but people playing catgirl have been jeered at pretty hard for playing the harlot race.
Yes, zoophile. Source: I got called that. In-game, no less. And with a Roegadyn here insinuating that me finding it disturbing means that I'm one.
Still 100% uncalled for. No one here called Vieras anything insulting, so why the need to throw stones?
tbf I blame the game for the way Miqo'te are received by some people, because some portrayals lead to stereotypes...
More so than them being kemomimi characters.
Look no further than dancers at Ul'dah.
Alright. Then I'd like the same for those other people. Because if I went to those forums and threw that around, how would they feel?
Especially when it's asking for more attention to a race that's literally the most behind in terms of design and representation in the game and community. One whose limitations further convince people to stay away from it and not stay or change to it, reinforcing its niche status.
Like, you're right that random people with bad glamours shouldn't have an impact... but they do out of sheer virtue that it really feels like Hrothgar is an acceptable target for really garbage takes. More so than other races.
I don't dispute that other races get comments, but I doubt they're as bad as Hrothgar. And when it comes to asking for support, why throw low blows like that?
Is it so hard to give people a grace you don't agree with but that they deserve?
Lalas get called pedophiles, Au Ra are the groomers, Roes are the ugly race, Miqos are the whores/prostitutes...I can go on if you'd like.
(If it wasn't obvious, none of those reflect my own opinion on said races)
Also I haven't personally seen anyone in here saying Hroth and Viera shouldn't have support (unless youre referring to the abomination comment) so I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly. All I've seen in general about Hroth and Viera is a vocal crowd trying to push for more hats and things for the two races.
Most races get labeled with a stereotype and mocked for it. Female roes get called special snowflakes. Lalafells get called pedophiles or they are treated as jokes. Male aura have a meme about them being groomers. Female mi'qote and aura get all the pervy comments and mocked for being unoriginal. You ain't special.
I had to check if I accidentally double posted lol. But anyway, right you care!
Female viera belong in the same category as female mi'qote and aura.
Male viera are either fujoshi (women who like boys love manga and gay fanfiction/shipping) or straight men who previously played male mi'qote but didn't get enough attention from women for being cute catboys, so they switched to more androgynous cute bunnyboys to get noticed instead. Whether it's succeeding or not... donno.
Interesting! I could see that. I usually wear tomboyish/androgynous glamours, and have been mistaken for a male viera on several occasions, so I hadn't thought much about the "sexy" stereotypes that female viera are subjected to.
Thanks for answering my inquiry.
That's so weird lol and sadly us bunnies and cat dads can't wear said item so...
Bun Boys are popular. Simple as
Yes, other races get called stuff. But you know what those other races also have? Support from the devs. Players. Representation. The comfort of actually feeling like the devs give a crap about you.
Should stupid insults by idiots bother anyone? Not really. You know what sucks to see though, in a thread asking for hrothgar support? Some moron coming in and basically saying you don't deserve anything. We definitely DON'T think we're special lmao.
Idk how long that one's been around, I've only noticed it in the past year and I have no idea what started it.
https://tenor.com/pt-BR/view/the-dar...y-gif-18212973o_o what happened here...
Don't mind me, just sticking my long neck in here to see what all the commotion is about.
Despite the rude-rabbit* derailing the thread, I personally appreciate all my Hroth friends and would love to see them represented next time the year of the Tigger comes about!
If we keep pushing it, in 11 years there might also be appropriate hair, hats, and the ability to fully use stylist by then.
Happy western new year, 新年おめでとう ございます , and Happy Lunar New Year for the 22nd coming.
(*Also, in the Zodiac, a wonderful relationship match is a male Rabbit & female Sheep)
It's a good and honest request. They just don't know you are married. Besides there are steps and they are skipping them!
Hey how are you? What's your name? Would you like to get some lunch? Hey can you crush me to death with your thighs?
Whatever happened to romance?
It's a shame.
I genuinely wonder if it's because of how hard the bozja storyline was slammed by critics. Like, what if instead of attributing it to poor presentation, a dull buildup, a writing style that barely tries to pull you in, and an unsatisfying (borderline enraging) conclusion, they just assume people hated it because there were lots of burly hrothchads? Can you imagine? What if they perceive boybuns as just an easy win? A slam dunk, if you will, because their perception of male viera fans is "oh they'll just enjoy anything," but the one time they went all in on the hroth stuff they got panned so hard that they had to kind of finish it in a tweet and the writer behind it hopped on a train and left.
This isn't a call to never be critical again, mind you. This is just me loosely wondering if we'll ever see serious hroth centered side-content ever again or if bozja will have left such a sour taste in everyone's mouth that the devs will be too paranoid to utilize anything but dainty pretty boys from here on out unless it's hildibrand. God, can you imagine an MSQ quest where we force feed Graha a fantasia and turn him into a hrothgar instead? Because something in the plot demands it, of course. Or maybe into a male roegadyn? Or a male au ra? Haha. Imagine. Anyway
