leveling for relic weps

anyone else grinding those DoL/H levels because you dont have enough gil to buy the overinflated weapons on the market wards?

*waits for a final step to include farming and handing 20k of some item, crushing everyone's dreams of getting a marginally better weapon*

nope..... already did this planing ahead of time that i would need gatherers lvled only diffrence is i did DoLs on my mule to make it worth paying $10 a month for her

Lol....yes, I am. Funny thing is, I'm realizing how much better off I am leveling DoH and DoL anyway.

Someone has their double melded weapon for 200mil in the wards. Like wtf?

You know these people that craft these items probably have twice the amount they are selling these weapons for. I'm still in shock that that's what they want us to do for Relic Weapons. The lore is nice, but it's almost not worth it.

yeah, im over the shock of it and now im just angry about it all.

Most of them are barely better then what you can currently make anyways. Unless they upgrade into something better in the future or have some hidden properties like XI's relics, these will quickly be replaced. All are upgrades for sure, some better then others, but factor in the time and effort needed to obtain one....ugh.

If you have every craft leveled and access to all abilities, it costs about 125k per Obelisk crafting yourself (flawless piece should be 50% HQ, or Ingot is 50% HQ -> Garuntee flawless HQ)

Durandal Savage Mights are 500k so about 1m per meld at 16-18% rate.

An average double meld would cost about 8mil or so; selling it for anything higher than 30m is probably not going to have anyone buy it. Buying Obelisks off the MW for 2.5m each makes this cost closer to 22m (on average) but I can't see how anyone is going to buy one for 200 or 400m >.>;; People that have that much money have it because they don't spend it....

Considering we only have one or two major patches on the schedule before we start buckling down for 2.0 I would imagine that these weapons will be BiS for the rest of 1.X and are likely purposefully designed to take as long to complete.

i have not even attempted mine yet....its making sick thinking about it.
but i have friends who melded on first try and some that went 0/12. its just disgusting how much its based on luck rather than actual effort. Must be nice to buy a weapon for 2m right off wards and just meld it first shot.

50mil in my world i still not going to buy that much for that. i think 10-15mil is more then enough for the wep /melded for the obelisk at least.

Double melds on Masamune are hovering around the 20-30mil mark and even that is insanely over priced. Can't even finish the quest yet so I don't see any reason to pay such a silly price.

People with iwantit-itus are always willing to pay the new shiny tax.

People are paying 50-75M on Excalibur for doubles. Given that some of the doubles are about 5M worth of materials it's not too horrible if you don't feel like taking a chance. I personally didn't buy it but the option crossed my mind.

Yeah I'm probably going to start selling double melds for 2 mil or less, the only stopping point is the materia since I'm having bad luck with tier IVs atm >.>

I already leveled DoL/DoH because aside idiotic undercutters, it's the best way to make gil in this game since you can be like an native american, use every part of the beast.
