Monster actions and old actions

Some of you may ask yourself "Hey, why is that enemy casting Scourge II on me!" It's sad that some monsters just can't let go of the past... Well, those instances of monsters using old actions will remain as-is in the current version, but they'll be updated in 2.0 to reflect the action reforms that took place previously.

In regards to the version 2.0 UI image that was released in October of last year, as this was an in-development image which was released prior to the action reforms, the actions names listed are old. While adjustments and preparations are still being made for version 2.0, we are planning to edit some actions and add a few new ones as well; however, the actions that came with the action reforms will basically stay the same in version 2.0. With that said, we do not have any plans of reviving any of the “xx II”, “xx III”, etc, actions.

Can't wait for mobs to stop nuking me with Shadowsear.

Yea its pretty annoying in Hamlet when mobs can conal aoe Bio and Poison and Shadowfall your Doh/Dol

fixed short version: We want to make sure 2.0 doesn't suck so we're going to do that instead of fixing something that's going to change anyway.'

Imperial Signifiers can cast Shadowsear in Castrum Novum. Massive lolz when one mob wipes your entire party in one move :p

If anything I think this has to do with Shadowsear randomly breaking in 1.22 lol

Good! I much prefer the actions that scales up and down with your level. :D

Would it be possible to tone down afew of those old attacks though?
Mage mobs are twice as tough as your average cookie currently.

Gotta admit it, I will miss Ahrimans and the like Shadowsearing the heck out of me.

Hope they add back the removed skills in 2.0. Character customization right now is non-existent with no alternate advancement/talents system and only 5 skills from 2 classes for jobs. Some classes have been over-simplified because of the skill rework (THM went from enfeebling/dark magic to "faceroll to win" for example). More skills means more customization, skillchains, combos, and more active combat which is the basis of the majority of the current endgame.

I like FFXI magic system better.

I agree. More diversity than what we have now. Right now our classes/jobs are stripped down with so little to choose from with customizing. It's sad. THM could've kept it's moves prior to the reform, but once you upgrade to BLM, you GET those Fire/Blizzard/Thunder from the reform. That would add more to what we already had.

EDIT: On top of that, I really do hate the enemy NPC races (that are akin to ours, like the Footpads, Assassins, etc.) that use all of our old moves prior to the reform. They are very difficult to take down, especially the GLD and ARC ones. Red Lotus Blade takes quite a chunk (124 damage for me) while the ARC's one bow technique dispels my Protect buff. It's so annoying. PLUS the CNJ ones can use all of the elemental spells >_<
