Oh no the whole Light Datacenter has ~7500 open Plots. So many potential homeowners who could make use of the outdoor furnishing.

Most of those are FC-only plots. I check often, at least on Odin.

Tons of FC-only. Very, very few private plots and they always attract a ton of bids.

Probably based around a pass / fail mechanic like the earlier one that was designed for controllers.

Every active fc on Odin has a house at this point. There's been fc housing available for, uh... I think around 6-7 months at this point. And there are still so many that never get bids every round. You could make a new fc.

Who's talking about a different region? EU got 4 new worlds back in July. I was just on my Alpha alt and there's a couple of hundred personals still available in Goblet there alone.

If anyone EU wants a personal house, there are plenty left. Go for it. Or don't but at least stop complaining about not having a house.

If anyone NA wants a personal house, there are plenty left on Dynamis (except for Seraph). Go for it. Or don't but at least stop complaining about not having a house.

The housing arguments aside, they could've just given players ... y'know, an indoor tree since it's Christmas and all, and that would've made everyone happy regardless of their housing situation. Far as I know, the last time their xmas event gave an indoor tree was 2015, and now you either buy one for 8mil on the marketboard from people who did the event back then, or you hand SE 5 dollars if you want it in your house and you weren't fortunate enough to be around at the time. Loving how this thread is quickly filling up with disingenuous "just uproot your existence and play on some dead world if you rEaLLy want the housing square advertised" arguments though, really feels like the housing section in here. Hell, the tree doesn't even have leaves. It just looks like a dead white trunk and some empty branches with lights. My FC's house has a packed front yard and it's hard to justify even making room for it if I'm being real.

I'm not a fan of the mount either (it looks scrawny), but that's just a personal preference thing.

I feel like they could've done more with the mount? Like it's suppose to be a Christmas mount, but it just looks like a regular animal..

They could've put ribbons on it, some red or green, a cute overcoat with Christmas themed stuff on it. There is so much I could see done to it yet it's just bland ,_,

Back on topic can we talk about that tree. It’s a dead bunch of branches with crappy soul dead led lights thrown haphazardly on it. It’s terribad. When I saw “lit tree” I fully expected a beautiful tree with multicoloured warm lights, not a Halloween tree lit up with the lights of dead souls.

Same. Both look so bland.

The Canadian in me enjoys the caribou and just wants to see the expansion that sends us to the new world that much sooner.
The tree is... alright. It'd look better with proper snow below it and the current options for snow on the ground is those drifts and the piles, both leave a lot to be desired. They make the indoor snow platforms piece together super well, but the drifts outside clip horribly no matter how you jigsaw them together.

I Love that Mount. But the Tree ... even the Grinch would cry.
I have no House but every Event brings Outdoor Furniture ... what should I do with all those Items?
Guess this year we go with full Rage and give Santa an uppercut and some punches.

I do like the overall look of it, but have to agree with "haphazard". Why is only one of the upmost branches fully lit up while others have a single strand of lights? It looks lopsided.

No, I understand why players find it ridiculous. Quite frankly, I'm one of them. It's why I keep pushing for improved instanced housing. It's been proven in many other MMOs to work. No player that wants housing goes without. No player has to settle for a tiny housing location they don't really like because another player already owns what they really want to have. You don't see the housing availability complaints in those games that you see here.

But it doesn't change the reality of how the housing system in this game works, which is little different from real life. When you can't get a house where you live, you move to where they're available if you want one that badly. If you're not willing to move, then it's obviously not important to you.

The addition of data center travel means moving to another world would be similar to moving to an adjacent county for a house. You still get to see your friends but it's going to be less frequent than in the past when you had a chance of bumping into them on the street. Or maybe not - could be you're still "working" in your old county so you can visit them after work on a regular basis. There's not anything stopping you from talking with your friends at any time through the various social media platforms and Discords, same as real life.

Take advantage of what reality is offering, or be miserable because you can't get your fantasy. The choice is yours in the end. When something is important to me, I take advantage of what I can get at the same time I ask for continued improvements.
