A small Feedback to consider for Summoner to be more interactive Thank you!!!

Hi I am a big fan for this class, and job.
I really enjoy playing it since it is one of the most welcoming classes to play the game.
Also it is a class that allow you to level up two jobs at the same time which is very convenient to get familiar with the game for 1 dps, and 1 healer if you wish to improve your experience with all type of classes on the game.

I loved the previous summoner which was a very good on doing long spell combos for damage, and offered good utility to increase DOTs. I love the changes made to make it more a summoner class, but miss some abilities, and maybe to have more summonings. I miss for carbuncle to have actions to be more present on the summoner experience.

For that, my feedback on this is the following:
I think you should allow for carbuncle to have an auto-attack that works as a support attack whenever you cast ruin for a single target or cast a aoe support damage whenever you cast an aoe spell to hit multiple targets, that will make it more useful than just be a pet at your side. I love the fact, that carbuncle is your catalyst to summon other egis, I think that was a brilliant idea. But we can also help carbuncle to be the one who cast DOTS instead of us, so it can cast them anytime we hit a single target or Multiple targets. with that it will be a very useful improvement for it. And of course, we control manually whenever carbuncle cast the dots.

Also I wish to bring into this feedback that maybe adding ramuh shiva, and leviathan should be the time to do so as egis, to make it more dynamic and maybe Odin as a finisher as bahamut, and phoenix is so summoner can have a improve rotation to balance with its damage, and of course make it one of the best classes.

And please allow for summoner to have a healing ability that works at least as red mage to have a bit of healing too, thank you!!

I love summoner I think it is one of the main jobs that define the franchise for its importance, and job maybe this feedback can provide some ideas.

I hope people can make this feedback to be reach to the devs so they can see it

nah we have phoenix for the bit of healing. physick should be removed from summoner completely.

carbuncle does not need more to do. pet code is jank at the best of times and can still ghost actions if you happen to mis-time them.

more different summons? maybe perhaps there can be a second different set after you go thru the first cycle, but really it would just be visual flavor only.

Radiant Aegis is ridiculously strong for how low of a CD it has and it has 2 charges.

The only dot I can think of on a Summoner is Garuda's wind puddle, which is a type of dot if the enemy is standing in it.

I agree with you, but I know SE and they are thinking 10 years ahead of us. They are obviously planning summons like Ramuh, Shiva and others, but they will gradually be given to us every 2 years for the next 10 years. They could give us it all at once, but they are a company and they can either give us a slice of the cake or the whole cake. Only giving us a slice keeps us wanting more and makes us excited for the next slice in the next expansion.

The previous summoner design couldn't have managed this, but the new one definitely can. All they have to do is cycle through more than just Bahamut, Phoenix and the others.

Phoenix is extremely good. It just heals the party and the mitigation is good too.

It's been discussed quite a bit in the DPS section. We'll have to wait and see what happens in 7.0

The heal can go. Maybe they could convert it to a barrier cast.

Carb is traditionally meant for support, but the main reason it doesn't attack is because pet autos were one of those issues with the previous SMN build.

Some new summons would be nice, just for visual flavor. I wouldn't want to lose something like the gap closer in the second round.

Man I'd love just flavor reskins of the egis/summons. Make them side quests for the job, and make it so they're literally just reskins of current summons. So like, Leviathan could replace Garuda (has a watery AoE instead of a windy AoE), for example. No change in mechanics whatsoever, just visual differences.

Carb should go, it's useless now and Pet AI is too dumb to have it do something meaningful.

Heals and Ress should be removed from Casters so they can finally pump more DPS without tax.

They will expand the kit one way or another in 7.0 , I'd like to see rework of Aetherflow system or at least change it thematically to Summon stuff with upgrades. Also where Demi-Alexander at?

I know they're clinging to Carbuncle for the sake of design consistency and all that... but it should honestly really just be dropped.

Pet AI is not the tea and Carbuncle's two only purposes in life are to give us a shield that we can very well give to ourselves at any time + be sacrificial fodder for better summons. I know Square would need to redesign a lot of renders and artwork. Potentially also having to redesign the initial Arcanist quests. But this is a sacrifice worth making.

You do know theyre not going to just get rid of carbuncles. Theyre too popular

If they're not going to get rid of Carbuncles, then at least let me use the Carbuncle gauge from level ~50 SMN please. It looks better than the Dreadwyrm gauge, fight me.

Ok real answer: Sure, but they can just keep it for the initial arcanist levels. Rather than have them follow us around, we just summon them for their attack\stance and off they go.

Well since were dreaming here, can we cancel Hrothgars? I personally dont like them and theyre not as cool looking in-game as they are in their official artwork. Theyre not that prominent anyway c:

Just kinda salty that theyre not as cool looking as in their artwork. Heck I wish Hrothgars had the same structure and model as the Ronso from FFX, those guys and gals look heckin cool. But what we got is just a hunched second rate furry roegadyn model with some awkward face types. They just dont that good in this game's in-game artstyle imo but this is totally just personal taste. Im very well aware theres a big community that enjoys them.......

There's still a handful of people who enjoys them unmodded. But you'll find that the people who enjoy the Recycled Roe body and the Hunchback of Constipation are a rather low minority. I get sacrifices had to be made but uh... #Choices. We kinda have to make due with what we got.

And Square made it kind of clear that they're not willing to go back to the old pet skills\AI aspect given how hard it was to balance and design around. If we're going to stick to the current design SMN has, the logical step really is to just rework Carbuncle.

Plus, I'm not even advocating for its absolute removal either, just for it to be the "initial form" until we gain access to "better" (arguably) Egis to summon. Make it show up, do its thing, then yeet.

Yeah I suppose just a changing it to where you dont need to summon it out in order to use the skills would work. Still think this is a very small complaint since I dont think people find carbuncles following them problematic.

lol, getting this upset over a sarcastic internet comment is funny. The devs treat hrothgars as the blu of races, it's not that shocking that many would rather them throw in the towel and focus on core issues.

A - I wasn't upset there? I was legit answering Atelier's comment that people only enjoy Hrothgar modded.
B - Yeah, it must be wonderful coming from the WHM of the races, eh?
C - Why are the Roegadyns suddenly bashing on Hrothgar anyway? I thought this was a thread on Summoners?

Edit, before y'all get your knickers in a twist: I played Roe for the most part until Hrothgar. Even at Atelier's random comment, I was just thinking "ok, wtf, why resort to that?".
