Homeworld Transfer Down?

Tried to transfer to Dynamis and:

"The Home World Transfer service is currently unavailable, or the website is undergoing maintenance.
Please wait and try again."

Hopefully it will be back soon.

Yeah too many people trying to transfer now lol

Have been trying for two hours now, no dice.

Sorry ask here but is it free transfer there? Been trying but getting charged. I thought going to new data center was free?

Only if you're not already on a 'new' server (in other words, all the Aussie servers) - you have to pay to move from one 'new' server to another, which, kind of makes sense, given that is a carrot to try and lure people on congested servers to new ones (a friend of mine wanting to move back to the US servers found this out the hard way today).

So unfortunately if you're already on a new server like the Materia servers, if you want to move to the Dynamis server group you'll have to pay for the transfer alas.

Ahhh that would explain it. I was invited to play ffxiv with players from materia but they no longer play due to different reasons. As NA resident hard to find parties and server continues to look more and more bleak with population especially at my time. Ty for reply.

I got thru early before the service clogged up. Also got new chars on each - Seraph is by far the most crowded, especially with transfer rather than new chars. Halicarnassus seems 2nd busiest, the 2 'M's have little or no queue and pretty sparse around city aetherites.

Been trying to transfer as early as 7am CST, still unable ..

Update : World Transfer Service is back up 8:50am PST

Doh! down again 3 mins later?

Took me 20 minutes to transfer from Balmung to Gilga. Seems lots are visiting the new DC must be why.

Ya running a scan on mine 30% are travelers and 40% are lvl 1-15 newbies. Not a ton of 90 direct transfers yet and the service is prob why.

Got both me & wife over the second servers went up. She was trying to get something cosmetic off mog station 15 min later and it was down so it got clogged fast

P.s get your apartments!

Finally got the transfer done but I've been waiting an hour for it to actually happen in the client. I have mixed feelings about it all.

note: you can only transfer once every 3 days. so if you already got one, you won't get anohter in for 3 days.

Oh man I need to check to see if any apartments opened up from transfers on my server.

The exception being if you're transferring a group of character with the same source world to the same destination world. I was able to transfer 3 of my alts together this morning without issue. My last now has to wait that 3 days because it was on a different world.

There should have been at least a couple. I ran into some familiar faces from Balmung on Dynamis this morning and they weren't Travelers.

Of course, others might have beat you to them.
