Well E3 has come and gone now and really didn't get much new info on FFXIV out of it besides a few screenshots, and info that the beta was going to start sometime late September.
Tokyo Game Show is September 20-23 so you think this is when we will get a ton of info and trailer?

By the time TGS is up we're getting ready for Alpha... if it goes on schedule.
My Guess
1. We should be getting promo site probably sometime this month
2. Some more info updated on promo site in July
3. New trailer with bunch of info on 2.0 in August
4. Near end of Sept. Alpha starts
YoshiP doesn't believe too much on hands on MMORPG at game shows since you only get to try so little and for those who don't know MMORPG it will just give them bad experience, even if you ask them to party up with other people at the show you are suddenly put in battle with ppl you don't even know and for instance if you play the role of WHM not knowing MMORPG you would run up to the mob hitting them.

The letter from the producer on the 28th said a 2.0 promotion site would be released shortly after E3.

Also, I think Gamescom is in mid-August - that might be when they plan to release the trailer, given the fact that they've stated their publicity campaign is set to start in August sometime.

I really hope we can see some gameplay videos after the website is online.
Yoshi told us in his last letter to get some screenshots (including a PS3 shot) and gameplay videos soon.
I don't think he meant the stuff coming in August.
