any older players out there?

im 38 turning 39 and havent come across any players close to my age in my travels. i wondered if there are any older players out there? would be nice to know one or two in game. light/twintania.

How old we talking? I turned 30 in September.

Not giving all my secrets but yeah. I'm an older man. I've seen quite a number in their 30s+ in Balmung so it's never felt odd to me there.

There's many out there. Maybe not on your server or DC. Heck I'm one of them. I tend to groan any time I hear most of the content creators call themselves old at 33. I just sigh and shake my head.

I know a few people in their early to late 30s in game.

Good to know :) I will keep hunting for them on twintania then.

Haha yeah I found myself sighing a little hence why I asked on the forum. Love the community etc etc but finding a few players who also can't remember school would be cool

There are older people who play, a friend of mine is 45 and plays. I've seen profiles of people in their 50s and older playing. I'm 41 and play. Yes we do exist.

Thanks Rannie, I've played for just over a year and hadn't come across them but good to know they're out there.

Heck during the 14hr broadcast Q&A a guy who said they were 50 asked Yoshida if there was a way to show how many older players had cleared savage and what not. So they're out there. I knew there was a reason I liked some of your takes. Ya geriatric millennial... :p

Pretty sure the average age of my static is like, 35-37

Indeed we do. I'm 46 myself.

I've run into maybe 2 people around my age... Feel like older groups are the majority.

Most of the people I know that play this game are over 30, and some are over 40.

I am in the older category for sure

I'll be 38 next month. Elders of gaming, unite!

KIDS! You are all KIDS! I am well into my SEVENTH decade of life. Old and afflicted I may be but this game has been a lot of fun. I just can't keep up with you young whippersnappers though so I mostly do activities that are more my speed.

We're out there. Just turned 43 here.

I just turned 52, been playing for 6 years. I play with a couple in their 60's and another who is 40 and have run into people in their 70s and 80s since I set up CWLS for oldies on Materia.

My dream is an over 40 raid team but am struggling to get the numbers for savage. At least we now have enough for a Criterion static though. I live in hope!

38, turning 39 in February 2023.

This old goat turning the half a century in 2 years time. Time hasnt been too kind to my reflexes or my anxiety levels. Nowadays I just do basic roulette tier stuff but in the end it's still fun times here.

I'll be 45 in December.

I am in my late 50's myself.

Years ago in LOTRO the very best tank I have ever healed for in any game was an 82 year old lady :)

I started this game when I was 32, now I’m turning 42 in December. During my journey here I got married, had a daughter and she now plays this game herself at 8 years old. She’s now my reason to stay active as I love sharing this game with her. My wife use to play, but very little.

My husband and I are in our late forties, and both my parents who are in their seventies also play. They stick to things they can do solo or with family, but they're very active in the game.

61 next year

So many kiddies... 75 here.

I would have played in my 20's, but computers powerful enough to store and run the game client just didn't exist then.

there are definitely some 40 years old out there.
I think there is also a granma who plays a lalafell who streams

and I know there are some players who play with their parents as well.
Though their parents might still be in their 30s

I don’t talk that much in game but one friend was 32, knew another friend in her 50s, met quite a few over thirty.
I think its more common than we think to have “adults” walking around as I don’t consider that as “old”.

If I go to Limsa Ill assume you’re all 5 though because all I hear is “wah wah wah”.

I'm about to hit 61, been gaming for a good 40 years. Most of the people I game with are 40+. There are a lot more of us out there than you think.

I'm in my late 30s and the bulk of my static are in their mid to late 30s.

In my late 40's, been gaming for more then 20 years. FFVIX is rather new to me since i joined 2020 all thanks i found a book that caught my eye and yes it was the Final Fantasy XIV Encyclopedia Eorzea Volume 1 ( i loved it :) )
So to answer your question we "oldies" exists ♥️

I feel like one of the Unsundered. Especially when keeping things relative to just how long video games have been around. First games I remember playing were on green screen computers loaded onto a 5" floppy disk. That was before the Atari era. It seems like ages ago, but even gamers in their 30's will be able to recall those days depending on where they grew up.

I'm in my 40's and still have my Qbert plush I won out of a crane/claw machine.
