When will we get the toilet furniture design contest winner?

Back in the 2019 furniture design contest, in which we are still receiving furniture pieces from in 2022, there was a winner for a mandragora toilet, is there any hint or clue as to when this will be included finally?

Usually when trying to simulate a toilet in game, we have to use MULTIPLE items to achieve the look, but with this handy item we can save some space at the very least. Please add this in.

This and a few other winners have yet to be included in game and its been nearly three years!!

I come to realize there is no toilets in this game.

Yet Japan is obsessed with toilet technology, this must be fixed.

People in this world just digest everything so thoroughly that it's reduced to nothing but aether. Therefore we don't require toilets.

It was a good design.

However, Yoshi-P has explained in one of the Q&A that they do not plan on implementing toilets in this game. One of the main reasons iirc is that there're different sizes of races in this game so it'd be hard to have a universal size of toilet of they'd need to design different sizes of toilet

Didn't the MSQ explain that the calamity left behind some sort of bacteria that prevented anybody from needing to urinate or excrete?

I could be imagining it, though.

I have been roleplaying the idea that my character doesn't need to use the bathroom anyway.

On one hand, sure. On the other, everything is stupidly oversized for anyone other than roes anyway. A toilet is effectively just a chair, lalas already have a step stool, why is the size of things suddenly an issue? And if it's such a real issue, release three different sizes of the thing, and then let us brain our way around which one we want to use. We've got the aforementioned step stool anyway!

Personally, I'd want a better excuse.

They say that but heck do you ever have seen a roegadyn or hrothgar on max height sit on one of the small stools? Or lalafell on any furniture that looks like the whole family could fit on one armchair? Sounds more like they make up excuses.

Considering some of those items on that page have been released recently (including in today's patch), they haven't forgotten about the winners. There's still hope, but you might be waiting for quite a few more years at the pace they're going.

When was this said? Because if this is their stance, why pick it as a design contest winner? Especially as this logic would rule out adding chair furnishings.

We have to improvise our own toilets out of cabinets and stools (heh heh heh) if we do not want to pretend that the WOL just farts aether all day.

The only issue I have with this take (even tho I read the interview), is that they chose this as a winner. There for THEY HAVE TO BE AWARE OF IT, I don't think it was chosen by mistake. Maybe yoshi himself didn't realize, remember, or choose it himself, but it was a winner, and as winner, its going to eventually be implemented (I hope at least). But yea...that interview did make me question this particular pick of winners.

I would like for them at least to touch on it again, because for some housing folk, this would be nice!

This thread is just bringing back memories from Phantasy Star Universe where I made an Alt named Toilet Fairy and proceeded to visit ppl's rooms and place Cosmo Fountains on all their empty decoration slots...

Yes, I know this is an old thread, but no point in making my own when it exists. Please consider adding this to the game~

I think much like hats, sitting in a sidecart of a motorbike, and toilets take way too much dev time.
I think the devs need rest to balance out and meet their quotas, its important to understand this balance.

Much success to SE, and much rest to the devs as they keep shining with their formula for the next 10 years and maybe more.

OP, bless your sweet lil soul but let’s just take a moment and reflect on the gravity of your post. SE….has been doing us a favor by not releasing toilets up to this point, under the assumption we just fertilize the bushes and roses. Because…contemplate the alternative.

As an adventurer, I like to exercise my godgiven right to jrpg-house-loot. This means, during my exploring of the neighborhood, I go in your unlocked house. . .walk up to your furniture. . .and hit the X button. I’m STILL expecting to find things like ‘charred newts’, ‘potions’, ‘5 Gil’ from odd places in the room to assist in my adventure. SO…as I’m going room to room. . .I inevitably come. . .to your bathroom. And if SE implements toilets…inevitably. . .I’m gonna walk in on you….just sitting there….quiet as a mouse….dropping bombs….destroying countries….blowing up civilization. And then. . .we’re gonna lock eyes. We’re just gonna look at each other for 10 seconds that’ll last for 10 years in the duration while simultaneously pretending you’re not doing something 100% natural with me observing.

Now. . .realistically. . .ask yourself. Do YOU want that kind of existential interaction? Do YOU. . .want the stranger that is ME. . .to know the intimate secrets of your pizza’s transcended state of being as you liberate it unto the great beyond? Dignity would suggest an emphatic no…and I’m of the opinion SE is simply trying to avert this potential awkwardness.

And yes. We could also have to fundamentally address the very real issue of lala’s clogging up the sewer pipes. No, I don’t mean getting flushed down the toilet. Lala’s. . .eat like fat greedy hamsters…so…
