Why does "The Island of my Dreams" look exactly like everyone elses?

I never realized we were all so un-creative, I didnt know that all of you also wanted an island with 20 random animals, 3 workshops 2 granarys, a windmill, lighthouse and bathhouse.

Infact I didnt even know I wanted that, my dreams are weird.

No one said it was a GOOD dream.

I'm hoping that over time we'll get more opportunities to make it more personal and unique. Presumably this won't go the way of Diadem and will instead get continuous updates not only throughout the rest of Endwalker but beyond that as well.

The cool kids have a fountain, not a windmill.

my island is empty i've only spent about 10 minutes on it so far and dont plan to visit it again anytime soon

If SQE HQ can convince Team 3 to monetise personal and unique "options" then im sure it will get many updates just mostly via the mogshop

Looking at blue mage, I wouldn't aim to high on those expectations. Might get one landmark an expansion and two animals.

It is a nightmare. There can be no other explantion for all those mammets being inside my supposedly cozy cabin.

I figured it was going to be like garrisons in WoW because, lets face it, limited space to build things so.. everything in its place.

I wasnt expecting much but I do hope they can use the island to expand our Grand Companies , perhaps make part of it a new outpost for them to train and go out on missions , perhaps even introduce a companion system so that they can join you as a open world party member for MSQ stuff or side quests , perhaps even give side quests a new reward so that they earn GCommand Minion Exp and GC Seals when they are out with you, plus add a new rank(s) with new things to buy in the vendor.

It would be cool if we could use dye on the buildings.

This is like asking why are there so many warriors of light flooding the streets and why do so many of them look the same.

Eh, maybe with future updates. It is after all new.

We are all the Warrior of light; the game is designed theoretically for me, or you, or that bunny over there being the "only" warrior of light. So just pretend you are the only one with a island. :P

To be fair they're not WoLs to you, they're only your companions/adventurers, buuut if you did ShB then they justify it with "yeah there's oodles and doodles of WoLS you aren't special lol" :P

I'm going to ditch the bathhouse. That thing looks ugly and if I need to bathe I have an entire ocean just down the hill. The windmill at least has the potential to provide some power.

This is why we were told to temper expectations

"it's like animal crossing and stardew valley!" sure, without anything that made those games good

I hope eventually there is actual customization to the island from the flora, to new animals, inviting NPCs, adding a house (that is also customizable), exploring new places & island events that let us collect special decoration items. I'd also like seasonal changes that are visible.
I want to be able to decorate & design everything so I can create the actual 'Island of my Dreams'
I hope that we can invite our friends to participate in mini games & events- These are things that made animal crossing & stardew valley fun

This lady has her dream island.

No difference with people's house to be honest, all of that option and they choose to use between Florist and Cafe Walls...

Not sure why everyone is complaining so much. The Island is perfectly fine and enjoyable.

They've already said they are adding more to it in 6.3.
We're getting another area in 6.4 or 6.5 to expand it further.

They've already exceeded expectations with what they delivered.

Perpetually at Rank 4 for this very reason. I pick at it because I want the glams but it's not what I was expecting. That being, Stardew Valley with minions.

Even your house in Stardew Valley lets you sleep in your bed alone. Not with mammets watching you in the open air.

Same for me. I got to Rank 4 and the tutorial ended, and when they said "congragulations! you've unlocked all the main features" I just noped out, and I don't think I'll be back.

It's Tataru's dream and you will enjoy it. Or else.

I heard that there are plans for duplicating roaming minions and adding roaming mounts.


When that happens, if your island is not full of Tataru minions and Cruiser Chasers, then perhaps you are more special than you give credit to yourself.

I want to play the original Doom in Gold Saucer.

I saw what develeopped islands look like and I noped. It's more Tropico than a farmign simulator, I'm keeping mine with just 2 worskshops and level 1 pasture and crops, without expanding. Slow gain but at least it doesn't look too much like urbanization inc bought it.
Tbh even the bathhouse is pretty ugly, which is some true goal considering the housing ones are nice instead.

We are all Kosh.

The island of my dreams has a house and customizable biomes. I don't think this is an unreasonable ask if they truly plan to continue updating the content.

I said something similar a day or 2 after the IS was launched. Something like: "What's the point of visiting other players islands when they all look nearly identical anyway?"
