I know this won't reach the people it needs to, but my goodness, the amount of people who never use recuperate or purify in ranked is staggering. It's as though they never even touch casual mode.

I was watching a twitch stream and someone had a teammate that used a potion for health while at full mana still.
Didnt u get the news?
Everybody is a pro player now, and knows everything from day 1.
No need to check things out.
And everybody needs to own like crazy, even if they dont spend much time in PvP.
Happy Neo Now.

From my perception, it's clear when someone:
- Doesn't know how to effectively burst a target down
- Doesn't understand the concept of staggering
- Doesn't have fast reaction time for Recuperate and Purify
- Doesn't know when to synergize LB usage or follow-up quickly
In addition, paying attention to your own bar and the enemy LBs is a rarity. You can see a SAM LB coming from a mile away, yet people still fall for it.
I cover a teammate and they are so panicked or unaware that they sprint out of range when they could literally Super Elixir directly on point.
This took me so much practice and I'm definitely still working on it, but the awareness has way more impact than whatever job you choose to play. Though whatever job you do play, it goes without saying that you need a solid understanding of how to play it.
No, I won't.

It'd only be safe when the crystal is travelling after a fight depending on where it's at. If it's at a 50% checkpoint, I see people sometimes trying to pot or push the spawn and wait instead of standing on the crystal with more bodies and decreasing the time it takes to clear the checkpoint. If the crystal is close to a checkpoint and respawns aren't too long, it's better to just use mana for the health and get on the point because that 50.1% may save the game instead of dragging out a long overtime.
circumstantial though. i do that. i will not waste my mana when the situation allows me to take it easy-it's also tactical. great for me to burst someone trying to get to me. some will rush towards you thinking that you need mana. most people don't look at the enemy target's status bar except for decent players which is not most. proof? chigen>zantetsu. the moment i see chiten with enemy's LB up i run the hell away in order for my smart ally/allies to not get me killed. i see this waay too often. even when i mark the samurai to ignore THEY probably don't even know what the marks are for. overall..the majority of people that pvp don't really study on the mechanics. i've turned around a match 3 times but only to end up losing because the other 4 screws up literally because they don't follow command. this patch made us able to call out that we're doing our LB and I believe the class that needs to use this the most are dragoons. i have yet to see any drg announcing that they're using their LB which is really bad because ally drg lb and enemy drg lb are the same and you'd end up using a guard or run away halting your attacking on an enemy you're currently attacking due to the miscommunication.
The inability to effectively communicate is what made me stop playing in the first season. Not that people communicate well with the tools we're given... but it would be easier to strategize if I could talk. Easier to pair up LBs, etc. But...I guess at least LBs can be announced? Sucks that I want the rewards, but CC makes me hate this game because no one knows how to play their job (and I can't help them), no one communicates, they run in one by one to die... and I can't queue up with any friends who DO know what they're doing, lmao! I really hate solo mode in any PvP game - a team that can work together and communicate and act/react proactively and strategically is always more fun... but 'every man for himself' is kind of how CC feels to me, and it sucks the fun out of an ostensibly veryfun game mode.
Guess I'll just suffer for the dragon mount this season, even though CC is a joyless slog of trying your hardest, only to not be able to communicate what's going on when the rest of your team is doing something they shouldn't...
The r/ffxiv definition of "PSA" is not correct.
doesn't really matter when you can get unranked players in ranked matches. seems like you can be queuing unranked to try and learn a job to be thrust into a match with Silvers and Golds.
