Been playing with my melds a bit.

I'm getting +1 yield up to 3780 Gathering. At 3794 Gathering, I get +2 yield so the cutoff is somewhere between the 2.

Aw man, I'm gonna have to remeld to hit those Perception Breakpoints... Teamcraft guides had me believing that Gathering was the end-all be-all. Should I take the Guerdon Materia off my main hand...?

It's not appearing in the gathering log, so maybe it's a drop from the Prime Collectibles?

+2 is 3790.
+3 Seems to be unreachable.
+2 on Bountiful Yield/Harvest 2 is at 3604
I believe there's also +2 gathering attempt bonus at 900 GP

Sublimes is low chance or I just having bad RNG at 1000 collectable?

I had the minesoph set and thought I was good, but apparently not lol.

No. Even the current best gear, Pactmakers, tops out at 3232 Gather, 3232 Percep, and 804 GP without melds.

The new Perfectionist's scrip gear also has the same stats as Pactmakers HQ. You can get to 3600 Perception using the standard materia slots (no overmelding) but there would only be a couple of materia slots left to increase Gathering and GP (plus food of choice).

I've managed to get 3607 perception but the unspoiled nodes still aren't showing. Is there something else that I need as a minimum? Everything I've read just says 3600 perception.

This may be a stupid question, but did you buy and read the Folklore books?
(The good news is, if you have, the game won't let you buy them again ...
unless you store them in a saddlebag, in which case, like some other things, the game doesn't always see it.
Which I learned the hard way with a Master Carpenter book -- two, actually.

I had a look for new Folklore books but didn't spot any. Starting to feel a bit dumb now. Is there a particular scrip vendor to visit for them? I thought the only one who sold them was Rowena's representative in Ishgard. However the locations don't match EW locations.

Thank you for pointing me on the right track. I checked the vendors in Radz. Found them straight away. Amazing how I can play this much and be missing so much.
