Where is the promised transparency regarding the 6.1 changes to Ninja and Samurai?

The Patch 6.2 notes just dropped, and can be viewed here:

We were promised that in time we would receive additional explanation as to the developer's intentions behind the 6.1 changes to Ninja and Samurai.


Samurai has since received additional changes; it has been an entire patch. When will we recieve an explanation as to why these jobs were changed so dramatically?


It has been great to see some additional insight in the form of the patch notes on the Job Guide page, here:

I would expect to see this applied to its original context.



I am placing this in General Discussion as this is more a question of delivering on promising transparency, as opposed to the jobs themselves.

It was said, any rationalle will be explained in the patch note reading, or previous live letter.

However I don't see a link up for that developer reading video yet.

You may have misheard / misread what they said. This is when they promised more transparency. Everyone else moved on from that.

Yea unfortunately they said going forward so i doubt they'll revisit the 6.1 changes unless they feel like they should in the 6.2 reading stream.

If you're in the FFXIV Reddit Discord server, search "Samurai" in the translations channel and you'll find something they touched on about both NIN and SAM in the 6.1 Patch Notes reading. I'm not on PC right now though so a bit handicapped on sharing screenshots...

No. The game keeps getting worse and worse because they keep sweeping all these questionable changes under the rug with a gross disregard for player feedback (JP and EN alike). It's been going on since 5.0. People are right to request more transparency from the devs, specifically from the job design team.

My Japanese is not the best, but they seem to have skimmed right over job changes in the note reading. Maybe they're saving that for last. Or maybe they're just giving us the run around yet again. I have no faith.
