Can we like claim the money from the timer? Or elsewhere? It's bad enough we didn't win the lottery with the other 500 people, it's annoying AND unnecessary to even be there to collect it. Please. PLEASE. Thank you.

It would definitely be better. Like myself yesterday, you have to do the sad stroll to look at the (in this case large) house now occupied by someone else.
The lucky winner was decorating the garden whilst I had to stumble up there in abject misery, shedding tears of hopelessness to announce my utter failure.
Ok that's a bit of creative phrasing, but you still have to go there with the current system.
It’s a great way to get people into housing wards and make them busy. People constantly complain their wards are empty. This fixed the issue.
What Walk of Shame? There's no shame in not winning a lottery.
Yeah! Even when I lose the lottery, it's always great to see someone who won and is happily decorating the house.
I always go up to congratulate the winner if I happen to see him/her while collecting my gil. The walk of shame is just a negative construct and you can personally choose how to view the act.
Even during the placard clicking period, people still congratulate the winner despite having spent hours clicking on the damn placard so I don't see why it can't vr done here as well.
I never understood the labeling of "Walk of Shame", you lost a lottery. It's not a big deal.
maybe should not place all your eggs in one bag and bid on medium or large? Try and bid on what got the best chance and for those few extreme or over populated servers like balmung, travel away to somewhere else.
Over Population = Causes problems.
I see plenty of houses on other servers and on my FC's ward on Zodiark one placecard has been available for weeks now.
Isnt that being updated this coming patch? The patch notes said that there will be an npc we can get our money back from. And if that's correct, they give us a poster on top of our money back for losing the house.
Lmao how does this keep a ward busy? People are just gonna run tf out as soon as they collect their refund, they probably don't want to see/interact with the winner all that much lol. Especially with stories about how the winner points and laughs at the people coming to get their refunds lol
No, that’s the npc for the voluntary payment of the house for those who got a house for free with the 0 bug. The sorry is for the delay it took them to sort the bug. If you pay, you can get a poster.
The patch notes explain the issue:

Honestly I love that they fabricate stories like this. It's like entertainment drama from roleplayers in the xiv community. It's entertaining to hear about. Since we have a lot of roleplayers in xiv's casual community, I imagine they're making it up to start something and rile people up, but also show what kind of entertainment we get out of it during content drought lol (like MTV and real housewives of Beverly hills)
Calling going back to collect a FULL refund from a lottery you participated in, a "walk of shame", is hyperbole at it's finest.
Having some personal experience of how petty people can be in this game, I can believe that it has at least happened more than 0 times lol. I mean there are screenshots of people writing salt-crusted insults in other player's message books right after the lotto round ends. Yesterday, a DPS in my Aglaia run was rescued, he said not to do that, the healer responded with "no, gonna do it anyways". I said to not be rude and got threatened with to be reported for telling them (the healer) how to play lol. Some people are just incredibly sad and it's not always for entertainment purposes.
Pettiness happens with ingame dungeons all the time. It's casual content. Toxic behavior will be allowed until the devs bother to actually do something about it (which almost never happens). I can give you 5 names of RMT traders- and they're still here in the same server and datacenter. Squeenix may post they removed rmt- but that just seems like they type random numbers and make stuff up. Otherwise, those 5 players would be gone. But people know how to loophole the system and stay within the radar (same with housing). If the housing issues were actually fixed like we'd think they'd be, these wouldn't even be conversations lol. But here we are!
I never got that, why oh why wwould someone pay like 50m for any housing item voluntarily?????? No matter how good it looked.
And if it was an amazing looking housing item other people would complain how they could never get it.
As to petty people, on the first mansion i tried to bid and lost, the winner was a very petty person laughing at everyone who came up to collect their gil. Left a sour taste that people can be that disgusting.
