It was a journey, that's for sure. But it was fun (Ok, it did get boring at times, and I had to take breaks here and there from burnout). But at any rate...
I enjoyed Crafting and Gathering Jobs the most, to be honest. Seems to be my go to for every expansion once I get that first DoW/DoM to the max level.
As for the DoW/DoM Jobs, here's what I have to say from my personal journey:
Tank:
Worst Job for me: WAR. - It just felt too clunky for me to be honest. I've never really ever liked it to be fair.
The rest of them were Ok...but I didn't feel anything "special" about any of the other three...which honestly is perfect IMO. It means I can just use either of the other 3 if I'm feeling froggy enough to hit up a basic queue as a Tank.
Healer:
Worst Job for me: SGE. Oy, I just absolutely hated it. Maybe it's because I prefer WHM...but it was totally awful for me.
Best Job for me: WHM. I guess I've always had an affinity for WHM...I'm guessing I'm not alone there.
The rest of the Jobs were "Ok", and felt on par with each other. But I'll always fall back on WHM I think.
Melee DPS:
Worst Job for me: MNK. I just really did not like the playstyle. And I never fully got the rotation down.
Best Job for me: SAM. That's probably not too surprising. It's so easy and strong. This is the Job I play Frontlines as (for levelling purposes only, because I HATE PVP, but this Job makes it not-so-bad).
I did enjoy RPR, but, the satisfaction was on par with both NIN and DRG for me as well.
Magic Ranged DPS:
Best Job for me: BLM. This probably stems from the fact that BLM has typically been my first max level Job for an expansion.
The rest of the Jobs are basically on par with each other IMO. RDM is a little strange, but it's enjoyable, as is SMN.
As for BLU...that's pretty much just only used for things like Moogle Tomestones. I don't really like BLU, and it's not that it's bad...I just, meh. But it's not enough to be added to my "Worst Job" list.
Melee Ranged DPS:
Best Job for me: MCH. That's probably not surprising. The rotation is pretty easy, at least for the casual content I play in.
Worst Job for me: DNC. Really, really, REALLY hated it...probably just as much as SGE. It felt weak and awkward.
As for BRD...while I didn't like it as much as MCH, I didn't loathe it as much as DNC.

PART 2:
Now, with all that said. I took a "casual" approach to levelling - I certainly wasn't power levelling:
I did the following:
- Daily Pixie Beast Tribe Quests
- Daily whatever-the-elephant Beast Tribe Quests
- Daily Queues: Levelling, MSQ, Frontline
- Weekly Challenge Log: 10 FATEs, 5 Player Commendations, 3 Roulette Dungeons, 5 Normal Dungeons
- Weekly Levequests: I did 4 "unique plate" Levequests as a DoL from The Crystarium, then went to Mor Donuts to do a Battle Levequest on the Job I was levelling. Afterwards, I did 14 turn-ins of the Level 70 "Built to Last" Tradecraft Levequest in the Crystarium...followed up by one last final Battlecraft Levequest in Mor Donuts on the Job I was levelling.
- Weekly Wonderous Tails. Again, with this one, and most people probably know, you can complete it on any Job...and then turn it in on the Job you want the XP from.
For Frontline, and I'm guessing most, if not everyone knows, you can queue as the Job you are levelling, and then swap to a different Job once inside, and you will get the XP on the Job you queued with. This is how I dealt with SGE and WAR, which I really did not like.
But other than that, following that route, going from 80-90 is like 1 week per Job, maybe a week and a half if I needed a break.
Anyway, thought I'd share...maybe someone will get something out of it, maybe not.

I'm damn near Omni everything before it finally dawned on me that I don't have to play these classes I don't like. Now I passively level classes I don't care about with WT...and that's if I remember that WT is a thing.
I've not bothered picking up Reaper...My Melee DPS I like is monk so I just don't use anything else. -

Yeah Ill agree, Warrior was the worse for me as well. Shoutout to all the Warrior Mains that Carried, but the job for me just didnt feel fun, and I hated the expectation to Carry so that healers didnt have to heal. Wow, same deal, I think Sage looks neat, but hated playing it. Part of my issue was trying to remember all my skills, I tried to line it up like my White Mage to make it easier, but then when trying to use some of my CDs I kept getting mixed up by the weird names. Its a shield Healer so naturally it has lots of Defensive CDs, but it just wasnt for me. Make fun of me, but I like White Mages simplicity...but also I just have way more experience with it.
I hate Scholar myself, but found it fun to play after lv...86 I think. Ast is alright, Im curious about its rework, might make it FUN to play again.
Melee DPS-
Aww, I love Monk RN, but cant expect everyone to like the same thing as me.
Reaper was really fun to me. Everyone else was about average for me. Not that I found them boring, just
didnt have as much fun as I did with Monk and Reaper.
Melee Ranged DPS--
I actually didnt care for the Rangers this Expansion. I was super excited for Machinist, but after getting to Max, IDK, just didnt feel satisfying after reflecting on it. I think MCH needs a little work. Less is more and I like things simple, but I think MCH needs a little extra.
I liked Bard and Dancer more, but they were still only kinda Average for me.
Magic Ranged DPS--
Black Mage never stops being good or Fun. Guess its not surprising since lord YoshiP mains it XD
Ive always liked Bluemage even if its niece in XIV.
Summoner....Ill be honest Ive never actually played the EW rework, but still I feel like its style isnt for me. Just never clicked.
Redmage I think is cool, but I just dont play it that much myself. I dont hate it or dislike it at all...I just dont pick it up and play it much..

My path for getting my jobs to 90 (other than my first job for MSQ) was pretty much this:
- daily MSQ roulette before it was changed (about 2/3 of a level if Prae)
- daily leveling roulette (40% of a level?)
- daily Pixie (worth about 1M experience for any 80+ job)
- daily ShB hunt marks (worth about 1M experience for any 80+ job)
- daily EW hunt marks (varies by level, but I think about 1.5-3M)
- weekly Wondrous Tails (worth about 1 level, give or take)
I did that nearly daily from EW drop to early February. It took about 90 minutes/day. Generally speaking, I didn't have to worry about queue times since I would queue with my wife. We more or less planned it out that when I was running a tank or healer, she ran a DPS. And when I ran a DPS, she ran a tank or healer. I got efficient enough with hunts that I started to notice a pattern and rarely referred to a one of those hunt mark maps.
Personally, I've found so much more enjoyment in the game doing content without a care in the world about gaining exp. Ever since I got all my jobs to 90, I started Triple Triad and got the Triple Triad mount. Wrapped up my skyward points for gatherers in Diadem and got the Pteranadon mount. I weaved in a lot of Gold Saucer activities and finished my High Roller title. These are all things that I had on my plate since ShB, but never really found the time since I always felt "why would I bother doing Diadem or Gold Saucer when I still need exp on such and such job."
I hope the OP finds lots of personal enjoyment from being omni-90 and choosing the content they want to do, regardless of exp rewards. -

I definitely struggled a lot just trying to get used to the kit and overriding my years of WHM muscle memory, but now I'm a SGE main. :3 I don't like the aesthetic as much as my WHM, and I definitely miss all my twirls and holy, but I enjoy how it plays.Quote:

I don't think there was a single job that I absolutely hated when grinding to omni that I hated. There are things about literally every job that I don't like mostly due to awkwardness but nothing super unenjoyable.
Edit: Oh actually forgot I don't have BLU maxed so I technically don't count as an omni probably. -

Got them all to 90 earlier this year. There was a lot of PotD/HoH/Bozja/FATEs since those are all their own grinds. Every job was fine to use in those, but as far as personal preference goes:
Tank: WAR gets the heals, has fewer buttons, can reliably double weave, and (at least until the next patch) doesn't need DH melds, which was actually a reason to only use WAR. Slight drawback is putting up the initial Storm's Eye before going all out. Other tanks are pretty even.
Healer: SGE gets so many oGCD heals while barriers are nice for altering fatal attacks. WHM/AST/SCH rely more on GCD heals (Lilies/Regens/Barriers) and have a harder time weaving (Thin Air+Asylum/Cards+Earthly/Fairy+Soil). Even though the GCD for SGE's DoT and barrier heals is extended, the latter come out faster and can be used on the move. AST/SCH double as button-heavy, and though the latter is also a barrier healer with oGCD heal options, it loses all of them from Energy Drain and Dissipation, and the healing from the former is negligible. The fairy is barely visible, moves slow, can't combine actions, and the lone gauge ability doesn't get much use. I leveled all 31 jobs pretty evenly, but SCH was my least used thanks to SMN.
Melee DPS: SAM
No denying SAM got easier without Kaiten, but it's still pretty straightforward even with all the buttons. DRG has so many things to do at once, including a lot of jumps that can't be double weaved, and it's annoying messing up Mirage Dive/Geirskogul, though having 3 positionals instead of 2 is remedied by them being used consecutively. RPR gets its positionals much later, but its difficulty lies with getting more and more resources towards 90 that have to be used in a certain order, trying not to forget Soulsow, not clipping the Lemure combo, and not mixing up cones with single-target skills. NIN and MNK are consistently fast-paced, and even with the latter down to two positionals, it still has a brief buff+debuff to maintain.
Magic DPS: RDM/SMN
RDM is preferable when worrying about raising people, dealing with low spell speed, and actually using Swiftcast for damage. Got a lot done with BLU, but am a little guilty of not taking its rotation seriously enough, and Extreme/Savage groups are just miserable most of the time. The low health pool, lack of oGCD heals/mitigation skills, and limited raise are big hurdles. And yeah, BLM still has those long, interruptible casts. I just spammed Scathe in PotD/HoH since everything evaporated.
Ranged DPS: DNC/MCH
Haven't touched DNC in a while so it's up in the air whether it's above or below MCH. BRD seems like it would be easy, but you eventually get so many things to optimally maintain: two debuffs, a random GCD proc, a 15-second oGCD attack, Apex Arrow, and three songs (one which makes weaving harder, one which makes the procced GCD's charges easier to waste, and another that has an oGCD proc with a strict window). Then combine that with three damage buffs and Barrage, and the fact that songs/Troubador can't stack with other BRDs/ranged jobs. Getting to remove stuff with Warden's Paean like in Great Hunt EX is nice, unless the healer follows all of them up with an Esuna and forgets when you get stunned and poisoned with 800 HP. -

So for Endwalker I wanted to level everything to 90 (eventually), because you never know; a job I didn't like that much previously might be one I did like this time. (Or, sadly, a job I did enjoy previously might feel "off" a bit to me now and not as fun... which did happen in a couple places; I don't quite enjoy NIN as much now, and I'm not even entirely certain why.)
Still, mostly there were no surprises; I still find I prefer melee DPS to caster or physical ranged, and I still prefer tanking to DPS, and I still prefer healing to everything. (Mostly because I don't like not having the ability to try to pull something back from the brink if it goes sideways.)
