DRG Has No Personal Mitigation!

NIN, MNK, SAM, and RPR all have a CD that helps reduce damage to their person.

NIN = Shade Shift
MNK = Riddle of Earth
SAM = Third Eye
RPR = Arcane Crest

And these are abilities that are 1) specific to their job 2) reduce damage.

DRG does not have an ability that reduce damage. I don't count Life Surge as mitigation cuz 1) it doesn't reduce damage taken like the other abilities 2) you use Life Surge for the crit proc, and the self heal is just a bonus. When raiding, one doesn't chose to LS just to get a baby heal off, when Second Wind could heal for more.

So... IF the devs ever gave DRG a personal mitigation like the others... they could name it........ Drakenguard :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

Only if the mitigation is some jump that you go out of the camera and take less damage.

I dont want another skill that is the same of the others melee have.

I agree. Make it fitting or don't do it at all.

Well it does have higher physical defense at least

Well… uh… you can cast Feint on an enemy that’s attacking you still, I suppose; does that technically count?

Doesn’t really help that 99% of the one shot dmg comes from magic sources.

I don’t remember that there was ever a aoe physical ultimate ability except innocence.

DRG mitigate by not memeing onto the floor (or off the ledge). :p

They are literally doing this for DRG in 6.2 because of crit buffs adjust for auto crits

Drg has slightly more def than the other jobs. Back in arr day it was kinda considered a janked offtank cause some skills were universal, lol...

Not necessarily, I think mitigation can still be unique.
On SAM tho for example I miss the ogcd damage skill you could weave in after Third Eye.
It wasn't a lot of damage or anything but it still felt like a nice little reward I really enjoyed it.

RPR is a good example too with their shield that bursts into a AoE heal.
I don't think that DPS simply having a mitigation skill is the same as homogenization.
We have and have had mitigation skills that have been/ are different.

Just an idea but I think their mitigation could give a Firstminds' Focus charge or maybe be some kind of '' riposte '' damage ( kinda makes thematic sense with their spiky armor, it's built into their lore ).
