Week number 2, and a hotfix later, still 'Fatal Direct X11 error.'

Just like the title, still seeing the 'fatal directx error.' Cannot play game.
I have tried everything from graphics drivers, reinstalling directx, reinstalling/repairing install of the game, deleting all player settings, hell I've even reformatted my desktop and now updated to windows 11. Nothing on my end fixes this problem.

This needs to be fixed. People pay for this game.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with this 'Fatal Directx11 error'. Have you tried reverting back to DirectX 9 to see if this error still persists? If you haven't done so already, you can try this by navigating to the 'Config' button on the launcher. Additionally, I noticed that the game was installed on a secondary storage drive. I would recommend having it installed on your primary drive. It may also help to have the Steam client and Final Fantasy XIV both installed on this same primary drive.

I've done that over and over. No success.
I've reinstalled my driver's and directx several times. I've even reformatted my computer. Upgraded to win 11. Uninstalled and manually deleted all local game files and reinstalled 3 times over. Nothing is fixing this.

All this trouble began with patch 6.18 for me. It was never an issue in the past.

If it's not resolved I'm going to have to unsub.

same problem, i tried everything, from DirectX9 to Driver rollback. I even disabled the nvidia geforce experience overlay etc... it also started with 6.18

well i run game on two computers an old system that still runs windows 7 and a new system that runs windows 11 and so far no problems.

Same issues. Have had them since 6.1. No fixes in sight. Even went out of my way to contact customer support directly and nothing. Gave up, canceled sub. From everything ive heard these same issues have been around for the last 1 1/2 years or more and out of the 6 people ive talked to directly all said their only solution was basically getting all new parts/PCs/switching to console to hope it makes it work. Maybe something will happen but after everything I have intense doubts this will be fixed any time soon.

You said about tried graphics card drivers so I assume you mean updated, but had you recently updated them before this started? If so perhaps try going back to an older version. When it comes to graphics card drivers newer isn't necessarily better as they can introduce new problems and in most cases unless a specific problem/bug is mentioned in the driver notes, there isn't really going to be any performance increases after the card is about 6 months old, it'll be about as optimised as it's likely to ever be.

Also is your graphics card one that is pre-overclocked? As in it came already overclocked by the manufacturer. I only mention this because I've seen posts pop on up on this forum before where people with pre-overclocked cards had issues and had to essentially underclock them to make the game stable. I don't know if this is your problem or not, seems strange if it only just started happening, but trying to give some more options.

i updated and rolled back drivers,
also my grafics card is OCd, but it was OCd before these crashes started.
Today i reinstalled 30 mins in.... Crash. the worst thing of all is that its totally random and therfore not recreatable. if it would be recreatable i would just test over test over test, but like this its trial and error and if i fix it i wouldnt know and just be scared when the next crash will occure.
thinkin about cancelling my sub now!

Underclocked GPU, had no crashes since yesterday, going to update tomorrow again.

Ive been having these DX11 crashes since forever, tho most prominently since 6.0.
I spent literal weeks of my time trying to fix it with everything i could, but to no avail.

Devs wont comment on it so assuming they know the error exists, they just have no idea how to fix it. Very unfortunate.

6.0 broke so much stuff, I really hope the devs do know about all these issues are they aren't being swept under the rug.

As I told heres my Update. it seems underclocking my GPU did the trick for good, had no crashes since then.

Since im using a 3080 that tends to rapidly switch voltage or clock extremely high all of a sudden i set -175mhz in MSI Afterburner for one.
That already reduced the crashes.

However what really seemed to fix it in the end (formerly, 1 crash every other hour - now, 1 crash in a week or two) was to limit the FPS via Nvdia Control Center to 119. That did the job for me for now.

Apparently the stable 144 i was running before werent quite manageable by the engine - only a guess.
