It's not too late to save OCE.

The players have spoken, 5 worlds collide and out of the Ashes 2 have survived.

Ravana and Sophia are the new Tonberry ( minus 100,000+ population)
we just don't have the numbers and that's off of Endwalker numbers that i have.


Suggestion 1

Make a expansion two/three times more popular than Endwalker.

Suggestion 2

Close a few worlds let the community and population build up if possible..
then see how it goes maybe open two more worlds later again for a total of four worlds if need be next expansion.

Anyone who already has housing give on the other worlds them a 'token of residence' to turn in and utilize the data space to open up more wards on Sophia and Ravana.

Also say no to 1 million gil onions.

SWTOR did the same thing as SE just did and had to eventually close down their servers, too ambitious too fast.

Interested to hear your thoughts.

not surprising considering the housing lock, and that it takes time to crossbreed for them

A couple of mentors mentioned this on Novice network chat I cant confirm it, it makes for a good story.. but saying that the market there is astronomical and there are items I'm planning to move over to make serious bank.

No. 160,000 on Zurvan; 170,000 on Bismarck; 173,000 on Sephirot; 163,000 on Sophia; 167,000 on Ravana.

DC is fine. He can always move his OCE toons back to join the 60 Alt on Tonberry.

Not an argument. According to FFXXIV census Tonberry is sitting on 215894 one world compared to 5 worlds fragmenting roughly half of that figure all over. And yea i have always done whatever i like.

Materia is fine it'll grow and at some point they'll add 3 more servers to make 8.

The fact they let the DC keep the new status bodes well for more transfers and account creations. Not everyone transferred a high level character or bought a skip they're working their way though to endgame.

The plan was actually to launch just 3 servers, but it was changed to 5 because of the popularity of the game and what happened. Unfortunately, by the time they launched activity from the expansion release had waned.

oce is a new dc so unfortunately in that aspect i think it's a good experiement for se to see if new dcs are profitable in different regions

Go play a single player Worm 'like whine' or head to the dark alley of Ul'dah, EU players are awesome.

And while im here 8 servers 3 data centres for 400+ million USA population and all of South America 422.5 million + the island Caribbean's and Canada? makes sense ... not so much for oce.

louisoix is Europe 750 million+ population..
7,797,475 Million characters.

we have 150k characters in oce which isn't even Tonberry.
im voting for a strong community rather then a sparse one.

Materia is an itty bitty baby. Now that the disconnect issues have stopped, its only problem is people decrying it as dead when it's actually just brand new. You can get groups for anything here, even without going into that creepy Sophia-based Discord.

How was the ping for you guys in toberry?

no there only 118k here on Ravana, Many home owners grow them. I just started my onion project two days ago.

Am I the only one to see the classical Titanmen style in the OP?

5 servers is probably too much to be honest as Bismarck and Zurvan both are extremely dead with little activity. It would be much better to consolidate the Oce population into the 3 more populous servers (Ravana, Sophia and Sephiroth) so that their housing wards actually fill up and don't resemble ghost towns.

Going to be intersting to see how FC wards are affected once they allow private sales. There simply aren't that many FC's even on servers like Sophia.

I have an alt on Materia. And yesterday it was not empty. Limsa Lominsa was full. Not so full like a typical Limsa on Light but it was not empty.

Lets do some calculations..

So yes it has taken 10 years, a decade for other servers to grow to what they are now,
Lets take Europe for an approximation.

Pop = 750mil
Toons = 7.5mil

OCE
pop = 41m
toons = 410k

So it will take 10 years from now to have a DC the size of 1.1 tonberry world currently. Assuming fixed variables such as constant growth, even if we double these numbers it really is peanuts. Malboro alone has 679k, what are we doing with 5 servers?

So i think you made a good point and Jeeqbit mentioned that it was SE original plan which I think is smart of them.
