Can we make some changes towards alliance raids to allow for unsync'd solos?

I know, I know. Solo content, two of the most hated words on these forums.

Hear me out though. The two sets of alliance raids for HW and SB are dead, at least on my DC.

Back when I first started playing during ShB, I completed the ARR Allied raids due to it being necessary for MSQ progression, and eventually the ShB raids, because they were all the hype/relevant at the time. Recently I started bingeing older content unsynced, which works out for a lot of reasons(no trouble looking for groups via DF or PF, being able to enjoy cutscenes without interruption).

It's older content and anyone that takes an interest in it should be able to experience it. Sadly getting a full set of 24 interested people in queue just isn't happening. I waited 5+ hours(doing other things in-game/afking irl stuff) and no DF pop. There were other people waiting supposedly, according to the roles list, but when I made a PF group looking to unsync it with a few other people I couldn't find anyone that interested.

This is QoL that's needed. Older content will go out of style and unless you can find a way to force it to be relevant, newer players are going to miss out on those experiences.

Simply remove the 3 person requirement for alliance raids when unsync'd is selected, as well as make having unsync'd selected remove any additional raid team paths.

Do the raids after daily reset. Everyone runs roulettes

People are likely too busy dropping their ilvls to force CT raids for these to pop :/

I know this is a few weeks old now, but I really wish SE would do something about this. Either make the higher level raids more desirable through XP or poetics, or have it choose what raids you can get randomly based on job level instead of ilvl (as long as the raid is unlocked obviously). I feel like a few undergeared people in alliances isn't going to be that big of a deal.

THAT is the problem, not that it's not soloable. Well, 2 things:

1. ilvl cheesing

2. The fact that only one of the raids is required by the MSQ. (Really, I don't think that we need to make the rest necessary for the MSQ, but you should need to have all of the alliance raids that you can have unlocked. E.g., my level 73 character would need to have Crystal Tower, Void Ark, AND Ivalice raids all unlocked to be able to queue for Alliance Raid Roulette)

That is what needs to be fixed.


But, I am finding it difficult to believe that you waited for 5 hours to pop, but I guess if you did, you did. The good news is that datacenter travel might help you. Once it comes back, figure out what server/DC is busy at the time you normally play and just queue up there. I've had no problems on Crystal/Aether to find any of the old alliance raids.

While normally i don't post i can say yes you do end up waiting hours (10h over 3 day fri,sat,sun) for a older raid (The Ridorana Lighthouse) to pop and while some of that for me comes down to my DC it's so frustrating it really just make you want to log out and do something else

Try Monday through Thursday, I had better queues during not-Weekend.

At a guess, I would suspect that there may be no "simply" about it, and the system might not be able to handle the prospect of loading a single party into a three-party raid.

It could explain why none of the alliance raids have been added to explorer mode. (NieR raids are handled separately and don't load you into the actual raid, just a field zone that is a copy of it with the hidden logs and stuff.)

They shouldn't be soloable in my opinion.

Just make it harder for people to ilvl cheese and get CT raids instead. Shouldn't be allowed to do. As we are aware they clearly care about people being able to do content to unlock things, and this should be included in their fixes.

But I absolutely do not want them to make it "Easier" to solo it. This will only make the no queues issue worse.

When I eventually got it, I got them on the weekends, a day before a national holiday for my neighbors to the south. It still took me like an hour for each queue almost though. I wouldn't say that doesn't make it an issue though.

Alliance raids without alliances aren’t alliance raids.

Soloing old content is fun and it's strange the community is so against it when there is 0 social interaction in Roulettes and it's all about zerging through as fast as possible for your daily chore. Other people just exist as queue filler.

I'd be fine with tweaks to older content to enable easier soloing.

Love the idea, if there was a strong incentive to run these lower level contents then sure, make us PF it if people would actually be interested.

But as it stands the restriction is an unecessary bummer.. keeping folks from experiencing much of the past content. I bet they kept the 3 people requirement in place because it might be quite a bother to work around those mechanics with A B C teams doing things.

Sounds like a better and longer term solution would be to just fix the ilvl cheesing, require you to be equiped with the highest unlocked dungeon when you enter the roulette, AND automatically unlock all dungeons when you finish an expansion.

Folks avoided unlocking nier in order to do more crystal tower runs. That'll fix that too.
