*MORE ANGRY SAMURAI NOISES*
Can we at least wait until they go over the Job changes in the live letter before we get mad?
Yoshida said we should keep giving feedback lets at least give them a chance to listen to it first.
If they don't I'll reeee with you too.
I'm not happy either, but all we can do now is wait until 6.2. They're not going to make any changes on that scale to samurai prior to that.
My 4 days of free game time are gonna run out soon, so I'll ree with you in spirit.
I honestly dont miss kaiten. Looking forward to more exciting new skills instead.
"Well actually Kenki isn't an interesting enough of a skill, it needs something more"
Kenki removed. Nothing added.
"Perfect! S-tier patch for SAM!"
The continual moving of the goal posts will continue! ;D
"Guys, they never talk about job changes in LL part 1....or 2....ok they aren't going to address bringing back kaiten for 7.0 at fanfest they never call out individual jobs like that... job previews for a new expansion never show the return of old moves ... guys we gotta wait till 8.0 to see if they have the resources to change it"
Once LL1 comes and goes without mention of fixing SAM I'm out. I've already stopped playing as have a bunch of my friends since there's a severe lack of content at the moment and it'd be a good point to drop the game anyway since the main story arc is done now.
How is that moving a goal post? Its a fact that the live letters are structured a very specific way and they rarely if ever talk about job changes in the earlier live letters before a major patch. If they mention anything it will be like the last live letter where it took placed a few weeks before 6.1 launched. This is how they have done things for years.
The likelihood of them mentioning SAM or talking about the potential DRG changes is nearly 0 in tomorrows LL.
What I would like to seeKeywords " What I would like to see ".
- An apology, just like how they addressed overtuning BLM.
- Attention to care, like they have with so many other issues and changes.
- Acknowledging it in a decent time span like so many smaller and bigger issues
- All of the above regardless of a Live Letter
Square's chance to address a F'up. Even more so during a live letter to regain lost good will. Heck at this point, it's a W up for grabs.
Notice also what we been asking...I can give a rats ass that our performance on some FFLogs is now " great ", it doesn't " feel great ", it feels terrible. I don't think asking even this to be addressed is unreasonable. Acknowledging the feedback they asked! for us to
- Some sort of Revert resembling the changes
- Kaiten back
- Tenka Goken back to a Cone
- The Big Hits on our Big DPS skills in-game back
beta-test" try it out ".
We're not asking the impossble from Square... yet for some reason people thikn we're asking that. We're not asking Square to do the following...I know this sounds stupid... but people ask these unreasonable things like it's effortless or costless or costing no time to do.
- Solve World hunger and World peace
- Starting a civilization on one of Jupiter's moons
- Solving Global Energy issues with renewable energy
- Implement Blitzball game and a Blitzball Job
- Change all Mogstation items as obtainable through ingame achievements
- Being allowed to sell in-game ERP acts through Twitter for money
- A floating island for my FC like Elpis btw get on it!
- Entire deviating Skill-Tree's for every job, sounds totally easy
- Doubling the Housing Ward capacity, go buy some extra Servers
- Make all ingame mods and 3rd party tools all incorporated in-game all of it
- And do all of it before 6.2 while giving me a foot massage
But when WE make REASONABLE argue points on Square? like FIXING a job they knowingly fk'd up, admitting to potentially fk-ing it up before changing it, people defending Square's every turn? make it sound like this is what we're asking -> THE MOST IMPOSSIBLE AND UNREASONABLE THINGS we're not...
We're not asking the unreasonable. Fixing a Job they ruined isn't unreasonable. idc if its during LiveLetter or not, which also isn't unreasonably impossible. Square needs to Address it.
- They asked us for Feedback? that's reasonable
- They asked us to try it? that's reasonable
- They asked us to try out something we didn't ask for? totally reasonable
- Yet Us asking them to respond to our feedback? is unreasonable?
...Contradiction
I would say that's being optimistic, but I guess we'll find out tomorrow.
well.. the Live Letter will be our chance to make our voice heard: #BringBackKaiten
too many rage babys trying to get attenion for me they will get around to it soon enough i will just work other jobs till they do.
Thanks for adding nothing to the conversation, George.
It is what I like to see. Hoping I see it?
My expectation is seeing nothing Job related other then them re-announcing again that making Jobs is difficult from creative standpoint, but they will endeavor to give it their best shot. Crowd goes gasp in ahh, next subject, and that would be it regarding Jobs. So... you're definitely not wrong. Expecting a response from Yoshi P who requested Feedback from us, " try it out " right? he said, I think that's really optimistic to expect a response from the man himself or anyone from Square... in like a year? well apparently according to other players 3+ years so yeah I would say I agree. It's kinda optimistic.
Well, the backlash from SAM was so severe they literally got scared off from the DRG and AST changes and decided to delay it which makes me slightly optimistic that they are willing to at least bring back kaiten in some form. We're unfortunately never going back to the big hits from our iajutsus though since they are adamant for some stupid reason to keep auto crits and instead adjust buffs to work with auto crits. I wish they would move away from the auto crit crap and just acknowledge that dps variations are par for the course of stat based games. Its a strange acknowledgement of parsing from them when parsing is something they clearly don't encourage.
yet our goal isn't to intimidate but to communicate.. yet what did we achieve outside of writing down our thoughts and reason in this forum? In My Opinion Auto-Crits while debatable aren't the problem.. they are more like a Solution to a Problem that never existed but therefor causing bigger Problems and stay quite about it because the devs can do no wrong and FFXIV is a Masterpiece.. lol.. even though Yoshi and Devs are just humen and humen make mistakes, that's why they are humen.. but pointing out mistakes and providing reasons why those changes are infact mistakes and offering other solutions in return like accepting the Auto-Crit but making the following attack after Kaiten Direct Hit.. even if Samurai would've been weaker than 6.08 it still would be more bearable than flat out removal.
I could accept auto crits if they changed their approach a bit. IMO I would bring kaiten back, remove the auto crit on midare and place the auto crit onto tsubame-gaishi. Same with ogi namakiri I would remove the auto crit from the first hit and then add the auto crit onto kaeshi namakiri. That way we at least get some form of big crits back, we get kaiten back, we get some semblance of kenki management back while still having dps consistency in some form with the follow up attacks being auto crits. I feel like this would be an extremely good compromise to the situation with SAM and we could return to DNC's getting some meaningful benefits back from being SAM dance partner.
I'm indifferent when it comes to guaranteed crits. I just want them to move the potency they took away from our big hits back onto our big hits and away from our basic combos, and of course add kaiten back yadda yadda yadda nuance blah blah blah kenki management something something game feel. Oh yeah also give me an excuse to move during trash pulls again. Tenka Goken never needed to be a circle. The animation looks weird, pathetic, and stumpy now.
I'm not convinced any of that will happen though. It looks like all our feedback did was delay the inevitable un-funning of DRG and AST. I'm not confident kaiten is ever coming back. And I'm not confident that anything with equal or greater fun-factor will take its place. Sub has been cancelled.
