What are some things that you like about FFXIV?

Title says it all. What are some things you find enjoyable about FFXIV?

I've come to enjoy that you can play as different classes, so that no character is bound to one job for its entire existence. In addition to that, a lot of the music is very enjoyable and pleasant. It's impressive how varied it is, ranging from melancholy to upbeat and fun. I also like how relaxed the gameplay is, as it doesn't demand life be put on hold like some other MMOs.

Same as you, as someone who had like a character for every single class in WoW and ESO and to a degree in GW2. I really appreciate the ability to switch jobs at will as it's something that I often do. Not a play session that goes by without me switching to something.

The part where I can complain about the parts I don't like about FFXIV in their online forum, even while still trying my damndest to enjoy the game for any other miscellaneous reasons that are too minute or broad of a concept to actualize into words.

That, and PVP job design.

The MSQ, definitely.

But the music is generally superb too.

MSQ, music, the classes along with the fact that up until ShB each class had its own unique quest line, glams, Duty Finder and Party Finder(has issues sometimes but it's better than games that have awful team forming systems in-game).

Also... Emet Selch. Sorry-not-sorry. He deserves his own mention.

New game+ reliving past adventures as reaper or gnb. Already did SHB+ Death Unto Dawn both parts and Endwalker new game+ , doing HW new game+ next, also im a sucker for MSQ :p

I love the MSQ and music! Also super love crafting and gathering. It's the best crafting system in any game.

I enjoy some of the DPS roles (BLM mainly), some of the dungeon and raid content, and the PVP.

i have capped all my jobs at least 3 times in playing this game at the start of arr always something new to learn and add to my rotation each job has its point of interest so i like playing all of them from one time to another raids and dungons are always fun learning with many surprises synthing is fun too along with gathering so their is enuff here to keep me happy and busy.

This seems to be a common theme here (with good reason!), but the MSQ and the music are two of my favorite parts! Also the absolute plethora of stuff to do. I played on and off for a few years, and then really got into the game probably around 2018 or 2019, and there's STILL a whole list of things from crafting/gathering, to sightseeing log, to achievement hunting, that I'm yet to do and really looking forward to. I also like the unique style that RDM has as a class.

That it feels like a persistent world. It isn't a game I am playing it is a place I am visiting.

That is why, when SE does a major landscape change as part of MSQ, it can be jarring. The 5.5 towers were hovering over me in quite a few places until Endwalker launched, and I can still remember the pulsing light over the Dravanian Hinterlands when I was farming FATES there finishing up an anima weapon.

Fishing, Housing, wide range in combat and crafting all tied to one character, and big butts.

personally i really like the males of this game
it's what initially drew me because no game actually had males other than gym master bro (and nothing at all wrong with this)
it wasn't the extreme side of korean mmo men nor the bulk of gears of war
monk was my first view of a striking job and i thought was much more well envisioned than wow's monk

What I enjoy most, is the Community, everyone is so level headed and kind hearted, even when disagreeing with things, everyone is just so understanding and respectful.

The story, characters (even munoe ones), the varioys environments, the beast tribes, gathering and crafting, my mini cacpot addiction, chocobo races, triple triad, character creation, Koji Fox's humor, Soken's musical genius, Yoshi-P because I can never hate him despite sometimes having questionable decisions, Ishikawa and hwr apprentices brilliant writing, "Froth and Foam!"...

I hope he gets made into an official npc character one day with his own little harem of cat girls and constantly harrassing "Y'shlotta" to be with him. xD

Same goes for Rich Cambell, too. They could be made into a npc duet who conpete to see who has the biggest cat girl harem. xD

I like the cat girls, they're pretty and all... but I have yet to see them vomit only minutes after eating food and defecating on the carpet when I neglect their cat box. I am starting to question if they are truly cat-ish or not.

Playing with friends, visiting player houses and seeing their creativity with it, visiting venues, 2B bottoms....

The lack of restriction for doing "old" content with newly joined friends as they progress.

Near instant accessibility of most content I've missed during absences and transparency of current upgrades.

And of course the aesthetic and customization of my characters look.

Yes! Lost Ark was very disappointing for me in this regard. There is no level-scaling like in FFXIV's dungeons! So, if I'm level 50 and my friend is level 14, I technically can enter a dungeon with them, but what that means is I'm simply one-shotting every enemy while they basically just follow along behind, not experiencing the content or any boss mechanics or anything. Basically, I beat the dungeon for them while they do nothing. They're not having any fun, I'm not having any fun, and in no real sense of the word are we "playing together" at all.

We all remember the dark times of MSQ Roulette where a new player would have their story experience ruined by people speed-clearing and skipping mobs -- now, imagine that except everyone else is Level 90.

I don't know anymore I just hop on out of habit now
I play other games but after 10 years this game is kinda just my core game
