I like SAM because it feels so fluid and the animations of wielding the katana look awesome.
Simple but not too simple like SMN or RPR so it kept me engaging.

I like DRK mostly due to aesthetics and the level 50 class quest. I did like playing it during HW but I moved to war after the devs shuffled drk's sustain to that class. :/
I like samurai because of the aesthetics. It is the only DPS melee class besides dragoon that looks good as a Lalafell. I found Dragoon gameplay to be unsatisfying, though. Samurai gameplay used to be somewhat fun, now it's just "okay". Reaper has fun gameplay but it doesn't look quite right as a Lalafell, and I'm too attached to my character to permanently switch to a different race.
Other than my fave melee Reaper, i go with Dragoon. The power of Dragons!
Sam was my favorite until patch 6.1 came out
Reaper my favorite class. Easy to play and does good dps.
Red mage. I love using dual cast and verraise on the dead party members.
DNC because En Avant keep saving my ass from the puddle :)
I like BLM because when you get that rotation going and you get your prize at the end (Polyglot) there's a little feeling of giddiness as you smack your target hard. BOOM!
PLD always the job i do MSQ on even if i have had some gripes with it over the years.
JOBS ive liked have changed over the expansions though.
6.0 SMN Feels more Summony.. even though the avatars arent pets anymore.
4.0 SAM was awesome. 5.0 slightly less so. 6.0 wtf??
4.0 AST was an amazing job easily one of my favorites.. but now... well it's still 70 so that tells you all you need to know
4.0.BRD another fun and amazing job but now....
4.0 SCH (maybe it was 3.0) i cant remeber but basically before they scrapped bane.
4.0 NIN. still like the class but gcd mudras just dont feel fight.
1.2 MNK always prefered it to the ARR iterations
MIght even say 4.0 PLD was better than current PLD, there was a reason but i cant remember it.
4.0 jobs were their peak imo. the ones i played at least..
Aesthetically, my favorite job is definitely Bard. I've always gravitated towards bow characters in RPGs and I love music, so Bard is a double win for me. I also really love how the Bards are able to play many instruments in game, even if I kinda suck at playing it manually. Honestly, playing instruments with Bard (and Soken's legendary Lahee) inspired me to try to learn piano irl and possibly pursue a music degree.
Gameplay-wise, I definitely enjoy playing Red Mage the most because of chain raising. I love saving runs by raising the healer so they can lb3 not just because it feels good, but also it can save me time that would have been wasted on wiping and resetting. Summoner also get's an honorable mention for having a raise and being a relaxing job to play.
Gunbreaker, Machinist and Sage, performing feats of magic through technology is one of my favorite fantasy tropes so I adore the aesthetics and style of these jobs and I really enjoy their playstyles.
I also like Monk because warrior monks are cool as hell, I enjoy the playstyle and their glamour game is strong, so I always gravitate back to it as my favorite melee.
I always go for Rouge/Assassin/Dual-wielding classes in any game I play. This game mixed all that into a Ninja and that is what brought me here.
The only class that matters.
Warrior!
White Mage
Its simple, its easy, no stress, no hard learning curb. Sometimes less is more.
Blood for the Blood Gods..I mean Lily
Easy MP Management
Also Holy
...Ill Cheat. I also love Monk. I just love Martial Arts stuff.
Gunbreaker because lore, I'm totally not biased guys, I pinky promise.
Astrologian because lore and because it feels like the healer with the most flavour of the four.
Summoner, since I get to traumatize the Leveilleur family.
Aesthetics and lorewise, Scholar is my favorite job. Out of the four healers too, it is my favorite gameplay as well. I wish they weren't so hellbent on making it as bland and unfun as possible!
Well not the easiest question to answer, as I like most of them, and play them all, and have 4 jobs I main.
So let me think, and break it down by roles, and then pick my favorite.
Tank: Paladin
Toss Up of Paladin and Warrior. My first character in 2015 was a Lala Warrior, back then I had to level a second class to unlock Warrior, can't remember which, but it's why I got into playing them all. But between Paladin and Warrior, I like them both equally. Warrior has always felt like a DPS Job that happens to be a tank, and Paladin Feels like a Tank that happens to do DPS very well. I think Warrior is easier over all to play, but Nothing beats Sword and Board as a tank. /rolls a D20 11.... hmmm Paladin due to a dice roll.
Healer: White Mage
Ok.. not so hard. White Mage. It's always been my favorite Healer/DPS in Final Fantasy, and video games in general. You are a real Mage, not a priest or a cleric, you heal with your knowledge of white mana. The rest are meh compared to being a Mage who heals. Game play wise I'm liking Gun Healing...Sage. So once again a bit of a tie, but White mage wins by 30 years of White Mage goodness.
Melee DPS: Reaper
Oh, boy....last year it was Ninja hands down, and in some ways it's still Ninja Hands Down, but Reaper, is so, so very sexy. My Inner Goth loves Reaper, it's what I imagine happens when a Black Mage goes Melee. Soo... Yeah, years of Ninja Love... Reaper. Reaper wins, but I still love Ninja.
Physical Ranged DPS: Dancer
Dancer. Sorry Bard, Sorry Machinist, Dancer is so much fun, plus it's like Ranged Ninja with style. I just love the gameplay and style, and use the weapons which look like daggers.
Black Mage: Black Mage... Opps I mean ...
Caster DPS: Black Mage
Do I really need to say it, I'm Goth, I love the look and feel, I played Warlock in that other MMO for 15 year, I've loved my BLMs in each FF game that had them. I know there are other casters, easier casters, even flashier casters. But there is only one Caster for me.
Ok...
So now I have to look at my choices.
Black Mage, Dancer, Reaper, White Mage, and Paladin
Right away the S tier for me is Black Mage, Dancer, and Reaper. I like White Mage and Paladin, and are my go to when fast queue is needed. But my top three is where I have to pick my favorite.
Now I main Dancer on my 1st Main, and I main BLM on this character, with Reaper as their number 2 Job. Which for Marielle has been her go to for solo duties and anything other than Raid content. My other Main, is a Dancer/Ninja RP and I enjoy playing with reaper on her, but Dancer is her go to.
I'm going to say BLM by a thread over Dancer and Reaper, it's a 30 year love of the Job along with my love for Destro Warlocks. (If I could turn my BLM Fire Green it would be perfection), but depending on my mood Dancer or Reaper can easily win this internal debate. Reaper feels like BLM Melee, and it has green Fire (Turquois Green), and Dancer is just easy to play and fun. But BLM is the Master Class of DPS, and the pain to get it perfect is my dedication to my love of the Job.
Black Mage
quick edit: My 4th Favorite Job is Ninja... I know it's not that obvious in this post, but my third main is Ninja only.
Hmm... thinks about it. It was good... but cast Bar Bard.
Honestly, 3.0 Warrior & BLM... 5.0 Everything else. I do like some of the 6.0 Changes, and Summoner makes sense now. 4.0 was the time I played the least, due to WOW taking up my time those years. So I only played 4.0 at the beginning, and just before 5.0. I Do remember the Bard Cast Bar and not liking it at all.
Pld for tank, looping rotation and 0 downtime, good carry potential.
Rdm for caster, Jack of all trades, incredibly well rounded toolkit. Does what a summoner does but better and less coloured 20iq legos (30iq dualcast instead)
Ninja for melee, fast paced, agile. Feels fun to play aside from the change to trick attack. Which I hope gets reverted
Machinist for ranged, big crits, 0 brain effort. Learned to love this job in necromancer runs.
I have yet to start Bard, Black mage, warrior, sage or reaper though all others are 90
Difficult to say as haven't experienced many of them yet. I really enjoyed Bard and played through the MSQ from start to (current) end as a Bard.
However, decided to give Red Mage a look and I love it! Guess will try something else at some point (possibly a healer role) but for now am enjoying the versatility of RDM too much to swap
NIN, SAM and BLM are probably the most fun to play atm imo ( altho I don't rly play BLM, I've only done P1-2S on it to try out it's rly well-designed tho ).
But I mained MNK since ARR up to EW it has been my favorite overall.
I am just rly tired of the outdated animations on MNK and didn't like the loss of positionals and ogcds being turned into a gcd ( Elixir Field ).
Like why the hell is Celestial Revolution our equivelant of '' Ninja bunny '' ?????
Why is our new skill and animation a literal fail state?
It's so dumb.
DRG and RPR are fun to but RPR feels so repetitive and like nothing rly matters much.
It's rly cool but even Communio doesn't feel like it's as impactful as it should for some reason, it has a '' floaty '' feel to it where all of the buttons sorta feel like they're just doing the same thing.
SAM went down too because of the removal of Kaiten I still hate the removal of it.
It still feels incomplete because of it.
But yeah overall MNK and I picked it up again when they released Lyse's costume and picked up on Optimal Drift rly quickly and it does feel good to play I just rly wish the animations would get updated they look so weak.
In EW I'd say NIN.
GNB, RDM, Reaper.
I want to say sage, but we all know how healers play is.
Always has and always will be blm!
Nothing will ever beat punching things to death (although the best version of monk is hands down in Pillars of Eternity).
Gunbreaker. I love gunblades. Not much more complicated than that. It is also pretty fun for me, so there's that too.
BLM because I like how engaging its rotation is.
WAR.
Real reason: it was my first job and feels canonical. Also, axes are cool.
Fun reason: fell cleave go brrrrr
Primal Rend is also just an amazing gap closer. lol
