If that would go live for Samurai you could throw him in the trash for real. That is like removing his LB completely, waiting over 2 minutes to have to bait your defensive cooldown into people just to 4/5 their hp while they pot up in the next tick? lmao give me Seiton any day for this garbage, I'd rather take your nerfed Seiton over the garbage Samurai has right now without your nerfs, it's that much better.
I'm so glad the forums aren't the balancing team.
Just touching on some of these.
Differentiating friendly and enemy DRG LBs would be enough for me. It's one of the easiest things in the game to counter-play: you see it and you press guard. The only issue with that one is the friend or foe identification. I personally wouldn't mind adding some kind of a visual effect for being under horrid roar.
GCD LB's won't and IMO shouldn't be happening. There's nothing wrong with LBs being used as part of kill combos especially if it's very clear that the LBs whole purpose is a single target delete like MCH's is. I don't know what the point of making a heal-down not stack with Frazzle is when there's more heal downs in the mode (Sole survivor, Mummification) which, as far as I know, all stack. Why the heck would you make those 2 specifically not stack? That said MCH is already strong and giving it an effect that strong would really be pushing it, even with your LB nerf.
Not quite feeling those SAM changes over all. While I'm all for adding better visual cues, Chiten already has rather clear activation animation. If you want to add something lasting to it then make the initial animation just play through out the duration. No need to pull a completely new one. Also the LB is not a line AOE, it's a circle around your target.
I doubt anyone would ever touch WAR or WHM again with those changes. That's not objective tweaking, that's just a straight up butchery. You seem to think they're some kind of untouchable SSS+ tiers. They're not.
I really don't see the point of wanting to make things like DRG LB or SAM Chiten easier to see and then go 180 degrees on BLM LB and claim that it should be harder to see. All that would do is make some bad players not realize that you've LB'd. It wouldn't fool anyone decent and obscuring important information is seriously not a direction I'd want to go either way.
GCD LBs sounds like the worst possible gameplay experience known to man. Also buffing NIN LB damage makes 0 sense to me, you already executed someone, no reason you also get to take another player down to 50% hp from full, shouldn't get rewarded for rushing to execute with no opportunity for a follow-up kill imo. Not gonna lie, I didn't read much else, kinda thought it was satire.
Reading the replies, I regret making this thread. People see a point they disagree with, dismiss the whole thing and offer little or no explanation.
I was hoping to see alternative suggestions, adjustments or discussions around some of the changes.
On a side note, people also seem very offended about LB nerfs, yet LBs are all people whine about on these forums.
Nevermind.
No one is offended at the idea of LB nerfs, people just don't want to play with GCD LBs because there is absolutely no way on earth it would feel good for the player, oGCDs are important to keep things interesting and combo different abilities together. Your way of nerfing might work on paper, but it doesn't seem fun at all. I'm not sure what you expect in terms of feedback, not many people are gonna want to address every buff/nerf with an essay, specially when some of the stuff in your first post make little to no sense, such as making BLM harder to see while making SAM a walking cactus.
Why do you feel the need to exaggerate like that?
Thank you. You're the only user that replied with actual talking points, even if they were mostly against my suggestions.
I should have known better.
I appreciate the time & effort that went into this. Unfortunately, the internet allows for people to not only say things they'd never have the balls to say to someone's face, but also to say it in a manner heedless of any consequence because, well, there isn't any. Nature of the beast. Try to take solace in the fact that it's most always because the internet is the only place they can pretend they've got any juice. The more crass/confident the reply, the more beta the person would be face-to-face. Trust; they don't want no smoke unless safely tucked behind their monitor.
Anyway, some interesting food for thought. Rather than pull apart the changes I disagree with, (bout half) I'll say that I like the direction your headed with multiple concepts:
Bloodbath effect on Reaping would help survivability, it's not free heals, have to work for it.
I also like CC immunity being tied to Bind on LB, gives the player some autonomy in when/where to start burst
Communio is certainly cumbersome on volcano. I'd take a considerable potency nerf to see it instant. I'd rather have a sure-thing at 12k than interrupt on LoS twice only for enshroud to expire.
Agree 100% on SAM primaries cast time being shorter. Being completely still within melee range is dangerous even for instant casts so the shorter the better.
I won't harp on it but I will say that Zantetsuken becomes less and less effective at higher tiers as players pay closer attention to statuses and LB gauges. It also takes into account debuffs etc so isn't a guaranteed kill. So if it were dropped to 80% I'd insist that it be a 90 sec max cooldown, rather than 120.
Cast time on Poly is a great idea; as of 6.11 it has zero opportunity cost.
Drop the heavy on half-asleep, no doubt.
Again, A for effort and some interesting ideas o/

Got any ideas for dancer? Sad when I saw it wasn't included in the list
Sorry. The reason is I haven't played it yet. Just reading the abilities on paper isn't enough for me.
I'll say though that it sounds like SE designed DNC around Light Party CC. You know they don't want it to be able to trigger their own LB because the animation is so long. That makes it pretty unreliable in Solo queue.
No doubt, but the main thing with Zentetsuken is that the only counter-play I know of is to avoid attacking the SAM while they have LB available because Chiten activates immediately.
You'd also better hope you don't accidentally clip them with your aoe skills. I think there's something flawed with how Chiten works and affects LB.
It's not worth the hassle. Because of how the thread started, I had little faith the conversation would steer in a constructive direction.
Hello.
Personal opinion from a dancer main.
DNC doesn't need much and is a viable job, especially on volcano map, while doing fine on other two.
I only see two problems with the job as it is right now.
The first problem is that the LB is too slow to CC people. Even if enemies are not very reactive, they have plenty of time to spread out and make it harder or impossible to re-apply the charm to multiple targets.
It also gives enemy players too much time to throw something at you when they see you use LB (a stun for example) which gives you even less time to re-apply the charm as you have to purify first.
They could fix this in many ways (non cumulative):
- make people run toward you instead of crawling when charmed; plus this would make it stronger to pull people away from crystal;
- reduce 1st charm delay by 0.5s; reduce LB animation lock accordingly otherwise it would narrow the re-apply window
- keep it as laggy as it is, but it would apply two separate buffs: a 2s one for first charm; and a 4s debuff stating that any hit from the dancer will re-apply a 2s charm. It would give more room to deal with the current latency.
The second problem is the heal readius of curing waltz, which doesn't account for the game's latency.
Ideally you'd want to stack both heals (DNC + his partner) to make it a more reliable 16k (2x8k).
In reality, with game latency it's hard to achieve unless both sources are static, because of the 3y radius.
The improvement could be quite simple: make it 5y, like WHM's cure III.
Yes, because your patch notes were not discuss worthy, all you did is to take skill x that is very strong threw it in the mud and buffed something totally useless.
Samurai 1 hits? Just remove the 1 hit and reduce cast time by 0.3 and increase Chiten by 1s
Ninja can execute all targets? Just limit it to 2 and double his damage if he fails
That's like me saying Black Mage has way too short cooldown for his LB, so increase it to 120 seconds and just make his root 1 second longer and give him permanent 5% more speed.
You just purely failed to tackle the issue of each job independently because your scrubbed through them with like 5 casual match knowledge.
It's almost as if they opened up the thread leading with "This is just for fun" and "Don't take this too seriously".
You were that kid that circled the letters on the scantron instead of bubbling them in like the instructions said, weren't you. You merry little jokester, you.
Well, you're literally just QQing because you didn't get the kind of replies you want while ignoring every other kind of reply, you got some genuine feedback on your thread, but you didn't like it so you just deleted the post. I'm honestly just having a laugh at this point, hell, you ignored my post and focused only on the essay part, so I don't know what to tell you, buddy.
Oh, now that you mention it, it's not like he just took that as a formal statement so he wouldn't get flamed. He knew exactly that his list does not make much sense.Quote:

Funny, for that it was just a thread for fun, he hoped for a real result.Quote:

Because that's the problem with guys like you, you babble about something you have no idea about, hide behind your own safe zone so you don't get backlash, and keep babbling to others so long that they believe it too and suddenly we have stupid buffs like 6.11a because the ff14 team sees that as real suggestions that would satisfy the community.Quote:

No. It’s snide comments like these at the start of the thread that made me regret the thread.
Also yes, I agree now that the Ninja/SAM LB change I proposed were bad among others. I should have thought about it more before posting.
I'm moving on.
