Mobs that seriously send you on a guilt trip when you kill them.

Share your sorrow and your guilt. It was self defense, right?

Gaelic Cat - I first encountered these in Cloud top. A hostile bat, hey, nothing I'm not used to. I took glee in attacking and shooting this thing. Something was off though -- I heard cat yelps. That was odd to me, but I had my Fat Cat out, and maybe there was some feature happening I didn't know about. The last hit, I heard a cat scream, and it fell to the ground. Upon further inspection, It wasn't a bat that I killed... It was a cat with improvised wings, that had a bell on its chest. I do my best to avoid fighting them now.

Definitely agree with Gaelicats, also Goobues (the great goobue wall shall never be forgotten) and any of the non-aggressive mobs in ARR areas. And the Giants.

the corrupted Sylphs. Sylphs are adorable as they are, so the corrupted ones are not only sad given the backstory, but killing them mad me feel bad. Goobues seem rather frightening to me. It's probably their eyes, teeth and size lol.

The oddly creepy cute phurbles.

Goobues make me feel bad because of the player reaction to the final days of 1.x. As high level enemies started spawning closer and closer to the cities and even try to enter, players used their Goobue mounts to essentially create a wall which the monsters couldn't pass to keep the cities safe.

Weirdly nothing in FFXIV, but dogs in Elden Ring (tortoises). I killed one just curious to see what happens. Guilt happens, only guilt. Just reading about killing the pope good boy made me feel bad. Oh, also turtles / tortoise in The Forest as well...

I think it's because they don't fight back, but not even that's fully true since I'll usually tag critters way back when I played WoW (as a huge aside, FFXIV- please add Critters.. not every deer needs to be bred to try and eat my face off xD).

Nothing, kill them all.

I couldn't hang with Monster Hunter and how some of the monsters will limp as they're trying to flee for their lives. D:

As far as XIV is related, nothing has really made me feel too bad individually, but many times I've thought about how we go about on slaughtering sprees all the time. Not very kind of us.

The Ornery Karakul for me. The sad little "baaah..." when they go down just makes me so sad every time.

Paissas and all variants of them, especially when they just flop over with their unblinking gaze. The baby dragons in The Aery that you have to move away from the sleeping dragons so they aren't woken up. Korpokkurs.

Especially Zinogre and his oversized dog yelps.

+1 to Gaelicats, but also Sea Swallows, Korpokkurs, and anything Korpokkur-adjacent, like Yukinko.

Also the karakuls and their tragic dying "baas", makes me feel like a monster whenever I need fleece.

I have cats and they are my babies but I laugh at that hiss and angry yowl when gaelicats die because it reminds me of screwing with my furballs.

I feel guilty over goobues just there trying to chill. And tonberries are my little babies. I hate when I get WM normal in roulette.

Killing the sheep's always make me feel like a giant P.O.S.

For me it's the succubi. I want to slay them but not in the literal way. They're too hot to die. Same goes for Scathach. I for one was opposed to slaying her, my alliance made me do it.

I don't fill anything killing them. Only thing think of is how they will taste cooked or what gear can make from them.

The dogs in sastasha. They're just caged up and scared :(

I'm a heartless bastard. If you give XP or mats...I'm fine with killing it. Some mobs I'll kill just because.

I like to think my WoL is just a murder hobo...but NNNnnnnOOOoooOOO I gotta be the good guy.

Felt meh when I first unlocked MRD and had to kill some lost lambs. They're lost, why slay them?! Also, enemies like Bogys and the Souls in Sunken Temple. They make such a cute and sad sound when they die.

It's like when I kill an American Coyote in RDR2/RDO, they make the most heart-breaking sound. :(

I used those to level my BLU for a few dozen levels. I may have cried a bit.

Tempered people in thalahan. Specialy all the people that got tempered when you fist meet ifrit.

The whole story about the enslaved giants, locked in the mines for ages and then we kill the remaining ones felt kind of messed up. :( Poor giants.

Nothing, but I will say that qiqirns have the most genuinely "oh noes!" death rattle of any mob.

The mutant baby dragon at Ultima Thule is... sad man :(

Dragonets. We befriend so many dragonets in the game, I go out of my way to avoid killing them unless a quest won't progress if I do.

If nobody's brought it up yet... the treasure hunters in level 70 maps who, when you kill them, say 'tell my wife I....' (actually it might be level 60 maps... they all blend together at this point)
