Hopefully RPR is next on the table for buffs because BLM is a threat while its LB is active now.
If BLM gets to have passive mitigation from their LB, I think RPR could also stand to get a little something like temporary CC immunity to give it more presence.
Buff the other healers, and nerf white mage a little bit please. It's not fair that white mage and astrologian are king, while us barrier healers are barely hanging on. I don't think Sage is bad per say. Heck, I've got three kills in a row as Sage. It takes a bit of know how to use it, and I like using it, but it could be a smidge more powerful. Scholar is just completely useless. :c
Crystal players being lumped in with diamond is interesting, I wonder why?
Whm needs a nerf for sure. They just seem to keep nerfing rdm tho.
People have to stop seeing SCH and Sage as healers.
They're dps.
Sch is a chipdamage dps (the dots HURT A LOT, you just dont see it immediately). You can adlo people for damage buffs and spread your dots regardless of guards.
Sage is more of a burster with phlegma.
Whm and Sage are more healer, but they are also more support than straight up healers, too.
WHM has 3 chonky heals with 2 cures and one cure 3. LB gives a HoT, so its usually just gonna overheal and or not tick enough to save people (in a very close fight it might not help a lot). That is why whm usually has high healing power. Doesn't mean they actually HEALED a lot, they just have big range on their lb so everybody gets a HoT, aka overhealing.
Asts is a little more focused with 2 regens (normal benefic) and 2 shields (doublecast benefic) and Macrocosmos is a nice chunky heal if people can take care of themself a bit.
But people really hope to much that healers can always save them so they run around with a lot of mp next to me while i'm just waiting for any of my heals to be off cooldown.
Take care of yourself and i can take care of you.
No healer can keep you up if you can't weave in and out of danger and just GO.
SCH and sage would probably have more playrates (even if i see both a lot) if people would stop seeing them as healers and more as slight support but also just dps. GNB is also literally just a dps at this point.
It IS perfectly doable to win with no healer (no green) against teams that have healers (aka ast or whm) if the people don't just rush in and take a little care of themself. Because ONLY if you can take care of yourself, a healer can also help you better.
Sage and SCH just aren't healers and CAN put out an absurd amount of damage, the expectations that they ARE healers has to go away tho.
I play Ast and if i see a sage and SCH in my team, i don't expect them to heal a lot, because they can't. What i do expect them to do is play smart and do dps, because i see them as dps with some healing capability and don't rely on them to do some clutch healings (they can, but i can do it easier).
Green doesn't make a healer in PVP
Mostly good updates.
Diamond 5s have been incredibly unpredictable and making Crystal match quality go down whenever there's some in the teams, so good riddance.
Most Job buffs are good, BLM probably got way overtuned and could have done with cast time reduction + Fire DoT buff instead but we will see. DNC and GNB could have gotten bit more buffs and BRD LB still needs changes. SCH and RPR probably need some tweaks.
Overall it's a good sign that they are keeping up with winrates and common complaints, we will probably have pretty good PvP base by 6.2 if they tweak it at every minor patch or even have extra patches.
Rejoice ice mage only PvE, your time for the ice age has come in PvP
I can't speak for SGE but as a SCH player, its definitely doing some work with the Biolysis + Bane and the range is hilarious. Playing SCH as a pure healer is where players are going wrong. If they tune SCH for better, it would likely be where WHM is now, not that im against that if all the healers are equally on par.
As soon as I saw BLM changes, I knew Yoshi P was playing PvP a lot recently.
Sage can kill as fast as any dps tho? Have you ever been nuked by 2 phlegmas because i have, they hurt.
Literally 20k in a 5 yalm radius every 30ish seconds (for both charges). Ast is 16k with both gravities in same radius and it absolutely hurts.
Pneuma is 12k every 30 seconds and also heals.
And also:

And did you not read that i said sch is chip damage through guard? Because that's what sch does. Meaty chip damage.

So yeah, I confidently say that sage and Sch are support DPS. Sch is more support than sage.
Sch can spread a 3k dot tick for 15 seconds on the entire enemy team and they can not guard or cleanse it. You do not need to be close and the only thing you need to do is make sure to hit as many people with deployment as possible.
Good sages and SCH do an absurd amount of damage.

The notion that healers can always heal (even ast and whm can't) has to go.
_____________
Edit: I'd like to mention that all healing is count together. Aka the one you do on you and the one you do on party members. Pots probably count to. Elixirs count. Recup counts. So whms is just inflated as all hell.
Nobody can ever tell if they just healed themself a lot with recup, it was overheal with lb, it wa soverheal with Cure 3 (whms always use it instantly, they don't have to... you can also target it), etc.
Same goes for ast, too.
People that regularely retreat to elixir when low (smart people) can have more healing than whm/ast.
Healing numbers itself say nothing because it counts it all together and nobody knows what and who they healed.
People HAVE to learn to take care of themself, retreating to pot is always better than rushing in.
People running out with no mp, then getting a single heal from me, just to run back in and die happens way too often, even tho i heal them so they maybe survive long enough to retreat.
People NOT knowing how to play and hoping healers can fix all their mistakes are the reason why sage and sch are seen as "bad".
Because SCH doesn't have the "highest" kill count mostly.
And both don't have the "highest" healcount either.
Yes, damage clumps together single and aoe damage too so people that have more aoe have more damage than like... monks or nins. Which is fine, monks and nins are picker (they can 100-0 you but only single people).
But SCH and sage still do a lot of damage by themself, pretty sure SCH dots are almost half(if not half) hp of many classes for NO commitment. That is REALLY good.
You really don't need healers to win if your team actually manages to kill the enemy team. Sch benefits a lot from an agressive team that knows how to take care of themself. Their chipdamage can help many dps (nins anybody?).
Also, the GNB changes scare me. GNB already hurts a lot... this is gonna be interesting.
Ayyo those Gunbreaker changes are hella lit, getting to hit harder AND giving me mitigation under LB? Damn Rough Divide -> Relentless Rush just got a whole lot scarier.
It's more like the opposite of what you're thinking right now. I get consistently matched with Crystal players at diamond 5, but I was already matched with Crystal players when I hit Platinum 1. If anything, this was to further close the gap between matchmaking ranks so the disparity of player skill difference is smaller. Don't know how it will affect queue times though.
After reading these patch changes, most jobs are getting really buffed in terms of survival and mitigation prevention. Black Mage in particular got a huge buff - Nightwing now even slows enemies in addition to its sleep effect, the barrier potency increased by 4000, all its finishing spells have increased potency, and its LB also giving 20% mitigation. That might be an issue, considering how fast Black Mage charges Limit Break compared to other jobs. It's a huge threat when left alive, moreso than any other job at the moment. These changes are really overtuned in the hands of a good Black mage.
Summoners got a powerful buff to Radiant Aegis - mitigation went up to 20% and barrier increased by 2000 potency. Casters are pretty tanky at the moment. RDM got nerfed slightly, but it's alright since they can heal or increase their lethality by a crazy amount.
Dancer got some survivability with honing dance offering 20% mitigation, which is nice since Dancers are now the "healing/defensive ranged support" job, Machinist is the high burst damage ranged job, and bard is a mix of the two with decently high sustain DPS. Really good changes all around for these three ranged roles by cementing their identities uniquely.
If anything, these changes is basically a huge stealth nerf to ninjas in the opening phase (has anyone been assassinating Yoshi P lately?). Assassinating someone is goanna be a lot more annoying for me, but I think it should be alright..? Going to have to try it out a bit more to tell though, but it looks like teams with Black Mage will dominate the opposing team unless the opposing team can quickly get rid of the Black Mage.
Kinda wished a bit more on the junction for passive but now GNB got even more kill potential.
You do so much burst damage on your own, the double down plus blasting zone with rough divide hurts without any debuffs.
The LB having some mitigation is nice, wonder if it is good stacking with Nebula for more defense although you are still a sitting duck when doing the spin (CC/status ailments vulnerable)
Also i'd like to say that the thing to buff on SCH is Seraph.
10 yalms range for such along lb charge is absolutely laughable.
Yes i know sage lb is just 5 yalms but you have to put yourself in it (it does do damage to you too) to be able to damage anybody in the dangercircle. People do always just run into it to fight in it, yes. But they do actively put themself into danger. There is a risk.
But 10 yalms on seraph is pretty bad tbh. Considering WHM is movable 30? Yalms? Ok. Make Seraph at LEAST 20 you cowards.
And... dunno about all the buffs to blm, good blms are scary but definitely too squishy so at LEAST the shield is fine.
Good GNBS already scare me so nothing changed.
SMN buffs are funny, i quite enjoy smn so, yay? Cool.
Ayo time to afk again without getting woken up by the auto play trailer.
They buffed Summoner with still no limitations on Frontline? What the hell are they thinking? Matches were already hellish thanks to the overabundance of people relying on SMN for group damage, and now they're even more powerful.
And yes, they SHOULD factor in Frontline into these decisions. Atleast make it so there's a drop off in damage against 5+ enemies.

Sauce, the Twitter.
for me the most notable thing is these patch notes is that they're dropping the 30 minute logout timer. I was starting to think it might be a permament addition but apparently they feel okay in dropping it now.
The only announcement I relish for is the removal of auto boot for being afk. Now I can afk dance again :p
Broken Drg,whm and now black mage(which got ultra instinct at this point) are the new thing ,don't be surprised if thats the squad you get on CC all the time lol
I can appreciate how people complained about SUM being OP and it being one of the jobs getting buffed
It's ridiculous just how quickly BLM gets "fixed / buffed" just due to the simple fact that the main job designer plays them.
It's the exact reason people are asking him to play healers just so he can understand their frustration.
You're not wrong. I could post Screenshots like this all day. Get an opposing team who likes to group together? Your damage is going to be insane. And I'm pretty average at pvp. In the hands of a good player, SCH is extremely strong, but their damage is also dependent on other people playing poorly which in the higher ranks isn't going to happen much.

Lol @SMN being buffed
I was expecting more PvP changes tbh
This one I can't figure out. RDM stopped overperforming after the last series of nerfs. If anything, it's been slightly underwhelming since. Now they lose a big chunk of what little survivability they had.
WHM untouched. SMN buffed against all reason. GNB needed that buff, though. It's good to see them being worked on. BLM has achieved godhood (again).
Yoshi-P job into god tier but Purify still doesn't work as intended? Great. Guess i should play Blackmage exclusively, like they clearly want... wait only 1 of each job in CC on each team... weird
Why they don't pause Frontlines when the PVP skillset is catered so much towards CC is beyond me. Not even a generall potency decrease for all actions in frontline. Do they keep frontlines open so one day they can retire it completely because nobody will play it?
Hopefully one day PVP will not be so intensely focused on status effects. It gets annoying imho
Absolutely agree. I had some friends argue healers are weak, but they play them way to passive. I’ve seen AST only healing and barely dealing out dmg. I main MCH/AST in pvp and you can be god damn aggressive as AST and it pays out. Dishing out 16k in an aoe + slow is really strong!
DNC range still utter trash.
Purify still broken so ridiculous chain stunning is still a thing.
Good job SE.
6.11,
A late April Fool’s joke?
Still blinking twice re-reading these changes lol
The huge buff BLM got after yoship played pvp is funny.
Now i can go on about my day running errands without being logged out of inactivity xD
don't care much about pvp to toxic for me will stay with the other content and be happy.
Looking at your avatar’s profile pic resembles like this singer with the hat,

Good to see SE it's caring more about PVP, since PVE have been turned in to a snore fest and a downfall since HW.
