What are your favorite in game characters?

Hi Guys!

I'm really into lore and love to immerse myself in the characters/NPC's characteristics. Because of this passion, I wrote a list of my favorite characters. Please note, I am a bit biased, since Cat boys are just irresistible to me ;)

Isn't that a better topic for General Discussion rather than Lore, though?

I'm likely forgetting someone and any character mentioned can typically carry over into subsequent expansions if and when they have additional scenes.

For the record, I support this being in the lore forum. There’s no “character” forum, it’s discussion will likely involve story anyway, and if it was in General it would just end up on page 4 lost between threads complaining about add on bans.

Okay not knocking your choices, just genuinely curious: Brithael? Why? When it comes to characterization, are you also including his post-arr content? I have only done his arr line, but in that he hardly stands out as having much more characterization than the merchant he’s kinda fueding with. Definitely way less to him than any of your other ARR picks. IMO, at least.

(Nothing against the BSM quests of course.)

Honestly, though I was afraid to click it at the time(tho not *nearly* as afraid as Godbert’s options later), Hamon looked damn good in those outfits he was modeling in LLD. Like, good for him, you know? I actually bought his “now I’m gonna go be a ladies man” line a bit after seeing him in those outfits. Amazing what getting rid of that horrible hat of his accomplished.

Massive grumpy bird glaring at me... actually got startled, loved it) also for becoming a favourite side-mystery... oh, and the mysterious beavers!

I like his design and although I started in Gridania, La Noscea as a whole was my favourite region back in ARR. Characters who are a little rough around the edges also appeal to me in general.

I'd agree with the entirety of this list. I'd add Elidibus to ARR (and beyond), as well as Nabriales, and Estinien, Hraesvelgr, Igeoyrhm and Ardbert to HW. I'll also admit to enjoying Zenos back in SB... but not beyond that. Misija as far as SHB is concerned is another fave. So far I'm not too enamoured with Vrtra but that may change later.

I kinda want to say Alisaie too but I dunno, I kinda like her but just not as much.
Lyse imo is the most underrated character, I think people just dismissed her because of the sloppy writing through most of the main SB MSQ.
She got way better in the post MSQ and moving forward ( also I am a bit biased cuz MNK, but still ).
It really felt like people just stopped paying attention to her character and decided that they hate her and just wouldn't give her a chance at all, like if people had just judged Alphinaud based on ARR still.
Same with Minfillia too really, people made her the scapegoat of the ARR fetch quests.
It's silly to blame her for being '' useless '' too, she was the leader of the scions her work wasn't out in the field lol. And a lot of other characters got kidnapped and needed help too... It's just weird and unfair to zero in on her specifically.
I liked her part as the Oracle of Light a lot too.

I wish we could get more Yugiri too, it was my biggest disappointment in EW that she just wasn't there ( outside of the Job quest ).
I feel like she's way more important than the game acts sometimes, especially with ARR and Heavensward in mind she really saved our ass and has always been super dependable.
She had really great scenes in Stormblood too.

Zenos had some of the best voice acting in gaming imo, and really well written dialogue he was just fun to listen to.
I also loved his role as a sort of mirror and nemesis of the WoL, basically the WoL equivelant from the Garlean side but perverted by his upbringing and without the journey the WoL had.

I shall always live in fear of one Ms. Rowena.

Ameliance, on the other hand, goes into the trashcan. At least her husband didn't throw me to be Rowena's lapdog again.
