The day the music died.
People act as if this is a new thing. He only reiterated what was already known and official. Followed by a disclaimer saying they can't prove anything without violating your pcs. If you didn't see that huge ass wink, I don't know what to tell you.
I don't know about you all, but I always thought bards playing in towns was annoying.
I turned off performance months ago. It makes towns much more bearable. Yeah, sometimes there were good players, but more often, there were bad players, or people just hitting one or two notes over and over just to be annoying, or blatant bots, or bands of bots that didn't quite match up with my latency and come out as a discordant mess. Just wasn't worth it.

And nothing was lost.
rip bard bands.
Bard performance was something most interesting that made me stick around in FF14 land. Remember finding it fricken amazing that you could actually play music like that... Cannot use real keyboard without midi interface.
I have nothing nice to say so I shall say nothing else.
I love it tbh, what i hate is when they go apeshit near the pvp npc in wolf den, made me mute it for the first since this feature came out.
Pro tip for bard if you want to annoy people, play random note in the pvp area, nothing like having someone making your ears bleed after losing a ranked CC :3
Bards are pretty cool.
Bard performance mode is literally just bots playing music correctly, solo or group, and the few people trying to play legitimately but ultimately make mistakes which sounds obvious and bad. How many renditions of Risk Astley or Dragonsong do we actually need to have in game?
The King is dead, long live the King!
Wonder if they could add some system to make adjusting performances easier, something like a mini fate UI (mini player, essentially), when you get near one with very simple easy UI with an option to go into deeper settings via a menu.
Like, increase or decrease volume, mute, isolate, etc (musician, player, specific - remembering them at least till exit of game, obviously incorporates blacklists). Settings in the deep menu could be set permanently, like if you wanted bard music but quietly. Alternatively you can simply use your little radio like UI to mute specific people or isolate to a specific person. May upgrade that system later to be portable orchestration, telling you what music is playing and when you come up to a bard it'll do a little icon or something to allow you to adjust controls (isolate/focus, increase, decrease, mute).
As for the system overall, I think it's fun to see people playing music even if sometimes it doesn't sound good at all lol.
Have they released anything about when they will actually let you use a program to play actual instruments through to the game. Surprised they let the spatial audio company anywhere near anything because they are indeed also third party, but they are making money off of that so its okay. I know all of these things were not okay before, but there is literally no ability to do alot of these things, and I doubt the devs will waste their time with something trivial like this. I see work done for them, and they will burn it. It is like watching someone bake a cake or something and they tell you no no no, you can not bake this cake only we can bake the cakes around here. Instead of just taking the cake and pretending it is there's like most devs do they will continue to not bake the cake. The person might even be willing to bake the cake for them, but they refuse. Only they will bake the cake, and you will wait for it. I suppose this is a bad analogy, but I see the code it is public, I see it is possible, and just given a "just wait longer". Maybe one day we will get the cake, but the cake will most likely be a lie.
Bards can still play music.
Pretty sure you can still play music, except you have to, you know, know how now instead of having assistance.
Rip bard bands, those were pretty cool and brought a lot of people around from multiple servers. One step closer to WoW
How does that one quote go?
