I think FF14 should remove job limitations on most glamour

In my opinion, FF14 should get rid of role/job restrictions on all non-Artifact gear. Gone are the days where we are limited by what we can wear for most glamour's. Tanks can wear casual clothing, Healers can wear Plated armor, Casters can wear recycled aiming gear and vice versa. Lastly your melees can wear mascot outfits. Any class fantasy identity you try and place on the Jobs of FF14 is devoid of reason as soon as you look at the lvl1 armors currently in place on the Market board and The online store. As a compromise I believe it only right that the Artifact gear remain as is, drawing the line there. In a game where you can level every class it pains me that we are limited by what we can wear. Why can i wear a full suit of armor on my paladin, but when i switch to my Red Mage i can no longer wear that same piece of gear? Did i suddenly lose the strength as soon as i swapped my job stone? I would hazard to say so when the physiology of a Roegadyn is such as it is before even picking up an axe. What ever lore reason you want to throw out there, or class fantasy it just doesn't make since. Why limit us when we can be anything, why hurt our creativity? Why?

Nah, I don't exactly know the reason. Either it's programming problem, or the devs clinging to their old view of class fantasy.

+1. Glams restrictions are dumb at this point (except for AF gears)

I'm pretty sure most people would like glamour restriction removed off everything but Artifact gear.
just something have to constantly nag dev team about till they realise.

Accessories use to do this but then tanks started using mnk gear because it was better than the tank gear.

I assume it's a programming issue and that they can't let you glamour a thing without also letting you equip the thing, and they want to keep that side of it locked down.

I don't think it'll happen, much as I want it to. I also really doubt there is any difficult problem on their end. We've heard the same song and dance before about how they can't do X or that it would be very difficult to do Y, meanwhile modders (did I say a naughty word?) have things like almost all headwear for Viera, Hrothgar ears, QoL stuff, etc working and released the same week.

It is either laziness, incompetence, or upper management being overly controlling about what gets development priority.

personally something I'd like them to do is make a super glamor prism that can turn any none artifact piece into all class glam gear.

can be made by all crafters
materials gotten by poetics and crafter scrips and the prism can be sold on MB

This, and I think it's fair if all armor can be wear without level limitation... Like i have farmed level 90 glam that looked good on healer but i can't do it because i need to level up them first... Well, I think glam is not a stat increase if we glam it so why not just remove it's level limitation

That disappointment when I reached certain part of ShB first playthrough. Saw one of the cane wielding NPC of the Blessed Night using a top that I’d love to use on my baby SCH but only to find out it’s locked to aiming jobs.

That’s only one from many examples exisitng. NPCs using combination of multiple role pieces are everywhere, but apparently players can’t have that? :sob:

Correct, AF gear is. The rest, though? Look at Aiming gear for example and tell me all of it fits both MCH *and* BRD/DNC perfectly...

I 100% agree with removal of glamour restrictions barring Artifact gear. If they would like limit it more, how about removing glamour restrictions once it becomes obsolete, for example since we are in 6.X, everything from 5.X and older, gets the glamour restrictions removed. 6.X stuff keeps it’s limitations until 7.0. Some sort of compromise to keep some uniqueness temporarily.

And yes, they restrictions should be gone.
The devs are clearly not interested to uphold them themselves when making npcs and therefore we should not be restricted by them either.
