Hope the dev team considers adding Chat Bubbles when looking at UI mods

Just wanted to give my feedback in regards to the 3rd party tools post - as a console player and someone isn't doing current savages/ultimates yet. The mod I most want to see added to the game is the chat bubbles. Especially after seeing the ARR parody play that the Crawlers (the guild that Preach Gaming is part of) put on. It wouldn't have been possible without the chat bubbles mod.

If I'm being honest, the first mod I'd install if I was a PC player would probably be to give my viera hats, but I recognize that's not going to be under consideration for UI mods. As a console player I've gone from being completely unaware of mods existing (beyond ERP memes) to "I can live without gshade" to being jealous of viera/hrothgar hat/hair mods & chat bubbles, and now also worrying about cheaters using mods in PvP.

To be fair, over time I've also gotten more into following FFXIV communities and streamers so I don't know if mods are more prevalent than they used to be or I'm just consuming more FFXIV content out of game.

I hope this is an option, so anyone who wants to add, adds, and whoever likes a less polluted look can leave it without.

I'm sorry you can't use the game update that allows you to wear hats on Hrothgar and Vieras.

+1000! Chat bubbles add a lot of flavor for a game for me, so I'd like to see it implemented as an optional feature. :)

Agree with everyone that this should obviously be an optional feature. I think it should also have options for Party Only, Alliance Only, and FC Only.

Definitely a option. Cause I would definitely have mine turned off. Not like I have enough clutter on my screen. So chat bubbles off for me.

I see that on... Pyromancers(?) stream and i think its god awfull... idk why anyone likes that lol

Now that you mention it that is where I saw that and boy it looked like a cluttered @ss mess. Like hell No. Put it in the game as a option and I will for sure keep that turned off. Ridiculous

Idk immersion n stuff, but having more then like 1 person on screen its would be so messy... to me it feels like some silly little cartoon >_>

Can't argue with the above, although I haven't watched Pyro. The few streams where I've seen it they've either limited it or people aren't speaking much so I haven't witnessed the clutter aspect, although I can certainly imagine it. For me personally, where I'd find it most useful would be dungeons, etc. where it's easy for me to completely miss chat while I'm looking at everything else. Haha, I know plenty of people would say that's the last place they'd want it, but I think it'd be helpful for me.

Can't see ever turning on a chat bubble options for general pop in the open world though, the Limsa Lominsa aetheryte plaza would probably be a nightmare.

1000% yes.

I can't see the whole 'clutter' thing being an issue, unless you're blessed to be in a incredibly social server. My server Moogle on the otherhand, I don't think chat bubbles are going to be an issue.
Whenever I go to a major city, only a handful of people are publicly speaking, and the majority are sticking to /tell or /partychat.

Whenever the subject of chat bubbles arise, a lot are against it because people are overestimating how big the chat bubbles will be, and how many people in reality actually speak publicly in game. But as others have said, as long as it is a toggle button away, then everyone's happy.

Sounds like a great idea. As long as you can opt out of using them. I may not like something but that does not mean others would not enjoy it, don't like seeing stuff removed would rather them just add a opt out button.

I think chat bubbles would also be great for people to pay attention if someone is saying something in the chat lol, too many times have I had people just not read the chat for advice and went their merry way to die.

Chat bubbles would help me immensely with keeping up with some discussions/chats. Having those things pop up would actually be an ADHD friendly feature because reading a chat without bubbles is boring.
So yes make it an optional feature I can see how some people would not be interested in that. But they should 100% add it.
