Extension of 30-day requirement for FC housing due to lottery shenanigans?

As I understand, a 30-day requirement for FC members to buy a house was added to prevent people from creating new accounts to buy up the houses added in 6.1 for reselling purposes.
Since the lottery shenanigans are causing the first proper lottery to finally start in mid May, we'd be way past the 30-day period.
Will the requirement be adjusted (at least temporarily) to make sure that the plots are not going to fall into the hands of resellers? Or are we going to enter the same lottery with them?

You really think a 30 day requirement is going to stop people from reselling houses? It's already being done. And they've said zilch about extending that requirement due to the shenanigans.

No, I agree with you and don't think it'll work.
It's what SE said they implemented it for so they think it works.
I want to know if they remember what they have said as I've heard nothing about the timer itself from the announcement.

I say that just for the information, and to suggest its better to let them argue it. The devs read that side.

to begin with your new FC need to be 30 day old to be able to buy a plot... and you need to be a member of an FC for 30 days to be able to inherit the title of FC owner.

I'd like to believe that the 30 day window is to create a period of time for SE to review for suspicious activity that might indicate reselling. It does little hinder the initial purchase by a reseller but it could help to establish that reselling is happening if the FC Master changes 30 days after the new Master joined the FC.

Already I'm seeing medium FC plots in Empyreum owned by FCs with fewer than 4 members when I check the company profile at the placard. It's hard to say if those are owned by real life couples (or similar variation) who set up a private FC together, players going the shell route to make certain they could get a house for personal use, or if there's intent to resell. That's something SE would need to look into.

The 30 day rule was likely meant to slow down RMT. They don't like to hold onto things long, they want them sold ASAP. Before they could create an FC, level it to 6, use botting software to ensure they win a plot at the placard, and sell it to a buyer all in the same day. (And often did!) Now, they have to wait 30 days for the new FC to even be eligible to buy a lotto ticket. Then find a buyer willing to sit in the FC for 30 days before they can turn over FC master to them. Too much hassle, the money takes too long to get to them. (One of them, I am amused to report, has decided to switch to interior design instead, now.)

Reselling will continue until forever or they make housing available enough that it's no longer lucrative.

They have let it go further than they should have. If they take action now (or later) they will just piss people off enough to leave. Granted, that's not always a bad thing, but from the financial point of view for them, it will be. We believe they are in it just for the money - they won't listen to anyone, they won't make the changes needed for housing, they won't ever buy servers in anticipation of issues (because it's been an issue every.single.expansion), and wait until the last minute to make themselves "looking busy" trying to save some face. I get that an MMO this big has to take some balancing acts, but my God, some of it is so abundantly clear, in your face know it has to change maneuvering and not a finger is lifted to fix the issue.

I'm curious as to what you were replying to? the person you quoted pretty much explained the exact reason for the timer, most resellers don't want to wait 30 days to resell the FC, I recently turned one over to a friend and I have to be honest the wait was a major pita.

This and to be honest it was a pain when I got caught in the wait time, but I do believe it was a good decision on SEs part, a better one would be to just fix the way housing works from the purchasing to the decorating.
