PVP Action - Cure II - Max Charge Bug

Date & Time: April 16, 2022
Frequency: Always
World name: Hyperion
Character name: Rei Reizei
Class/Level: White Mage/90
Party or solo: Party/Solo
Area and coordinates: All PVP zones including the Wolves Den Pier.

Steps:
1. Cast Cure II on White Mage until you have 1 Charge
2. Cast Cure II with 1 Charge and Cancel the Cast (Moving, pressing ESC, or getting cced via stun/silence for example)
3. Charges will refill

I can confirm this since it's an exploit and may be part of the reason more people are in the high ranking tiers than should be that have played white mage sadly that haven't noticed and are unaware for the new mode

To add to the report:
Any CC (stuns/Silence for example) that stop the second cast also cause the glitch.

This desperately needs to be fixed. How does this thread only have 2 replies over 5 days? I found out about this through a Youtube comment. It seems to be public information and many people seem to be using this method to grind through the ranks. How are they going to give top 100 players of each server unique rewards if such a significant majority of victories are illegitimate? If one team has a WHM that is purposefully utilizing this bug, and if the other team either doesn't have a WHM or isn't aware of the bug, the latter will lose 99% of the time.

i think it has 2 comments because its a fairly uncontroversial bug report.

The fact it hasn't been moved to "accepted" (5 days later) is a bit troubling.

This is an extremely simple fix, you simply make the spell instant cast.

This needs to be addressed asap. The whole point of a ranked game mode relies on the sanctity of fair competition.

How are you gonna report someone for using it when it’s extremely possible to accidentally do it constantly. I’m always moving in pvp so i’m constantly cancelling casts. What you’re gonna report me for that? lol

Cure II really should be an instant cast heal to keep it in line with the other healers in PvP. Doing this also negates the cast being outright interrupted so it does make for a simple fix so long as that is the only issue.

I'll agree with this if you can absolutely prove the person was abusing it. It is rather difficult to determine (at least in FL) whether a WHM is abusing the bug or if they are getting interrupted for reasons outside of their control (such as CC or even if the target they are healing moves out of range or out of line of sight or the target is incapacitated). Even then panic healing on the move can cause accidental triggering of the bug and this could potentially make it difficult to determine if the bug was purposefully being misused.

Yes, you can actually, especially if you record it and report to the Task force on the website. You can tell if someone is misusing it when they only spam cure 2 in a match.
