6.11 Buffs to SAM

Nice to see that you're looking at the forums at the very least, but the core problem that you created with the 6.1 changes still remains: The class is not fun to play anymore; especially before an Ultimate drop where many statics had to change their lineup in order to get the utmost from their group compositions and synergy.

Give us a full revert and not these 100 potency band-aid buffs. It feels bad when other classes have higher potency 'big hit' abilities and buff synergy but we do not.
We've given you our feedback, and will continue to do so until the soul and fun of the class is restored. The below will keep happening until you do, and we do not want to wait until 7.0, or even the next Savage raid tier:

I want someone to go back through all the patch notes and count how many times 10-20 potency was used as the solution for job balance. I'm genuinely curious.

Shoha "buff" is a joke aswell, it was 580 before nerf....

If they weren't going to revert their garbage changes, nothing would've been by far less insulting than these so-called "buffs". Least that's how I view it. They might as well have been bread crumbs at best.

I'm Still hoping for a Kaiten comeback (Kaiten Removals feels like they also cut one of your fingers), instead they just give us these potency change, and still haven't solved the main issue on this new SAM changes

I'm holding the urge to spouts the F bomb and insult to Yoshi P and his Teams, because i still believe that they're working on it.

The 6.11 buffs are probably even more insulting than just being straight up ignored. Atleast with being ignored, Yoshi P and the other developers can feign ignorance. These meagre buffs (lol 1.6% more damage) is essentially Yoshi P and the other developers going "we see your complaints and think what you have to say is worthless".

I've been wondering and I don't think I've seen this earlier, but if SE is worried about button bloat so much, can't the skill that gives 50 free kenki and Oga Namakiri Ready just become Oga Namakiri?

Not sure if it's already like that but does make me wonder if that's an easy route...

They don’t even give the full potency back they took. They took 60 potency (without Kaiten) and gave 40 back. The only skill that is as powerful as it was with Kaiten after the change was Higanbanna. They couldn’t have at least given us 750 Midare with auto Crit? And the fact that Ogi still lost potency too is salt in the wound.

And yet I still see people say that the combo actions got buffed so it made up for it before numbers came in. The problem is this is not accounting for where you use most of your Iaijutsu, especially Ogi, Higanbanna, and Midare. When all the buffs are out. So this isn’t in a bubble of just sams to sams, it’s Smurai being nerfed SPECIFICALLY during big group burst phases and it’s absolutely unacceptable that we lost not just 60 potency to Midare and the follow up with 6.1 but 390 because of the loss of Kaiten and more because of Ogi being nerfed too ALL DURING MAJOR BURSTS. Whoever made these changes must genuinely not play the game or the class because that’s how tone deaf all of these have been.

Guess i need to unsub with these changes. Thought i would give them benefit of the doubt but with these “buff”, its clear that they dont want to listen to player feedback. Cool, i just pack my shiet and go somewhere else till my sam back to normal

Thank you for the replies all; threads like mine and this one by SleeeeeeepySleeeeeeep pretty much encapsulate our thoughts regarding these 6.11 'fixes', which I am now learning were most likely in response to the Yukikaze + Hagakure Shinten spam meme rotation.

Quite sad that a meme rotation echoed from Stormblood was close in damage to the more optimal rotation they had numbered out, and that it forced their hand to push these band-aid changes through. Just goes to show that they do not know what they are doing, nor have quite as close a pulse on the community as so many claim.

Woke up and read patch notes. Felt saddened to see SAM hasn't reverted. So I am here, once more, to voice my disappointment.

There aren't many jobs in the game at this time that I find fun to play. With the SAM changes, I don't know what job to change to now because most jobs just don't have playstyles that I enjoy. I used to main PLD in ARR. I took a long break, came back, but found all the tanks played so similarly and were braindead that I couldn't go back to playing a tank. I tried healer. Only found SCH mildly interesting out of all the healers but they were also homogenized. I played SMN out of necessity for ShB for my group. I wasn't a fan of the job but it was more interesting back then than it is now. And now I see SAM going down the toilet too.

Please revert changes. Running out of jobs to pick from that are fun to play. And the pool is getting smaller with every major job change you guys are introducing. In fact, please stop job simplifications across the board. Easier to play doesn't mean more fun. Just means nothing has separate flavors anymore. It's like selling multiple brands of vanilla ice cream while trying to convince me that they're all unique. There might be subtle differences but I've never been a fan of vanilla to begin with.

Sadge they rather have someone without a job stone then a BIS samurai. I was not a fan of having to re-roll classes 2 weeks before ultimate release and all my BIS gear going to waste. Honestly I was surprised new changes even amounted to a 1% buff
