Leaderless LS deletion.
Doing this on behalf of my LS leader. We were going to do a reform of the LS, due to half of the LS never being online anymore, and to weed out those that dont pay attention to this LS.
Thinking it would work like it did in XI, The leader retired from the LS instead of talking to the NPC to disband it. We wanted the same name as before, and everything else, and in order to do that had to destroy it.
There are a few options I can think of to have this worked out, but I don't know which would be easiest to do if any, but the best solution I can see working, is; If the linkshell leader no longer exists with in the LS, or, if they have retired the LS, then that LS would automatically be disbanded just like it was in XI. This would be more of an implement added in with an upcoming update if anything.
The only other options i can think of would be either to have someone that is capable of doing so, change the name, delete the LS, re-instate old Leader's position, some how make a current officer new leader (2 of which haven't been online or in the LS for over a month). If any of this is doable please let me know.
Linkshell name: Thousand Needles
Original leader: Retribution Shadowwalker
Server: Durandal
Officer submitting: Katsume Kotomi
If anything or nothing can be done at this time, please let me know. Thank you for your time.

By chance, can we put numbers in LS names?
And I look forward to SE's response for situations such as these.

I didn't think it was possible for the leader to "Retire" from the LS. The option was greyed out for my old shell that I made. Ret was on like last week though, I figure he's been playing...
-
he still plays, im just posting this for him is all lol
-
I checked and I can't retire from my own linkshell. Is your leader actually gone from the linkshell list?
-
yes he is, he choose retire linkshell form the NPC i think, but somehow he got removed from the LS and it still exists with no leader
-
As LS "officers" or w/e we can go up to the Linkshell person in Uldah and try to disband the linkshell, but when it says "are you sure you want to do this" we get the message that we do not have the proper authority to do that. I can also confirm that he is playing but is NOT in the LS we are trying to break.

SHHHHHHHHH, i feel stupid >.< lol, now all FF knows i derp

Oh I see. As far as I know, you'll have to call a GM in the game to possibly have it taken care of. I think I remember them saying if the linkshell needed a change in leadership, that's how you do it. Have you tried calling a GM yet?
If that's not a possibility, I guess change the name just slightly without changing it all together. Like make the 'l' a capital 'I' instead. Pretty sure they look the same. That's what happened when someone made an 'imposter' linkshell pretending to be someone else.

they say there is nothing they can do.. please refer to support.square-enix.... forums things for what GMs can help with.. the basic automated, "sorry cant help you" message
-
Aw that sucks. I'd just do the second thing I suggested. About the best you can do keeping the same name and such. Well... almost the same name XD
-
renaming is done, but, the issue in this is the issue its self that should have never really happened to begin with, and would just be nice to have fixed before it happens to others ><
-
Yeah that sucks. I hope you get it worked out.
-
still dont know how he managed to drop his shell as leader and keep the LS alive. and would be nice to get some official answers on this too ><
-
Shameless bump to get the attention of the SE team
-
response would be nice, but i dont see it happening easily, if it cant be taken care of for us personally, would be nice to alteast prevent this from future causes for others at the least.
-
Doesn't look like there will be an official response to this. Still though was worth a shot, and still think they should improve the LS system so if something like this happens the shell still gets deleted, and to make it to where you can remove members weather they are online or not.
-
Shameless bump for SE TO SEE!!!!! c'mon man..
-
seems to not be of any importance to the team at all, can't even get to talk to a GM about it in game, still makes you wonder if they will be implementing something soon or not to fix it so you can either delete the LS, or if officers/leaders can just boot any member to empty the LS be it that they are on the game or not (still concern about the officers that no longer play the game ><)
