Also regarding the concept art that was used for the JP questions, it has been released in the past.
As a compensation, we are releasing additional wallpapers bearing the new concept art so grab them as well!
But yes. This is great.
FF7 again? >.> it's remind me a boss inside the temple
"Addtional Wallpaper(s)" Were going to get more than 1? o.o
Huge +1 for creating a demon wall. I wonder how this will work in-game. Perhaps like FFXII?
All in all.... Just another demon in a wall.
AHHHHH Demon wall soooooo many SPLAT!!!! memories, I suppose it would be in line with SE's ideas of speed runs as well.
This. And also, my reaction when I saw him.

and so we see yoshida's play for the ultimate final fantasy game
take every thing cool from the previous games throw it in a blender hit frape and serve up a smoothie of awsome.
Makes me wonder, if they do start to incorporate things of FF's past, how we could see something like Doom Train play out. I honestly would forsee that playing a role in the Garlamaid (sp?) areas, something of an instance you have to complete to get further into the region, ultimately fighting the head of the train to progress into the next region.
Which, on that idea, I'd like to see something like that.. old FF games would make you go through a cave, or a dungeon in order to progress in the world, afterwards you could usually explore the surroundings at your lesiure.
I sort of imagine DW belonging to an ancient castle in Ishgard somewhere, along with the Yellow Dragon. Possibly as a Sub and then Main boss scenerio.
Ultima though.. that still has my curiousity piqued.
It does make me happy knowing Yoshida is putting maximum effort in to show he is making 2.0 a true Final Fantasy game. So far, it is really showing. The new area designs, new monsters, and recently added soundtracks really show that FFXIV is going to be a FF fan's dream world. Now just need to make sure the technical side is all good.
Almost every Final Fantasy uses past references from it's previous games to give that feeling of FF, so just pulling something from a previous title only feels common to me. Hell, FFIX worked 90% off content from old titles and became one of the best entries to the series.
Actually, as cool as the coliseum was in FFXIII-2, I wish this was something implied into FFXIV, could of made a Void Coliseum. Could make it an instanced battle arena where you fight old, nostalgic enemies. Have fights like Ultros, Gilgamesh, Magus Sisters, Four Elemental Fiends from FFIV, and so on. It wouldn't contribute to the story, but be an interesting side quest portion.
Overall, I love you are bringing old into the new SE, I look forward to seeing how 2.0 turns out. :)
Walls have always been the bane of my existence. I'm excited.
What happened to the other images...? Plus thats gotta be demon wall.. and its cool. Its funny.. alot of this game is from FF4. Art style of Garleans, to many enemies from FF4 they choosed from. If you ever checked out FF14 new Garlean stronghold you can see how much of the art style they used from it from FF4.
