Increase the amount of gardens and retainers for small and medium houses.

You should be able to have the maximum limit in ANY size house. If I want to take up three retainer spaces, or three garden spaces, then I should be able to. It detracts from the houses item capacity like any other. To limit us like this makes no sense, especially when the medium and large houses are much less common than the smalls that dominate the wards.

Give us the same amount of retainer and garden spaces.

20 slots is rather lacking, for example you want to have a nice garden hedge partition around your small plot, well there aren't even enough slots to do that. You like the grass and trees from lakeland well not enough slots to do that.

I agree completely. Heck, even to decorate for a holiday I have to get rid of my main things. Let me have room for holiday decorations. ;-;

Admittedly my two examples would be easy issues to solve, first allow us to have short medium and tall walls as an option, for the grass have snow, lakeland grass etc as a customisation slot for the estate itself.

Heck even just some stones... id love to make some paths and idc if they get culled easily from distance, but it eats WAY too much slots. Same for some extra grass, flowers etc...

And we already "have to" add the mailbox, stable, teleport and maybe 1-3 retainers...

OMG yes I thought the teleport system was bugged when I couldn't estate teleport after being able to just do so to my apartment, so it was instantly down to 19, then looking at mailbox and stable like oh there's 18 now 17 and just thinking what am I going to even be able to do with my garden if I get them.

I bought an apartment in the same ward just so that I could have my chocobo stable not take up a slot, but still have quick access. Also, yes I heavily decorated, and will be using both frequently. Please don't direct your salt toward me when there are plenty of apartments compared to the lack of housing plots.

That is a good point! I didn't think about that. It is more convenient to have teleportation at both, but I might think about removing it.

How about retainers >inside< the house.

More is nice, but still, working inside the system can be done with a bit of smart.

Yep... Retainers inside the house, stable at the apartment (not needed once you've changed your bird's colour), if you can teleport to apartment and ride to house. A bit of careful decorating. Use your neighbor's training dummy or SSS.

Even consider - after you've done it for a month and found it boring/too hard, if gardening is really for you. If your plants end up wilting and you go meh, then just pull the gardens back into your storeroom.

There are also lots of tricks for a nice yard with 20 objects. Ride around the various wards and see what people do. A favourite of mine is the large pond, to divide the small plot in half, bridge over it. That makes the green space more interesting and you don't need to fill it up.

expand this to all other house size based restrictions... like how many workbenches you can have in various house sizes and npcs etc etc...

if you want all 8 work benches in a small or medium basement then that should be allowed

They should have done this from day one!
