Thank Hydaelyn we didn't have this housing problem.

Me and my rich lala friend who spotted me the coin (it's always a lala) both rolled for houses and both won. Interestingly we both were the third applicants and the number was 3 for both of us. Not sure about my other guild mates as one of them got the 0 roll as well (rip) but for most it seems we all got a house in the same ward. Seems going for mid-number ward and high-number subdivision was the best play.

Finalized that purchase about an hour after the results were up and right after seeing the dumpster fire that was the update log about a "housing lottery issue" made sure and slapped my construction permit in, built the house and moved my shit in there as fast as I could. Friends did the same. Was a bit unnecessary since there were multiple different outcomes for the data issues and we fell into the unaffected category so nothing will happen to us but I wasn't gonna take any chances and regardless of the fix outcomes ain't no way our houses are being repossessed without serious re-compensation.

So I can't hate on the current data set or whatever used for the lotteries. I for one welcome our new lord and primal, the current lottery system :cool:

I am in the same boat. I'm also outraged that people want to destroy our plots, and revert everything back. Look, I don't care if there was a zero in the roulette. It rolled a seven, and that was me. I won fair and square, with one extra bit of data quite possibly in the race. People who actually won their plots DO NOT deserve to lose their plots. We rolled like everyone else. I'm not going to let you take my plot away, and will argue it until that point is clear. You're not taking our plots. I've been trying to get a house since Heavensward, with absolutely zero luck until now. I'm sorry for those that are unlucky, but taking away others houses so you can roll again won't make the problem better. It will make it saltier. Lets just make peace instead. Keep giving feedback to the devs, and leave us alone. To take our houses would be a scorched earth policy. "I can't have it, so now no one should!" is a disgusting mentality.

I don't think they will seize anything thankfully since they've already stated not everyone is affected. Plus can you imagine the headache of not only recompensating for the plot but for the construction permit and any and all add-ons plus finding a way to store the furniture that would have to be returned in the event of a seizure. It would be the worst possible move they could make rather than just re-rolling on plots that couldn't sell due to the 0 factor.

There will always be a certain amount of salt towards you guys. Especially if you don't keep your lip zipped, and boast about winning a plot, like the OP here.

If you won, cool. Enjoy your property, and take note that your future neighbors will likely not be very fond of you.

I 100% agree with tact on owning a house. I don't advertise it YET, and will be withholding from doing any RP events until the pain dies down a bit for other people. I completely empathize and understand that people have a right to be upset. If I hadn't won my house, I probably would have cried, and made a big fuss on the forums. Heck, I MIGHT have been skewed toward chaotic thinking, and wished for other plots to be rolled back, just so I could have a chance. I sometimes say things in anger and frustration that I live to regret, and wouldn't be surprised if I acted this way. It gets the better of all of us. Just please understand that compassion, and room for healing is important. You don't have to be ready for it right away when you're frustrated, but try to keep more positive mental health habits in order. Also they NEED to get rid of having to go up to the plot you lost ASAP. Have the money delivered to a moogle, have it given back at some other place in the ward, but do NOT make people walk up to the plot just to see the house being decorated while you're down, and possibly in tears. It's messed up. Never should have happened, and for that to happen is a complete disregard for mental health on the playerbase.

It's even more messed up that THERE IS a reclaiming items person in each ward, just in case you lost your plot, you got kicked out, or were in a disbanded FC. They have the NPC for this, and they did nothing with it on the lottery system. Heck, if they want to be even more considerate, they could add one to the Firnament, or add them to each wards city somewhere. A complete neutral ground, so that people can turn away and mentally block out what they don't want to think about is sometimes needed for people in stress. It's actually healthy to put aside your stress in the moment, and focus. Just don't stay in that denial forever, and you're good.

Some of my behavior when I won my plot was regretful. I thought in the moment of all the excitement that apologizing and wishing good luck to the lowers who were coming up to the plaque in front of my plot was best..
Now I feel like an asshole, and to anyone reading this who may have lost out on my plot, I am so sorry. It was in poor taste. I should have just not said anything. I feel like a dick.

A daily reminder for the Balmung/Mateus people out there who deluted themselves into believing they need to get their hands on a larger house in order to attract more members/RP purposes:

"I can't have it, so no one should" is a bad mentality when one discusses the phrase within the context that it was meant for. The problem is that this isn't a situation where through effort someone can acquire a house. That was the vision back when it was first incepted, but the entire system lacks the required scalability and it's been just one problem after another each time they've tried to add something to rectify the issues. This housing system was done strictly for PR to attract more players, since by implementing the system it would generate headlines in most gaming news outlets and even if it generated controversy, that would still advertise the game one way or another since the main game was still serviceable. We are very far past that point in the games life cycle with the number of players now playing the game. A lotto system does not fix housing, nor does limiting the plots on who can purchase what.

The only way to make housing not cause problems is to make infinite housing, which the current housing system can't sustain. That means the best course of action is to not mess with anything in the housing system. Making a change to make it a lotto just fans fires and attracts attention to one of the worst systems the game has. They don't need more wards, they need to completely scrap this and get a new system. The only reason I even say they should just kill this and make everyone use apartments or something is because it's clear that supporting this system is near impossible considering it's been five years since the stormblood housing salt and this is the best they can come up with.

The good in me wants to congratulate you, but the salt in me also wishes you a happy rollback. :P

This thread is in rather poor taste, so I wouldn't fault anyone for the latter. Well, at least if it were for OP only.

I lost to 0 on my FC's dream plot with no competition. Still don't think you guys who did win should have a rollback, you got it fair and square in that you were lucky enough to not be glitched. You and I had the same odds because we both entered the lottery with the same rules, even if on the back end anything funky was happening with the numbers. We had no way of predicting which plots or characters would get 0 (or that it would happen, obviously), however the roll ended up that way.

Them removing houses from people who DID win is a sure-fire way to make people WAY angrier than they already are, haha. It seriously sucks not to get the house I was already celebrating as mine, but it'd suck more to have won it and decorate it and then lose it.

I do think they should/will reroll ONLY plots where the winner was 0, since they have logs that show who all entered. Maybe that's why I'm not salty, I am on hopium and don't think it is worth being TOO upset over (yet), even if it is aggravating and shouldn't have happened.

Talk to me again if they make me reenter the lottery on my no-competition house along with everyone who did lose fair and square to a real player and had mine as their second choice :')

OVERALL, ignoring the 0 issue, I think lottery is way better than placard clicking. Saying this as someone who placard clicked for months and did get my personal house that way. It is (theoretically) way more fair and although the glitch has me a bit miffed, placard clicking was far more soul-draining.

Edit: Aha! Posted at the same time Square did. Our dream plot is indeed ours ;v; All the more congrats to y'all who got yours without the stress, lol.

I was so anxious over the results I ended up having a nightmare about losing the large I had my bid one xD WAY too invested I know, but I clicked the placard expecting nothing and when it said Congratulations!! I screamed and was so happy I even forgot to screenshot the moment q.q
Housing had caused way more rage and anxiety to me with the placard clicking vs one dodgy nights sleep on results night. Lottery ftw, just fix those bugs and no complaints here besides availability, still wanna move my goblet private mansion to shirogane!
It looks like people who lost to 0 will have their solution and I can enjoy my new house without worries.
